How to choose the right cutting comb?

Use the small comb for short cuts (3-21 mm) and the large comb for long cuts (24-40 mm). Refer to the position table in the user manual.

How to clean the trimmer?

Make sure the device is switched off and unplugged. Remove the comb, open the shaving unit, and use the included brush to remove hair. Do not use abrasives.

How to replace the shaving unit?

Remove the old unit, place the two arms of the new unit into the grooves and push until you hear a click.

What to do if the trimmer no longer cuts properly?

Clean the shaving unit. If the problem persists, replace the shaving unit.

Can I use the trimmer without the comb?

Yes, you can remove the comb for a very short cut or for outlining.

Is the trimmer waterproof?

No, avoid any contact with water. Clean only with the included brush.

• Check if the voltage indicated on the mains plug corresponds to the mains voltage in your home before you connect the appliance.
  Make sure the appliance does not get wet.
• Store the appliance at a temperature between 15^ and 35^ C.
• Protect the instruction video from dust, humidity, too high or too low temperatures and magnetic fields (i.e. television sets or loudspeakers).
  Do not open the protective flap of the video cassette and do not touch the tape.
  If the video is stored in a cold environment, do not use it until it has reached room temperature.
• Insert the video cassette with the window facing upwards.

Clipping with comb attachment:

Select the small or large comb attachment, depending on the desired hair length (see table).

1 Slide the comb holder carefully into the guiding grooves of the appliance until you hear a click.
2 Turn the Presicion Zoom Lock™to the desired hair length setting (see table).
3 insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
4 Switch the appliance on.

If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb, remove the comb attachment and blow and/or shake the hair out of the comb.

Clipping without comb attachment

1 Remove the comb attachment by pulling it off the appliance.

Clean the appliance every time you have used it.

Cleaning

Do not use abrasives, scourers or liquids such as alcohol, petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.

1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the mains before you start cleaning it.
2 Remove the comb attachment.
3 Open the cutting unit.
4 Clean the cutting unit and the inside of the appliance with the brush supplied.
5 Close the cutting unit. Push the cutting unit until you hear a click.

Replacement

A worn or damaged cutting unit should only be replaced with an original Philips cutting unit.

1 Remove the old cutting unit.

2 Place the two lugs of the new cutting unit into the guiding slots and push the unit back onto the appliance.

If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced by Philips or an authorised Philips service centre, as special tools and/or parts are required.
