With its EcoActive-Filter, Lecologico traps dust in water; then the dirty water is simply poured away - with no risk of dispersing the dust into the air around you. When you've finished, you can put your Lecologico away perfectly clean. With the Polti Lecologico you can sigh with relief indeed. Its 5-stage HEPA filter system ensures that the air coming out of the vacuum cleaner is perfectly clean. The EcoActive-Filter also does away with the need for dusty bags and all the relative problems.

A complete set of accessories is provided to help you to carry out all cleaning jobs quickly and without effort. We suggest you read this instruction booklet carefully before using your Lecologico.

What is EcoActive-Filter?

EcoActive-Filter is the revolutionary “green” heart of Lecologico, because its effectiveness is based on the natural purifying force of water. Just the water flow contained in the special filter and its bubbling imprison dirt, preventing all contact with dust, and avoiding dispersal of dust back into the air.

What is the HEPA filter?

Lecologico has a special extra powerful washable HEPA filter, previously used only in professional applications requiring the utmost hygiene. This filter catches even the finest dust, pollens, dust mites and other microorganisms and is easily rinsed clean when dirty.

PRECAUTIONS

KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
  • Any use which does not comply with these instructions will invalidate the warranty.
  • The wiring system to which the appliance is connected must always comply with the laws in force.
  • Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the mains voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the data label of the appliance and that the power outlet is connected to earth.
  • Always turn off the appliance at the on/off switch before unplugging it.
  • If the appliance is left unused, always disconnect it from the mains. Never leave the appliance unattended with the cable plugged into the mains.
    • Always make sure the appliance is unplugged before performing maintenance work of any kind.
  • Do not pull the power cable out of the socket, but grasp the plug itself to avoid damage to the socket.
  • Do not allow the power cable to be twisted, crushed, stretched, or come into contact with sharp or hot surfaces.

  • In case of breakdown or malfunction switch off the appliance and never attempt to disassemble it, but refer to an authorized Polti Service Centre.
  • To avoid prejudicing the safety of the appliance when repairing or replacing accessories, use only original spare parts.
  • Do not wind the power cable around the appliance, especially when the appliance is still hot.
  • Do not use the appliance to suck up acids or solvents, as these might cause serious damage to the appliance and above all do not suck up explosive dust or liquids, as these could cause explosions on coming into contact with the inside components of the appliance.
  • Do not suck up toxic substances.
  • Do not suck up burning or incandescent objects such as embers, ash or other material in which combustion is taking place.
  • Do not suck up detergents or other substances which could generate foam inside the water container, as this could cause malfunctioning.
  • Do not vacuum up liquids.
    • Water container can be filled with tap water.
  • Do not suck up materials such as cement, chalk etc. which solidify once they come in contact with water thus damaging the appliance.
  • During refilling with water, switch off and disconnect the appliance from the mains.
  • It is necessary to keep the unit in horizontal position during operation.
  • Let the appliance cool down before cleaning it.
  • Before storing the appliance make sure that it has completely cooled down.
  • We recommend you use original Polti products only, as products of other brands may not be suitable for use in Polti products and could cause damage.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use if the appliance has been dropped, has visible signs of damage or leaks.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT

This appliance is intended for home use, to vacuum up solid dirt, as described and in accordance with the instructions provided in this manual. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them, as you may find them useful in future.

The crossed-out bin symbol on the appliance means that at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from other waste.

The user is responsible for taking the ap-

pliance to an appropriate collection facility at the end of its useful lifespan or, if purchasing a replacement, similar appliance, for leaving the old one with the reseller at the time of the purchase.

Appropriate separate collection to permit recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal helps to prevent negative impact on the environment and human health and promotes recycling of the materials making up the product.

Unlawful disposal by the owner involves the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation.

