- Never disassemble or carry out maintenance on the appliance apart from that indicated in this manual. In the event of a fault or malfunction, do not try and repair the appliance yourself. Incorrect use or a lack of respect for the instructions herein may lead to serious accidents. Always contact Authorised Service Centres.
- This product must not be used if dropped or if there is visible damage or if the product has been dropped into water. Immediately remove the battery and take the product to a repair centre.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Keep the appliance and the power cable out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.

- This appliance is intended exclusively for indoor domestic use.

In order to reduce the risk of accidents, including: fires, electrocution, personal injury and scalding, both during use and during preparation, maintenance and storage, always take the fundamental precautions listed in this manual.
- The earthing system and highly sensitive residual-current circuit breaker, complete with magnetothermic cut-out for your domestic system, guarantee safe use of electrical appliances. Therefore, for your own safety, check that the electrical system to which the battery charger is connected complies with current laws.
- The battery charger is used to charge the batteries located inside the appliance. Do not use the appliance with the battery charger connected.
- Do not connect the battery charger to the mains if the voltage does not correspond with that of the domestic electrical circuit in use.
- Do not overload the sockets with adaptors and/or transformers. Only connect the battery charger to a single socket with current that is compatible with the supplied plug.
- Electrical extension leads that are unsuitable for the power rating or which are not compliant with law may overheat and possibly lead to short-circuiting, fire, power outage or damage to the equipment. Only use certified extensions, suitable for the power rating, that support at least 10A.
- To remove the battery charger from the socket, do not pull the power cable, but hold the plug itself to avoid damage to the plug and the cable.
- Do not pull or jerk the battery charger cable or expose it to stress (twisting, crushing or stretching). Keep the battery charger cable away from hot and/or sharp surfaces and elements. Avoid squashing the battery charger cord in doors or windows. Do not pull the battery charger cable tight around corners. Avoid stepping on the battery charger ENGLISH | 19 |cable. Do not walk over the battery charger cable. Do not wind the battery charger cable around the appliance, especially if the appliance is hot. Do not place the appliance on top of the charger cable; this can be dangerous.
- If the battery charger or the charger cable are damaged, they must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid any possible hazard.
- Do not use the battery charge barefoot and/or with wet body or feet.
- Do not install, charge or use the appliance outdoors or near containers full of water, e.g. sinks, bathtubs or swimming pools.
- Do not immerse the battery charger including the plug, in water or other liquids.

