How to change the dust bag?

Press the release button and open the compartment lid. Pull the full bag by the cardboard tab to close it. Insert a new bag, ensuring the suction opening is not obstructed. Close the lid.

When should the motor protection filter be replaced?

Check it every time you change the bag. Replace it if it is very dirty or after vacuuming with a damaged bag. It is also recommended to change it every 5 paper bag changes.

The vacuum cleaner stops by itself, why?

This is the overheat protection. It can happen if the bag is full, the filters are dirty, or the suction paths are blocked. Unplug, wait 15 minutes, eliminate the cause, then restart.

How to clean the exhaust filter?

Open the bag compartment, remove the exhaust filter (micro-hygienic) and brush it gently. Replace it after 5 paper bag changes.

Can I vacuum ashes or liquids?

No, never vacuum glowing ashes, liquids, large pieces of glass, or sharp objects. This would damage the device and pose a danger.

How to use the stair lock system?

The Stair Lock System locks the rear wheels when the vacuum cleaner is placed on a step or inclined surface, preventing it from sliding. No additional action is required.

Where can I find replacement bags and filters?

The references are indicated in the manual: pack of 26 paper bags (ref. 45160008), pack of 5 paper bags (ref. 45120119), motor and exhaust filters, anti-allergic and activated carbon filter cassettes.

How to adjust the suction power?

Use the rotary regulator on the device or the wheel on the handle. Minimum setting for delicate fabrics, medium (Economic) for clothing and carpets, maximum for hard floors and very dirty carpets.

What to do if the bag full indicator lights up when the bag is empty?

This can happen if you vacuum a lot of fine dust (drilling, plaster). The bag pores clog and the display shows 'full'. Replace the bag in this case.

How to store the accessories?

The small nozzle, crevice tool and brush fit into the dedicated compartment on the vacuum cleaner. They can also be attached to the tube or handle. Use the clip for the nozzle during breaks.

• This vacuum cleaner meets the safety regulations for electrical appliances. However, Inexpert usage may cause personal injury and damage to property. Please read the operating instructions carefully before using the vacuum cleaner! Keep the instructions for use in a safe place for later reference.
• This vacuum cleaner may only be used in the household for dry objects. Do not use the vacuum cleaner to clean persons or animals.
• Any other types of use are carried out at the user's own risk and may be dangerous.
• Do not put vacuum cleaner to any non-typical use and do not leave it unattended while in operation.
• The manufacturer may not be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by use that is not in accordance with regulations or by improper usage.
• Connect appliance to 230 v. alternating current only. The socket should be protected using a 16-ampere fuse. If other appliances with a high connected wattage are a part of the same circuit, the fuse may blow when the vacuum cleaner is switched on. This can be avoided by setting the vacuum cleaner to its lowest cleaning power (min). before switching it on and increasing power to the desired level when the motor is running.
• Do not use the appliance without a filter bag and a motor protection filter.
• Pull out at least two thirds of the mains cable when using the appliance for a longer time to avoid any danger of overheating or damage.
• If the mains cable is damaged, the entire cable and reel must be exchanged by customer services.
• Do not vacuum any red hot ash, large pieces of broken glass, pointed objects or fluids.
• Do not vacuum any toner dust, which is used in devices such as printers or copiers. It may conduct electricity. Also, it might not be completely filtered by the vacuum cleaner's filtering system, thus getting back into the room air through the blower.
• Always remove mains plug after use and before cleaning the appliance or changing filter.
• Any repairs of electrical appliances may only be performed by an expert. The user might be exposed to major hazards if any inexpert repairs are performed.
• Do not keep the appliance directly beside a hot oven or heating unit.
• Children do not realise the dangers which may arise when electrical appliances are used. Therefore, never let children operate electrical appliances without supervision.

Operation

	Lock elbow of vacuum hose into the air intake opening. Put on the necessary nozzles. Nozzles may be put on the vacuum tube or hose.
	Pull out mains cable, put plug into socket. Press the ON/OFF tread key to start the motor.
	Electronic power control by variable transformer. Turn the vacuum power control by hand to set the desired power level.
	The suction force can additionally be controlled at the handle. Closed - high suction force Open - low suction force
In case of electronic power control we recommend to use the minimum power for drapes and delicate fabrics. Use medium power (economical) for clothes, upholstery or carpets. Use maximum power for wooden, stone and heavily soiled floors.
You can keep upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle and furniture brush in the built-in accessories compartment.
The accessories can either be put on on the tube or handle. Upholstery nozzle (1): for couches, armchairs Crevice nozzle (2): for small gaps Furniture brush (3): e.g. for shelves (to be put on top of crevice nozzle)

	Short break - You can hook the floor nozzle on the vacuum tube conveniently into the appliance to take a short break. To do this, plug the floor nozzle into the parking holder from above. Do not leave the vacuum cleaner unattended while it is switched on.
	After using the vacuum cleaner - Switch it off. - Remove mains plug from socket. - With your foot or your hand, press the key reel in the cable.
	Storage and transport Keep your vacuum cleaner in an upright position. Insert the hook on the floor nozzle into the mounting of the housing.
	Changing the filter Change the dust bag when the colour scale fills the window of the dust level indicator completely.