PREPARING FOR USE

  • Push the upper cover opening button (8) positioned on the upper cover (7).
  • Raise the upper cover turning it upwards as shown in figure 1.
  • Raise the water container handle (6) to the height of the inlet hole as shown in figure 7.
  • Remove the water container (5) pulling it outwards (fig. 8).
  • Pull the water filter group (20) upwards and then rotate it outwards (fig. 9/10).
  • Fill the water container (5) with ordinary tap water up to the Max Water Level as in figure 2. The necessary quantity of water is 400 cc.
  • Replace the filter group (20) into the water container (5) so that the elbow tube (26) is inserted between the two protuberances of the water container (fig. 13).
  • Gently push the water container handle (6) until the two grooves on the handle are fitted between the two pins (4) on the appliance (fig. 14).
  • Replace the upper cover (7) making the two pins (2) on the cover (7) fit into the holes (3) on the appliance, pressing the button (8) again.
  • Insert the tube (E) into the tube junction (9), turning it clockwise until it locks into place (fig. 3).

FUNCTIONING

  • Unwind the cable, removing its whole length from its storage compartment, by pulling the plug (27) towards you (fig. 4).
  • Connect the plug to the mains socket.
  • Press the ON/OFF switch (11) (fig. 5); position 1 of the indicator lights (13) on the handle will start flashing. At this point, your appliance is in standby mode (fig. 6).
  • The ON/OFF switch (11) can be pressed with the foot to avoid having to bend over.
  • Keep the +button (12) pressed for at least 2 seconds (fig. 6). The Lecologico will start functioning at minimum speed; the flashing indicator lights will stop flashing and remain on.
  • There are four power levels. We suggest minimum level for curtains, medium-low for sofas, armchairs and pillows, medium-high for carpets and high for floors and hard surfaces (ceramic, marble etc.).
  • To increase the speed, push the + button (12). Every time you press the button + (12), motor power will increase by one level.
  • The increase by one level is indicated by the illumination of one further stage of the indicator lights.
    • Similarly, every time you push the - button (14),

motor power will decrease and one stage will switch off.

  • To put the machine in stand-by mode, press the +button (12) for at least 2 seconds; the indicator lights (13) will start flashing again.
  • Do not vacuum up any detergent or foamy substance. They could prejudice the correct functioning of the appliance.

EMPTYING AND CLEANING THE WATER CONTAINER

  • Switch off the appliance at the mains switch (11) and disconnect the power supply cable from the mains.
  • Disconnect the tube from the junction by turning it in the opposite direction of that indicated in paragraph "Preparation for use" (fig.3).
  • Push the upper cover opening button (8) positioned on the upper cover (7).
  • Raise the upper cover (7) turning it upwards as shown in figure 1.
  • Raise the water container handle (6) to the height of the inlet hole as shown in figure 7.
  • Remove the water container (5) pulling it outwards (fig. 8).
  • Pull the water filter group (20) upwards and then rotate it outwards (fig. 9/10).
    • Empty the container (5) and rinse it.
  • Unhook the elbow tube locking ring (25) by pulling it outwards (fig.11).
  • Pull the elbow tube (26) from the filter body (24) until it slides off (fig.12)
  • Divide all the components as described in the key and then rinse them under running water (if the sponge filter is damaged, contact a Polti Authorized Service Centre for replacement).
  • Reassemble the water filter group (20) by repeating the operation in reverse order.

NOTE: before reassembling the water filter, make sure that all the parts have been properly dried.

  • Replace the filter group (20) into the water container (5) so that the elbow tube (26) is inserted between the two protuberances of the water container (fig. 13).
  • Gently push the water container handle (6) until the two grooves on the handle are fitted between the two pins (4) on the appliance (fig. 14).
  • A special cleaning brush (5-A) is supplied for easy cleaning of the water container (5); it may also be used to clean the appliance's hose connections and the inside of tools.

NOTE: Do not use the brush for cleaning the outside of the appliance.

