How to use the kettle for the first time?

Fill the kettle with cold water between the MIN and MAX marks, bring to a boil, empty, rinse, and repeat 2 to 3 times.

How to clean the kettle?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the outside with a soft cloth. For the inside, use a soft brush to remove limescale. Never immerse the kettle or its base in water.

How to descale the kettle?

Use a commercial descaling product following the package instructions. Then rinse thoroughly with clear water.

The kettle stops before the water boils, what to do?

Check that the kettle is properly placed on its base. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

How to use the keep warm function?

Set the temperature selector to the desired position (other than Min). The temperature is kept constant, without boiling (max 70°C). Do not operate the switch.

What to do if the kettle has run dry?

Unplug it, set the switch to off, wait 10 minutes, then fill with cold water. The overheating protection will then deactivate.

☐ Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Keep out of reach of children or incompetent persons.
From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician ^1 .
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Use only the base that is supplied with the jug kettle.
□ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever.
☐ Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning, storing or refilling it.
□ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
☐ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ Stand the appliance on a table or other stable surface so that it cannot fall.
☐ If your appliance has a separate base or a detachable cord, remove them from the jug kettle when filling it. If your appliance has a fixed cord, unplug it before filling it.
□ Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the heating element might be damaged. Do not overfill the jug kettle as boiling water might overflow.
☐ When using, make sure the lid is closed correctly. Never raise the lid when the jug kettle is in use and when there are risks of hot water projection due to the bubbling.
☐ Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when you open the lid.
☐ The metal housing of your jug kettle becomes very hot during use. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to carry it by the handle.
□ Always unplug the jug kettle after use.

BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION

For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.

OPERATION

With automatic cut-off

• Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it.
- Raise the lid and fill the tank with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the minimum mark and above the maximum mark in the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the water level indicator inside the jug.
- Put the temperature selector in MIN position.
- Close the lid by pressing until you hear a locking click and make sure it is closed correctly.
- Put the jug onto the base, plug into the wall socket and switch on. The pilot light situated near the temperature selector will come on. If it does not come on, check if the jug kettle is placed correctly on its base. If the problem persists, contact the nearest customer service.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled. However, you can switch it off anytime by pressing the switch.
- Keep the lid closed when pouring the water in order not to get burned.
- To boil water for a second time after your appliance has switched off automatically after the first boiling process, wait until water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.
• To open the lid, press its release mechanism and raise it.

With temperature control

• Remove the jug kettle from the base before filling it with water.
• Raise the lid and fill the tank with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the minimum mark and above the maximum mark in the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the water level indicator inside the jug.
• Put the temperature selector in the desired position (other than MIN). The pilot light comes on, indicating that the jug kettle is working. Do not press the switch.
• When you put the temperature selector in a certain position, the temperature of the liquid is maintained constant as long as the selector has not been moved and the appliance has not been unplugged.
• The maximum position corresponds to a temperature of approximately 70^ C. When using the temperature selector, water will not boil.

Caution: when pressing the switch, it cancels the operation of the selector and your jug kettle will operate according to the automatic cut-off system (it will stop automatically when the water boils).

BOIL-DRY PROTECTION

• This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device if accidentally switched on without water.
• In this case, switch off the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then pour in sufficient cold water to cover the element. This will reset the safety device. The kettle may then be used as normal. Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

- To avoid any risk of operating the appliance without water, it is absolutely necessary to unplug the appliance after use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To clean the plastic and metal parts, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. To remove lime from the inner walls of the jug, you can use a soft brush.
• Never use abrasive products
• On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water.

DESCALING

To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles.
