What is the minimum installation height for the Boretti K 960 range hood?

The hood must be installed at a minimum height of 65 cm above the cooking surface. If the cooking appliance instructions indicate a greater distance, follow that.

What diameter of exhaust duct should be used?

For models K and EK, use a minimum diameter of 125 mm. For models KP, KV, EKP and EKV, the minimum diameter is 150 mm.

How to clean the grease filter?

Clean the metal grease filter once a month with a non-aggressive detergent, by hand or in the dishwasher at low temperature (short cycle). Washing in the dishwasher may discolor the filter but does not affect its performance.

When should the charcoal filter be replaced?

The charcoal filter (for recirculation version) must be replaced every 4 months under normal use. It is not washable or recyclable.

How to change the hood bulb?

Make sure the bulb is cool. Carefully remove the protective glass using a screwdriver. Replace the defective bulb with a halogen bulb of 20 W max. Avoid touching the bulb with bare hands. Replace the protective glass.

Does the hood have an automatic stop?

Yes, after selecting a speed (1, 2 or 3), press the key again to activate the timer: the hood stops automatically after 5 minutes.

Can I use the hood in recirculation mode?

Yes, if external exhaust is not possible, you can use the hood in recirculation mode by installing charcoal filters. The filtered air is then recirculated into the kitchen through the side openings.

What safety precautions should be taken?

Never flambé food under the hood. Monitor frying to prevent oil ignition. Ensure good ventilation if the hood is used with combustion appliances. The extracted air must not be discharged into a duct used for fumes from non-electric appliances.

How to electrically connect the hood?

Check that the mains voltage matches that indicated on the label inside the hood. Connection should be carried out by a professional if necessary.

What to do in case of malfunction?

Consult the user manual. If the problem persists, contact Boretti customer service, the details of which are on the back of the manual. Remember to disconnect the hood before any intervention.

Installation

The cooker hood must be placed at a minimum distance of 65~cm from the cooking plane. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account. Do not tile, grout or silicone this appliance to the wall. Surface mounting only. Do not fix chimney flue to furniture or fly over shelves unless the chimney flue can be easily removed, in case maintenance is ever required.

The exhaust hood must be connected to a discharge duct with a diameter of at least 125 mm for models K and EK and at least 150 mm for models KP, KV, EKP and EKV. Check carefully which model you have and whether the diameter of your discharge duct is correct. This is of great importance for the lifespan of your exhaust hood.

Exhaust pipe

The exhaust hood includes a connection (B) on top for the discharge of steam outdoors (discharge duct not included). For models KP, KV, EKP and EKV, no extra connection adapter is included; for these models the discharge must be connected directly to the motor housing. In situations in which it is not possible to discharge steam outdoors, the filter version of the exhaust hood - F (recirculation) - can be used in combination with carbon filters. The filtered air is returned to the kitchen via the openings on the side.

Electrical connection

The electrical tension must correspond to the tension noted on the label placed inside the cooker hood.

Should you wish to discard the machine for any reason, please comply with the following: Take the machine to the local authorized company that collects discarded household appliances. Correct processing enable valuable materials to be recycled in an intelligent manner. Before discarding your machine it is important that you cut off the power supply cord and remove it together with the plug. This machine has been accorded the appropriate mark in accordance with European Directive 2002/96EG regarding discarded electric and electronic equipment. This directive determines the standards for the collection and recycling of discarded equipment that apply to the entire territory of the European Union.

Operation instructions

The cooker hood is provided with 5 keys.

1 - 2 - 3: Suction power: Minimum (1), medium (2), maximum (3)

You can make the 1 - 2 - 3 speed function for 5 minutes, after which the hood switches off. To use this function, after having pressed the key to choose the desired speed, press again.

Maintenance

Prior to any maintenance operation ensure that the cooker hood is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Cleaning

The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly internally and externally. For cleaning use a cloth moistened with denatured alcohol or neutral liquid detergents. Avoid abrasive detergents.

Warning: Failure to carry out the basic standards of the cleaning of the cooker hood and replacement of the filters may cause fire risks. Therefore we recommend observing these instructions.

Anti-grease Filter

The anti-grease filter must be cleaned once a month, with non-abrasive detergents by hand, or in dishwasher on low temperature and short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.

Charcoal Filter - (only for filter version)

The active charcoal filters are not washable nor regenerative. It should be changed every 4 months in normal use.

Replacing light bulbs

Warning! Before touching the bulbs, make sure they are cool.

Carefully remove the glass lamp cover with a screwdriver (refer to the drawings on the last pages). Remove the defective bulb. Use only halogen bulbs with a maximum rating of 20 W, and make sure you do not touch them with your bare hand. Then fit the glass lamp cover in its original position.

Caution

This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance.

Do not use the cooker hood where the grill is not correctly fixed! The suctioned air must not be conveyed in the same channel used for fumes discharged by appliances powered by other than electricity. The environment must always be adequately aerated when the cooker hood and other appliances powered by other than electricity are used at the same time.

Flambé cooking with a cooker hood is prohibited. The use of a free flame is damaging to the filters and may cause fire accidents, therefore free flame cooking must be avoided. Frying of foods must be kept under close control in order to avoid overheated oil catching fire. Carry out fumes discharging in accordance with the regulations in force by local laws for safety and technical restrictions.