Changing the filter

	Press the unlock key and swing open the lid of the dust compartment until it locks into position.
	Close filter bag by pulling the strap. This serves to cleanly seal the full paper filter. Lift out filter bridge using the carrying lever, and dispose of paper filter, pulling out filter bag by the cardboard disk.
	Insert new paper filter into filter bridge (see imprint on filter). Make sure that the air intake opening of the paper filter is not closed. Do not damage filter paper when inserting filter! Close lid of dust compartment. IMPORTANT: The filter lock (according to the set of components included) prevents the lid of the dust compartment from being closed without a paper filter.
Dust bags are disposable items. They must not be used several times because clogged pores will reduce performance. How to check: • Put on the floor nozzle. All other nozzles will affect the function of the dust bag exchange indicator. • Switch on the vacuum cleaner and set the vacuum power control (if included) to full cleaning power. • Lift the floor nozzle a little off the floor. If the dust bag exchange indicator now shows that the dust bag is full, you need to exchange the bag.	Important information on the function of the dust bag exchange indicator The function of the indicator is set for mixed dust which mainly occurs in households: dust, hairs, carpet fluffs, threads, sand etc. However, if you take up a lot of fine dust such as drilling dust, sand or possibly gypsum or flour, the pores will get clogged. The dust bag exchange indicator will display "full" in such a case, even though the dust bag may not be completely full yet. The dust bag must be exchanged in this case because the cleaning performance will be reduced due to the clogged pores. However, if you take up a lot of hairs or fluffs from carpet or wool etc., the dust bag exchange indicator will react only after the dust bag has been filled taut.

Changing the motor protection filter

	Ceck motor protection filter every time you change the paper filter bag. Replace by a new one if it is very dirty. The motor protection filter can be found on the right side of the filter compartment's back wall after the filter bag has been removed. Always change the motor protection filter if you have used the vacuum cleaner with e leaky paper filter bag. Do not use the vacuum cleaner without a motor protection filter!
	A charcoal filter is used in vacuum cleaners to absorb smells which may develop in the dust bag. It can be found in the dust compartment. To remove charcoal filter, follow the direction of the arrow. IMPORTANT: Do not use appliance without a motor protection filter! A recommendation: Change at intervals not exceeding 6 months, but also when a distinct smell is emitted or if the paper filter is leaky.
	The motor protection filter is a sanitary micro filter. It can be found in the dust compartment. Open grid by pulling forward as indicated by the arrow. Change sanitary micro filter. IMPORTANT: Do not use appliance without a motor protection filter. A recommendation: Always change motor protection filter when exchanging the paper filter for the fifth time.
	Appliance with triple filtering cartridges have a highly specialised filter combination comprising the following filters: Submicron particulate filter: very high efficiency. S-class filter in accordance with DIN 24184. Especially suitable for persons suffering from allergies. Filters 99.997% of micro organisms 0.0003 mm in diameter. Activated carbon filter: Special smell-absorbing filter. Anti-bacterial fabric: To filter bacteria, mites etc. To remove triple filtering cartridge, follow the direction of the arrow. IMPORTANT: Do not use appliance without a motor protection. A recommendation: Change triple filtering cartridge every 6 months. Otherwise, efficiency and air permeability will be reduced.

Change the blow-off filter. The blow-off filter is also a sanitary micro filter. It can be found after the lid of the dust compartment has been opened.

A recommendation:

Always change the blow-off filter when exchanging the paper filter for the fifth time.

Stair lock system (according to the set of components included)

This unique mechanism serves to fix your vacuum cleaner securely to stairs or slanted surfaces. It blocks the rear wheels, preventing the appliance from slipping off when used on slanted surfaces or stairs.

Further important information

Overheat protection (heat indication) - vacuum cleaner will switch off automatically (according to the set of components included)

If the motor switches off automatically, you may continue cleaning after about 15 minutes. Please switch the appliance off in such a case (press ON/OFF key).

The appliance may switch off automatically if

• the nozzle, tube or hose is clogged by bulky objects that have been taken up
• the vacuum cleaner is used with a full dust bag
• the motor protection filter is very dirty or
• the appliance contains a very dirty blow-off filter.

The appliance may be used again after the problem has been remedied, with the waiting time mentioned above observed.

Cleaning and maintaining your vacuum cleaner

Always remove mains plug before cleaning the appliance. The vacuum cleaner - here mainly the dust compartment - and all accessories may be cleaned using a cloth or a commercially available cleaning agent for plastic materials. Appliance must be dried after cleaning. Clean lower side of the two floor nozzles from time to time using crevice nozzle.

Vacuuming with the dust box AIRBOX Empty the dust box after every use!

Open the lid to the filter

Before cleaning, remove the plug from the mains and take off the vacuum hose.

Press the open button within the handle (1), then lift the lid upwards (2). The lid will click into the top position.

Remove the dust box

Using the handle, lift the dust box upwards out of the vacuum cleaner.

Empty the dust box

Open the clips on the lid and take the lid away from the box. (1). Holding the dust box by the handle, tip into the dust bin (2) or more hygienically, into a plastic bag.
Normal house dust can be disposed of in the house rubbish. Slide the closed dust box into the slots on the inside of the filter box. Close the filter lid and press until the lid clicks into place. Never vacuum without the dust box! The filter box lid does not close without replacing the dust box never use force to close the lid!

Notes for maintenance and servicing with mesh filter or gauze filter (depending on the optional component version used)

Cleaning the filter of the dust box

Release pleated filter by turning it anticlockwise and remove it from the dust box. Pull the mesh filter off the pleated filter. Or pull out the gauze filter. (depending on the optional component version used) Clean both filters using a brush, or use lukewarm running water, if necessary.

When the filters are completely dry, put mesh filter on pleated filter. Then, insert pleated filter into the dust box turning the filter clockwise. Or put pleated filter into dust box turning it clockwise and insert the gauze filter. (depending on the optional component version used) Close dust box with the lid.

IMPORTANT Never vacuum without the pleated filter! Never vacuum using a damaged pleated filter! Dry the dust box as well if it has been washed.
