1. Using the Product as Intended

This car may only be used with an operating system (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta or Märklin Digital) designed for it.

2. Safety Notes

Make sure you read the following safety notes before using this Marklin product for the first time.

  • This toy train set must never be supplied with power from more than one power pack (max. 22V).
  • This toy train set may only be used with a switched mode power pack designed for toys.
  • Use only switched mode power packs and transformers that are designed for your local power system.
  • The 66201/66360 switched mode power pack or the 66471 transformer is suitable for this toy.
  • The switched mode power pack is not a toy.
  • Make sure you inspect the condition of the switched power pack and its connections to the wall outlet for damage at regular intervals (depending on how often the switched power pack is used to play with the train), at least once a week. This must be done with the switched power pack unplugged from the wall outlet. If you have the slightest suspicion that there is damage, the switched power pack may not be used again until it has been checked and repaired by the Märklin Repair Department).
    Pay close attention to the safety notes in the instructions for your operating system.
  • WARNING! Not suitable for children under 3 years. Sharp edges and points required for operation. Danger of choking due to detachable small parts that may be swallowed.

Misuse of the switched mode power pack can cause an electrical shock.

  • Do not expose the model to direct sunlight, extreme changes in temperature, or high humidity.
  • The LEDs in this item correspond to Laser Class 1 according to Standard EN 60825-1.

  • The cab control car is equipped with triple headlights and a red marker light that changes over with the direction of travel.
  • This lighting functions will all track power systems using 3-rail operation. It is not intended for conversion to 2-rail operation.

Märklin START UP can be added to and expanded with Märklin H0 or Märklin Digital. See your authorized Märklin dealer for advice.

5. Trouble Running

Headlights / marker lights do not work. Check the following:

  • Are all the wheels for the car sitting on the rails properly?
  • Is a connecting wire to the layout damaged? Replace the damaged wire.

Upon purchase of a Märklin product the firm of Gebr. Märklin & Cie. GmbH gives you a manufacturer's warranty of 24 months from the date of purchase in addition to and beyond the warranty performance rights available to you legally in your country vis-à-vis your authorized Märklin dealer as the contractual selling party. This warranty is given with the following conditions listed below. Regardless of where you purchased the product, you thereby have the possi bility of submitting for warranty claim defects or flaws occurring with the product directly to the firm of Märklin as the manufacturer of the product. The Märklin manufacturer's warranty only applies to the technology on the models. Visual defects or incomplete products can be claimed under warranty from the seller of the products as part of the warranty performance obligation.

Warranty Conditions

This warranty applies to Märklin assortment products and spare parts that have been purchased from any of our worldwide authorized Märklin dealers. The warranty card filled out by the authorized Märklin dealer or the sales receipt will serve as proof of purchase. We therefore recommend that you keep this warranty card along with the sales receipt in a safe place.

Warranty Coverage / Exclusions

This warranty includes, at the discretion of the manufacturer, correction free of charge of any defects or the replacement free of charge of damaged parts that are due to defects in design, production or material inclusive of the service performance connected with these defects. Any further claims are excluded.

Warranty claims become null and void

  • When the defect is caused by wear and tear or by normal wear of parts subject to wear and tear.
  • When the installation of specific electronic elements has been carried out by parties not authorized by the manufacturer for such installation.
  • When the product has been used in a manner not intended by the manufacturer.
  • When the information in the operating instructions provided by the manufacturer has not been followed.
  • Any and all claims arising from warranty, guaranty, or replacement due to damage are excluded if non-Märklin parts have been installed in Märklin products, and if these non-Märklin parts are not permitted by Märklin and if the damage or defect has been caused by these parts. The same applies to conversions that have not been carried out by Märklin or by service stations authorized by Märklin. Basically, the applicable disputable presumption in favor of Märklin is that the aforementioned non-Märklin parts and/or conversions are the cause of the defects or damages.

Repair or replacement of a product does not extend its warranty period. Warranty claims can be submitted directly to the seller, or the part to be submitted for warranty can be sent directly to the firm of Marklin along with the warranty card or the sales receipt and a summary of the problem(s) with the product. Warranty claims sent in with postage or shipping charges due cannot be accepted.
