PREPARING TO USE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE
The RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE is designed for guests to select and cook their own food. You should, therefore, place the appliance in the centre of the table and serve the uncooked food on separate dishes.
Raclette parties are fun, but can be messy! It is advisable to place the appliance on a wipe clean surface, rather than your best tablecloth.
Instructions and suggestions for each function of the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE are given, but, of course, you can use all the functions at the same time.
USING FOR RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Before using the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE for the first time, wash the grill plate, Raclette pans, sauce bowl, fondue forks and fondue pot in heið soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly dry.
- Wipe all the top cooking surfaces of the grill plate and ralette pans with a very thin coating of vegetable oil. This will seal the PTFE cooking surfaces and help to prevent the food sticking and so making cleaning easier.
- Then plug the appliance into the electricity supply.
- Switch on with the illuminated on/off switch under the carrying handle, then heat for ten minutes in a well ventilated room, some smoke may be produced by the heating element. The heating will remove any residue left by the manufacturing process.
COOKING WITH THE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE
Switch on the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE and allow to heat for 15 minutes.
A) Grilling using the top pan
- It is simple to cook all sorts of food by placing them on the hot top pan. Add a little vegetable oil before cooking.
- You might like to try small steaks or sausages; mushrooms, tomatoes and courgettes; prawns, or combine your ingredients to create colourful and delicious kebabs.
The food will cook much quicker if it cut into thin slices or small cubes.
Fried eggs and omelettes can also be prepared on the top pan. - When not using the fondue pot, you should always place the stainless steel sauce bowl in the middle of the top pan. Why not fill it with your favourite sauce to accompany your food?

- Serve your grills with a selection of sauces, salad and French bread. For dessert, fruits such as banana and pineapple can be grilled and served with cream or ice cream.
B) Raclette
The best Raclette is achieved by using traditional Raclette cheese, but you can experiment with other cheeses, for example French Cantal or Greek Halloumi, for a variety of flavours and textures.
-For each person, cut about 100 grams of cheese into 2mm thick slices.
- Put the slices in the Raclette pans and place these under the heating element.
- In 3 to 4 minutes, the cheese will melt and turn golden brown. Season with ground black pepper and serve with potatoes cooked in their skins or fresh, crusty bread.
- Accompany the Raclette with pickles and salad.
- The Raclette pans can also be used for cooking individual eggs or omelettes, bacon, tomatoes, peppers etc.. After cooking the pans may be kept hot by placing them on the top pan.
- A useful hint is that delicate foods are best cooked at the cool positions closest to the carrying handles.
C) Oil Fondue
- Remove the dust cover, never leave this on whilst cooking.
- Fill the fondue pot with vegetable oil up to level between the maximum and minimum marks.
- Allow to heat for 20 minutes before cooking.
