CLEANING THE FILTERS
Filters The filter system consists of: 1 cyclone filter to vacuum the smallest particles (in the dust container) 2 motor filters (on top of the dust collector) 1 air filter, to vacuum the smallest particles (at the back of the appliance) It is necessary to clean the 3 last filters regularly to avoid operating problems. Motor filter To clean the motor filters (filters situated under the lid of the dust collector), switch off the appliance, take out the dust collector and turn its lid anticlockwise to take it off. Take the bracket with the white filter and also remove the black filter to wash them both in soapsuds (approximately every 3 months). Rinse the filters and let them dry. When the filters are completely dry, put them back in the appliance. To do so, put the black filter and the bracket with the white filter back in place correctly. Then put the lid back on, making sure that the lugs of the lid fit into the slots of the dust collector, and turn the lid clockwise gently to lock it in place. Make sure that the handle is aligned with the decorative part of the dust collector. Air filter This air filter (situated behind the grid at the back of the appliance) guarantees fresh air during cleaning. It should be replaced approximately every 3 months (depending on the operating frequency). Switch off the appliance, open the grid, remove the filter and clean it in soapsuds. When it is dry, put it back and close back the grid. NOTE: After a certain number of cleanings the filters will be damaged or impossible to get back in their initial shape. In such case, please contact the nearest customer service to obtain new filters. Cleaning the dust collector Press the release button of the dust container and pull the dust container out. Turn the lid of the dust collector anticlockwise to take it off and remove the motor filters. Put your fingers into the two half circles indicated by an arrow and turn anticlockwise gently. Then pull to take the cyclone filter out. You can unscrew the plastic bottom part to rinse it with water. Screw it back on after cleaning. Clean the inside of the dust collector, the lid and the cyclone filter with a damp cloth or sponge, but make sure they are totally dry before using the appliance again. When the dust collector and its lid are completely dry, put the cyclone filter back into the dust collector and turn the cyclone filter clockwise gently to lock it in place, making sure that the “triangle” of the filter is right next to the opening of the dust collector. Put the motor filters back in place and put the lid back on the dust collector in a correct way. Put the dust collector back in the appliance until it clicks into place. Copies of the I/B. PRACTICAL HINTS When cleaning stairs, we advise you to keep the unit in a vertical position. The floor brush is equipped with a hook, allowing you to attach the tube to the rear part of the appliance when it is in use, for instance when you want to move a piece of furniture, or after use when storing your appliance. The vacuum cleaner requires no regular maintenance other than the filter cleaning tasks as detailed here above. If you notice a loss of suction power, it is probably due to one or a combination of the following events: blocked filter, full dust collector or blockage in tubes. If your appliance still does not work properly after you have checked those problems, please ask a qualified electrician for advice.
