Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

Before use, check that your network mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use or when plugged to the electric network.

Regularly check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service. Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service.

Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.

Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever.

Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.

Unplug the appliance when not in use or when emptying the dust container or cleaning or replacing the filters.

Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.

This appliance is not a toy, it is not supposed to be sat on.

Never use the appliance to vacuum matches, pointed objects, cigarettes, butts or other glowing things. Do not use it on wet surfaces or surfaces covered with cement or other substances that are too fine or even toxic when inhaled. Never vacuum any kind of liquid with this appliance, particularly flammable liquids.

Do not block the vacuum passage. If this should happen by accident, unplug the appliance before unblocking it.

Make sure not to point the vacuum cleaner at persons or animals, and especially stay clear of eyes and ears.

If you use the appliance with a full dust container or saturated filters, the appliance might get damaged. Make sure to check the good quality and placement of the dust container and/or filters.

If your appliance no longer vacuums correctly or if the dust container is full, clean the filter and empty the dust container in order to prevent the appliance from overheating.

Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician.

ASSEMBLING THE VACUUM CLEANER

Always remove the plug from the power socket before fitting or removing accessories!
- Insert the hose connector into the hose connection inlet and turn it clockwise until it locks. To remove the hose, turn the hose connector anticlockwise and pull at the hose connector.
- Fit the tube to the handle.
- Fit the tube to the floor brush.
- Removing tube and accessories: to remove the accessories, pull firmly apart.
The floor brush is ideal for the daily cleaning of carpets and hard floors. Setting with the bristles inside for cleaning carpets. Setting with the bristles outside for cleaning hard floors.
The appliance is delivered with the following accessories:

a crevice tool: for radiators, crevices, corners, baseboards and between cushions.
an upholstery brush: for curtains, cushions, edges, doors, mattresses etc.

OPERATION

  • Unroll a sufficient length of power cord and insert the plug into the power socket. Make sure the carrying handle is in low position. Switch on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch (carrying handle) with your foot.
  • You can adjust the suction power by using the wind-force adjuster on the handle. Use a low suction power for furniture and other delicate surfaces and use high suction power for fitted carpet and other floors.

AFTER USE

  • Stop the vacuum cleaner by pressing the ON/OFF switch (carrying handle).
  • Unplug the appliance from the power supply.
    Roll the power cord around the cord storage facility at the back of the appliance.
  • The carrying handle can be used to move the appliance. Never use the handle of the dust container to carry the appliance!
    After use we advise you to empty the dust collector to avoid smells and mildew that could be caused by damp dust particles that may have been vacuumed, and also to guarantee an optimal efficiency during the next use. To do so, see below.

Press the release button of the dust container and pull the dust container out.
- Remove the lid of the dust container by turning it anticlockwise and spill the rubbish.
Turn the lid back on the dust collector and put the dust collector back in the appliance until it locks in place.

CLEANING THE FILTERS

Filters

The filter system consists of: 1 accordion filter to vacuum the smallest particles (in the dust container)

1 nylon filter (around the accordion filter)

It is necessary to clean the filters regularly to avoid operating problems.

Cleaning the accordion filter

If you notice that even after having emptied the dust collector, the suction power is reduced, clean the accordion filter. To do so:

Take out the dust collector as described above.
- Rotate the dust collector's lid anticlockwise to take it off.
- Rotate the accordion filter from the dust collector's lid until it is unlocked.
Take the nylon filter from the accordion filter. If necessary, wash it in soapsuds. Make sure it is dry before putting it back in place.
- Rinse the bracket and accordion filter in water, if necessary with help of a soft brush, and dry them completely. Never put them in the washing machine and never dry them with a hair dryer.
To put the nylon filter and the accordion filter back, proceed inversely.

NOTE: After a certain number of cleanings the filters will be damaged or impossible to get back in their initial shape. In such case, please contact the nearest customer service to obtain new filters.

Cleaning the dust collector

Clean the inside of the dust collector with a damp cloth or sponge, but make sure it is totally dry before using the appliance again.

PRACTICAL HINTS

  • When cleaning stairs, we advise you to keep the unit in a vertical position.
    The vacuum cleaner requires no regular maintenance other than the filter cleaning tasks as detailed here above.
    If you notice a loss of suction power, it is probably due to one or a combination of the following events: blocked filter, full dust collector or blockage in tubes. If your appliance still does not work properly after you have checked those problems, please ask a qualified electrician for advice.
