Frequently Asked Questions - KB 3538 CLATRONIC

What types of food can I store in the cooler?
You can store pre-refrigerated foods to keep them cool, or hot foods to keep them warm (maximum 50-60 °C). The device is not designed to cool or warm foods at room temperature.
Can I use the device continuously in a car?
Yes, but only when the vehicle engine is running to avoid excessive battery discharge. Use MAX mode and plug into the 12 V cigarette lighter.
What is the difference between ECO and MAX modes?
ECO mode reduces energy consumption and is suitable for light loads. It only works on AC (220-240 V). MAX mode provides maximum power for faster cooling or keeping warm.
How to switch from cold mode to warm mode?
First switch off the device by setting both buttons to OFF, wait about 30 minutes, then select the new mode (COLD or HOT). Never switch directly.
Can I put hot food directly into the cooler?
The device keeps already hot food warm but does not reheat it. Cold foods will take about 2 hours to reach a warm temperature. For best results, preheat food before placing it in the cooler.
What to do if the device does not work?
First check the button settings (OFF/ECO/MAX and COLD/HOT). Ensure the device is properly connected to a working power source. On DC, check the fuse in the 12 V plug and the cigarette lighter.
How to clean the interior of the cooler?
Always unplug the device before cleaning. Use a damp cloth with a little dish soap to clean the interior and exterior. Never immerse the device in water. The lid can be removed by pulling it upward for easy access.
Is the lid removable?
Yes, the lid can be removed by pulling it upward out of its support. This makes cleaning easier. To put it back, align it and push it into place.
Can I plug the device into a car cigarette lighter socket?
Yes, the device can be plugged into a 12 V cigarette lighter socket. Ensure the vehicle engine is running to avoid draining the battery. Use MAX mode (ECO is not available on DC).
What is the maximum capacity of the cooler?
The capacity is 30 liters, which corresponds to about 30 cans of 33 cl or a small portable refrigerator.