- The product should not be used in areas where there is a danger of explosions or in the presence of toxic substances.
- Do not vacuum liquid substances or damp dirt.
- Do not vacuum toxic substances, acids, solvents, detergents or corrosive substances. The handling and removal of dangerous substances must be carried out according to the indications of the manufacturers of these substances.
- Do not vacuum explosive powders or liquids, hydrocarbons, open flames and or extremely hot objects.
- Keep all parts of your body away from the suction nozzle and from any moving or rotating parts.
- Do not use the vacuum function on people and/or animals.
- Use the special carry handle for transport. Do not pull the cable of the battery charger. Do not use the cable of the battery charger as a handle. Do not lift the appliance using the the cable of the battery charger.
- Do not position the product near sources of heat such as fireplaces, stoves and ovens.
- Do not obstruct the openings and grills on the product.
- Turn off the appliance before connecting the motorized brush.
- Do not expose the appliance, the battery charger or the ENGLISH | 20 |battery to temperatures under 0°C or over 40°C.
BATTEY USE / BATTERY CHARGE
- For the purposes of recharging the battery, only use the detachable supply unit provided with this appliance.
- During the recharging the appliance must only be connected to safe extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appliance.
- Before connecting the battery charger make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the plate data.
- If the appliance has not been used for a long time, before performing any maintenance or service, unplug the power cable from the mains electricity.
- The battery charger is used to charge the batteries located inside the appliance. Do not use the appliance with the battery charger connected.
- Do not attempt to use batteries that are broken.
- The battery used in this appliances must not be replaced by the user, but by the Polti authorized repairing center.
- Replacing the battery or the charger with a model different than the original could override the appliance’s integrated protection system.
- Do not heat/expose to sun/ or burn batteries; they may explode.
- Mechanically crushing or intentionally breaking the battery may cause an explosion.
- Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure (va- cuum conditions).
- Do not place batteries in the microwave oven or place the product near electromagnetic fields, such as an induction plate.
- The batteries must be removed from the appliance before its disposal (see section “Disposal of the battery”).
- The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery.
- The battery is to be disposed of safely and fulfilling all requirements of EU Directive 2012/19/EU relating to end-life of electrical and electronic (WEEE Directive)". ENGLISH | 21 |ENGLISH | 22 |
CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT
This appliance is intended for internal home use as a vacuum of dry material, in accordan- ce with the descriptions and instructions con- tained in this manual. Please read these in- structions carefully and keep them. If this manual is lost, it can be consulted and/or downloaded from the website www.polti.com. Only vacuum domestic dirt. Do not vacuum up liquids. Do not use on debris or chalk, cement or resi- dues from building sites or brick laying. Do not use on earth and sand/soil, etc. Do not use on ash, soot and combustion resi- dues (fireplaces, barbecues, etc.). Do not use on printer, photocopier or fax to- ner and ink powder. Do not vacuum pointed, sharp or stiff objects. The appliance only functions correctly with the collector inserted, and complete with all its parts. Only usage as detailed in this instruction ma- nual constitutes correct usage. Any other use may damage the appliance and invalidate the warranty. POLTI S.p.A. reserves the right to make the aesthetic, technical and construction changes it deems necessary, without prior notice.
INFORMATION FOR USERS
Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU, regarding electric and electronic appliances, this appliance must not be disposed of with domestic waste, but must be sent to an official collection facility. This appliance complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EU. The crossed-out bin symbol on the appliance indicates that, at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life, the user must hand over the appliance to an appropriate collection centre for electric and electronic waste or, according to the legislation in force in the country, leave the used appliance with the distributor when buying a new product to replace it. Proper separate waste collection to facilitate the subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the appliance helps to prevent negative effects on the environment and human health, and promotes recycling of the materials the product is made of. Unlawful disposal by the owner may result in the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation.
DISPOSAL OF THE BATTERY
The batteries supplied contain substances which are potentially harmful to the environ- ment. Before disposing of the appliance, remove the batteries, do not throw them away with household waste but take them to an official collection centre. The Li-ion batteries can explode if exposed to high temperatures or thrown into a fire. Before disposing of the battery, make sure that it is discharged, leaving the appliance operating until it is off. To remove the battery, press the two side buttons of the battery and pull upward (21). IMPORTANT Forzaspira SR is a practical vacuum that can be used both as an electric upright and as a portable, wireless vacuum guaranteeing maximum freedom of movement. It is li- ghtweight, manageable and reaches everywhere thanks to the folding handle.
1. PREPARATION OF THE
APPLIANCE Remove the appliance from the packaging, checking that the product is intact and that all the parts are present.
1.1 APPLIANCE ASSEMBLY
- Attach the handle to the central body (1) and fasten it with the screw supplied (2). - Attach the brush (3). To remove the brush, press the locking button (4). - Push the unlock button of the portable va- cuum cleaner in order to detach itself from the body (11). - Assembly the battery to the portable va- cuum cleaner (22). - Assemble the portable vacuum cleaner to the body.
1.2 CHARGING APPLIANCE
The battery has to be charged before the pro- duct is used for the first time. - Make sure that the switch is off and connect the battery charger connector to the plug of the appliance (5).ENGLISH | 23 | - Connect the plug of the battery charger to an easily accessible mains socket. - The indicator light (B) will start to flash. When both indicator lights are on ( C B), the battery is charged (6). The recharge time of the battery, when fully discharged, is around 5 hours. - Before removing the battery charger from the mains socket, disconnect the connector from the appliance. BATTERY DURATION The duration of the battery depends on use. Below are the duration times of the battery based on various uses: ELECTRIC UPRIGHT PORTABLE VACUUM When the indicator light (B) flashes, turn the appliance off and charge it (see para- graph 1.2).
2. ELECTRIC UPRIGHT USE
2.1 Ensure that Chapter 1 has been followed.
2.2 To turn on the appliance move the cursor
to the Floor or Carpet position, based on the type of surface to be cleaned (7). Floor: all types of floor (ceramic, parquet, terracotta). Carpet : rugs and carpets The rotary brush is activated with the Carpet function. The bristly cylinder will start to turn for a better suction action against the surfa- ces.
2.3 For greater suction power, the
Turbo func- tion can be activated by pressing the Turbo (8) button. The indicator light A will come on (6). To disable it just press the Turbo (8) button, the indicator light A will switch off (6).
2.4 By pressing the button on the handle
it is possible to tilt the vacuum to reach under furniture and beds, letting you clean without getting tired from bending (9).
2.5 To turn off the appliance, return the cur-
sor to the OFF position.
Model SR 25.9_Plus only, the brush has LED lights which turn on when it is star- ted (10), ideal to help you identify dirt on the surfaces.
3. PORTABLE VACUUM USE
3.1 Ensure that Chapter 1 has been followed.
3.2 Press the release button of the porta-
ble vacuum to remove it from the handle (11).
3.3 Press the ON/OFF button to turn it on
3.4 To clean the most difficult spots, move
the suction lance forward (13). It is possible to attach the small brush, located under the por- table vacuum (14), to the suction lance.