FLOAT ACTION

If the water becomes very dirty during use of the product, replace it in the manner described in the chapter "Emptying and Cleaning the Water Container". When the dirt sucked into the water container (5) reaches the maximum allowed level, aspiration will automatically be blocked by the special safety float (22). In this case, there will be an increase in the motor rpm.

After 10 seconds, the appliance will automatically go into stand-by mode and the four indicators (13) will start flashing.

To resume cleaning operations, following the indications in the chapter on emptying and cleaning the water container, then refill the container with water.

ATTENTION: Before starting to use the appliance, keep it disconnected from the electricity mains for at least 30 seconds, to allow for the safety system to reset.

BIO ECOLOGICO

Bioecologico is an anti-foaming and deodorising product based on natural substances; it prevents foaming inside the water filter thus ensuring correct functioning of the appliance. When diluted inside the dirt collection tank, Bioecologico also acts as an effective deodoriser while the appliance is running, and thanks to its composition which contains Tea Tree and other natural substances, it prevents unpleasant smells inside the dirt collection tank and releases a fresh clean fragrance into the environment.

Use:

  • shake the bottle before use and remove the lid;
  • hold the bottle upright and squeeze 5 ml into the dispenser. Stop squeezing and pour the contents of the dispenser into the dirt container on the appliance;
  • add water according to the instructions of the appliance.
  • use the recommended quantity of Bioecologico every time you refill the dirt collection tank.
  • Recommended quantity: 5 ml

Note: a possible change in the colour of the liquid does not alter the functioning or the efficiency of the product.

USING THE ACCESSORIES

Accessories can be connected directly to the hose (D) or to the telescopic tube (A).

USING THE TELESCOPIC TUBE (A)

To increase or decrease length, press the release button and extend or reduce length as desired.

Connect the brush to the telescopic tube. Press the selector button on the brush (B1) with your foot to adapt to a different surface being vacuumed without bending down. The position with bristles extended is recommended for all non-carpeted floors.

The position without bristles is recommended for carpets.

MULTIPURPOSE NOZZLE (F)

The multipurpose nozzle is recommended for cleaning upholstery surfaces such as the joints of sofas, armchairs, mattresses, car upholstery, etc.

LANCE FOR CLEANING CORNERS (G)

The lance (G) is recommended for thorough vacuum cleaning of hard-to-reach spots such as skirting-boards and folds in sofas, armchairs, upholstered furniture and car upholstery.

SOFT BRUSH (H)

The soft brush has soft bristles for dusting delicate surfaces such as picture frames, books, etc.

PARQUET BRUSH (I)

The parquet brush is designed to clean delicate surfaces; it has bristles and wheels in a special material to avoid damaging such surfaces.

AUTOMATIC CABLE WINDER

Before putting your vacuum cleaner away, rewind the power cable by pressing the button (15), as shown in fig.16, letting it flow gently through your hand for smooth rewinding.

USE OF THE ACCESSORIES HOLDER (16)

The accessories storage allows you to fasten the tube with the brush assembled onto the appliance body.

Repositioning on the appliance body: make the groove on the back of the brush slide into the guide of the accessories holder on the appliance (Fig.17).

CLEANING THE HEPA FILTER (19)

Clean the filters as follows:

  • Simultaneously pull the two opening levers of the air outlet filter (18) inwards to release the air outlet filter grill (17) (fig. 15).
  • Remove the Hepa filter (19) from its seat.
  • Rinse the filter under cold running water. After washing it, shake it gently to eliminate any residues of dirt and excess water.

NOTE: allow the filter to dry naturally, away from direct sources of light and heat. It is advisable to wait 24 hours before replacing the filter in the appliance.

  • Replace the filter with a new one if it is torn.
  • The filter should be cleaned every 4 months.

WARNING: Do not clean the filters with the brush as they can be damaged, reducing their filtering capacity.

Do not use detergents, do not rub the filter, and do not wash it in a dishwasher.

CARE OF YOUR APPLIANCE

  • Before attempting any maintenance operation, make sure to always disconnect the appliance from the mains
  • To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth.
