IMPORTANT y Ensure the voltage on the type plate is the same as that in your home. y The iron should always be off before plugging or unplugging from the wall socket. y Never yank the cord to disconnect from the wall socket; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect. y Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on a damp floor or when the appliance itself is wet. y Do not touch the plug with wet or damp hands. y Do not use the appliance if it is dropped or otherwise damaged or if the cable or plug are damaged. In the case of damage, take the appliance to an electrical repair shop for examination and repair if necessary. y Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself. This could cause an electric shock. y If an extension cord is used it must be suited to the power consumption of the appliance, otherwise overheating of the extension cord and/or plug may occur. y When leaving, even when only for a short while, always unplug the iron. y Do not leave the iron unattended while connected or on ironing board. y Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. y Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down, there may be hot water in the reservoir. y Never immerse the iron in water. y Always place the iron with its back on a firm flat surface when interrupting ironing and after use. y Keep the soleplate smooth. Avoid hard contact with a metal object. y The cord should not be allowed to touch the soleplate when it is hot. y Prevent water overflow. BEFORE INITIAL USAGE

y Remove all packaging material. y Clean the iron base (see cleaning and care). y Open the cover of water fill-in opening and fill distilled water into the water. For this, use the measuring cup. Do not use chemically de-calcified water. y Insert the power plug into a designated outlet and set the temperature regulator on the highest temperature setting. After the indicator light up, set the steam selection switch to position and iron on an old piece of cloth to remove possible residue. y With first use, these can be slight odour or smoke. But this is harmless and only of short duration. Make sure there is adequate ventilation.

OPERATION y Before selecting the temperature, read the instruction manual for the iron or the care advice on the tag of the clothing. y Note: If there is no care advice on the piece of clothing, then you should begin ironing with the lowest temperature. With lower temperatures, there will be less steam. y Caution: Synthetic fabrics can melt. Nylon Synthetic fabrics, such as nylon and polyester

Cotton Cotton MAX Linen Linen DRY IRONING y Connect the iron to a suitable mains supply outlet. y Ensure that the steam control knob is in position “ 0 “. y Select the setting on the temperature regulator.y When the indicator light goes off, the required temperature is reached. The iron is ready for use. y To turn off the iron, turn the temperature regulator counter-clockwise to position “ OFF ”, set the iron upright, and pull out the power plug.

STEAM IRON y Fill the water tank, as described under before initial usage. y Steam ironing can be used in the temperature ranges ., .., … MAX. For a reliable functioning of the steam function, the water tank must be filled to at least 1/4. y Spraying function: Press the spray button to moisten a spot to be ironed. Water will came out of the spray nozzle. y Steam Function: Turn the steam control knob to the required position, steam starts coming out from the holes in the soleplate. y Burst of steam: Turn the temperature regulator to the position “MAX”. The indicator light will goes off when the required temperature is reached then press the burst of steam button . This function provides an extra amount of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. y Push the extra steam button to remove stubbed creases. Wait a couple of seconds before pressing this button again. y The iron surface must always be kept in an upright position. y To turn off, turn the temperature regulator counter-clockwise to “ OFF ” and pull out the power plug. y Turn the appliance upside down and carefully pour the remaining water out of the water tank. Carefully shake the appliance. y Press the spray button to allow possible remaining water to come out more easily. Notice: With conventional steam ironing, water may leak from the soleplate if a too low temperature has been selected. If this happens, turn the temperature regulator to the advised position. Steam will recommence as soon as the appropriate temperature has been reached. SELF-CLEAN FUNCTION You can use the self-clean function to remove scale and impurities. Use the self-clean function once every two weeks if the water in your area is very hard. The self-clean function should be used more frequently. z Make sure the appliance is unplugged. z Set the steam control knob to position “ 0 “. z Fill the water reservoir via its opening. z Select the maximum ironing temperature. z Put the plug in the wall socket. z Unplug the iron when the temperature indicator light goes off. z Hold the iron over the sink, press and hold the self-clean button and gently shake the iron. Steam and boiling water will come out of the soleplate. Impurities and flakes (if any) will be flushed out. z Release the self-clean button as soon as all water in the tank has been used up. z Repeat the self-clean process if the iron still contains a lot of impurities. CLEANING y Before cleaning the Iron ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has completely cooled down. y Deposits on the soleplate may be removed with a rough cloth soaked in a vinegar water solution. y The casting may be wiped with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry cloth. y Do not use abrasives on the soleplate. y Keep the soleplate smooth. Avoid hard contact with metal objects. When your appliance shows defects, you can refer to your salesperson. Your salesperson will make sure any defect will be repaired as soon as possible. Repairs outside the warranty period You can always hand in your appliance to have it repaired outside the warranty period. This will of course not be free of charge. • TOMADO provides a 2-year warranty for all defects caused by hidden deficiencies which render the appliance useless for normal operation.

• The warranty runs from the date of purchase; we advise you to carefully save your receipt.

• Within the warranty period any defects in production or material will be resolved free of charge, by means of reparation, replacement of parts or replacement of the appliance as a whole.

• The warranty certificate has to be filled in by the sales person at the moment of purchase.

• Repairs will only be made under warranty in case it can proven (by means of a filled in warranty card and the receipt) that the day the complaint is filed falls into the warranty period.

• The warranty does not apply when defects or damages result from an accident, misuse, negligence (e.g. incorrect cleansing), or when repairs of alterations have been executed outside the authorized TOMADO service centre (excl. disassembling, as stated in the instruction manual).

• The warranty does not cover any defects arising when the appliance is connected to the wrong outlet voltage, not following the guidelines in the instruction manual and usual wear and tear.

• The warranty does not cover any defects arising from the lack of frequent descaling of appliances, whatever type of water has been used (especially for steam irons, coffee machines and water boilers).