WARNING: Never exceed the “FULL” level
shown on the dust container, otherwise the filters will clog reducing the suction power of the appliance.
WARNING: To empty the dust collector, the
appliance must always be removed from the handle.
WARNING: Pressing the PUSH button opens
the base of the tank, it is therefore recom- mended that this operation be carried out over a waste bin. Clean after every use.use a damp cloth and tap water. Do not use detergents of any type. Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, avoi- ding extreme cold and heat, to protect bat- tery performance.
5.1 CLEANING THE FILTERS
To clean the filters, proceed as follows: - Empty the dust-collector tank as described in Chapter 4. - Press the dust-collector tank release button (16). - Remove the filter unit (17). - Separate the filter protection mesh from the filter (18). - Rinse all the components under running wa- ter and let them dry naturally away from sources of heat for at least 24 hours. - Replace everything repeating the steps de- scribed previously in reverse order. The filter should be replaced every 6 months. The filters are sold at household appliance stores, at Polti authorized service centres and
To clean the brush, proceed as follows: - Separate the brush from the vacuum unit by pressing the release button (4). - Turn the brush over and lift the cylinder lock hook (19). - Remove the bristly cylinder (19). - Clean the bristly cylinder of the brush (20). - Reposition everything and close the brush again by performing the operations descri- bed previously in reverse order.
6.1 Ensure that the appliance is switched off
WARNING: Check that all the components
of the dust-collector tank are dry before reassembling them.
WARNING: Check the filters during cleaning.
Replace the filters when visibly damaged.
WARNING: Do not clean the filter with the
brush as it can be damaged, thereby redu- cing the filtering capacity. Do not use deter- gents, do not rub the filter, and do not wash it in a dishwasher. ENGLISH | 24 |7. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION

ENGLISH | 25 |WARRANTY This appliance is for domestic use only and is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase against any defects present at the time the goods are handed over; the date of purchase must be proven via a proof of pur- chase document valid for tax purposes and issued by the seller. For repairs, the appliance must be accompa- nied by proof of purchase. This warranty does not affect the consumer rights deriving from European Directive 99/44/EC as regards some aspects of sale and warranty of consumer goods, rights whi- ch the consumer should uphold with respect to the seller. This warranty is valid in the countries which adhere to European Directive 99/44/EC. For other countries, local regulations on warran- ties apply.
WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS
During the warranty, Polti guarantees free re- pair of a product with a manufacturing or fac- tory defect and, therefore, the client is not lia- ble to pay for any work or materials. In case of irreparable defects, Polti may repla- ce the product free of charge. To avail of the warranty, the customer should visit one of the Polti Authorised Service Cen- tres with proof of purchase from the seller va- lid for tax purposes and bearing the date of purchase of the product. Without proof of purchase and the relative date of purchase, the work will be charged for. Store the proof of purchase document safely for the whole duration of the warranty.
WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
- Any fault or damage not deriving from a manufacturing defect.
- Any fault due to improper use or use other than that indicated in the instruc- tion booklet, an integral part of the pro- duct sales contract.
- Any defect resulting from force majeure (fires, short circuits) or caused by third parties (tampering).
- Damage caused by the use of non-original Polti parts, and repairs or modifications performed by staff or service centres not authorised by Polti.
- Damage caused by the customer.
- Parts (filter, brush, hose, battery, etc.) da- maged by use (consumable goods) or normal wear and tear.
- Any damage caused by limescale.
- Defects resulting from lack of mainte- nance/cleaning according to the manu- facturer’s instructions.
- Assembly of non-original Polti accesso- ries or those that have been modified or which are not suitable for the appliance. Inappropriate use and/or use not compliant with the instructions for use and any other warnings or indications contained in this ma- nual invalidates the warranty. Polti takes no responsibility for any direct or indirect damage to people, objects or animals caused by non-compliance with the instruc- tions indicated in this instruction booklet, re- garding warnings for use and product main- tenance.
