  • Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
  • To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
  • Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

  • Use only cold water when fi lling.
  • The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks!
  • Do not exceed the MAX mark when fi lling, otherwise the water may boil over and cause burns!
  • Use the appliance only on a level work surface.
  • Only use the kettle with the accompanying base.
  • Switch the machine off before removing it from the base.
  • The base and exterior of the machine must not become wet.

Instructions

Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place. If you sell or give this article to other people please also pass on these instructions.

General

- Thanks to the adjustable thermostat you can use this device to keep water warm or allow food to simmer or boil. It is therefore also suitable for preparing instant or convenience foods, pasta and similar items.

Preparation

- Before using for the first time, boil fresh water at least twice in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or ingredients.

Lid

  • Simmering and keeping warm: When using this function please do not replace the lid as foam often forms which then overflows past the lid.
  • Boiling and switching off: In order to ensure that the device switches off automatically the lid must be in place.

Important Information

• Always use fresh water.
- Do not consume any water that has already been in the water container for more than one hour.
- Do not re-boil water that has been allowed to cool down.
• Always pour old water away.

Operation

Electrical connection

  • Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as that of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.
  • Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety socket.

Boiling Water and Automatic Switch-Off

  1. Place the machine on a fl at surface.
  2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Fill only up to the maximum mark (MAX). You can read off the water level in the water level display.
  3. Close the lid.
  4. Place the kettle flush on the base.
  5. Move the thermostat to MAX and turn the device on by the switch. To control lamp lights up.
  6. When the water is boiling the kettle switches itself off automatically unless you press the switch to interrupt or stop the water from boiling.

Careful when pouring! The water container also becomes hot. Always pour water that is no longer required away immediately.

Heating Water

  1. Place the machine on a fl at surface.
  2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Fill only up to the maximum mark (MAX). You can read off the water level in the water level display. Do not replace the lid.
  3. Place the kettle flush on the base.
  4. Move the thermostat to a value between „MIN“ and „PASTA“ and turn the device on with the switch. The control lamp lights up.
  5. The temperature has been reached when the control lamp goes out.

Note: The control lamp goes on from time to time during operation to indicate that the correct temperature is being maintained.

  1. If you would like to stop heating and remove some of the water, turn the device off by the switch.

Preparation of pasta/instant dishes/soups

  1. Place the machine on a fl at surface.
  2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Fill only up to the maximum mark (MAX). You can read off the water level in the water level display. Do not replace the lid.
  3. Place the kettle flush on the base.
  4. Move the thermostat (1) to „PASTA“ and turn the device on with the switch (8). The control lamp goes on.
  5. The temperature has been reached when the control lamp goes off.

Note: The control lamp goes on from time to time during operation to indicate that the correct temperature is being maintained.

  1. Place the food to be cooked (pasta/instant dishes/soups) in the water container, using the basket if necessary.

Note:

  • For 1 litre (max.) of water we recommend approximately 200-230g of pasta/noodles (for approx. 2-3 people).
  • If necessary the thermostat setting (1) should be adjusted to the filling quantity (pasta/noodles).

  • Once the desired cooking time has been reached turn the device off by the switch and remove the food.

Switching off

  • If you wish to switch the device off, turn the switch to 0 (off), the thermostat to MIN and remove the plug from the socket.
    • Emptying the water container.

Cleaning

  • Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
  • Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
  • Never immerse the device or the base in water or other liquids.

Water Container

  • Remove food residues with a damp cloth.
  • Wash out the kettle with a soft sponge and soapy water and then rinse with clear water.
  • Dry off the water container with a cloth.

Exterior of the Housing

Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.

Decalcifi cation

  • The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used.
  • If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
  • Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

Important Note!

After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times (approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do not consume this water.

The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee!

Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.

*) Damage to accessories does not mean automatic free replacement of the whole machine. In such cases please contact our hotline. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts are always subject to a charge.

Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing (e.g. motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc.) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!

The guarantee lapses in case of unauthorized tampering.

After the expiry of the guarantee

After the expiry of the guarantee repairs can be carried by the competent dealer or repair service against the payment of the ensuing costs.
