Frequently Asked Questions - RAR501 OREGON SCIENTIFIC

How to install batteries in the main unit?
Remove the battery compartment cover on the back. Insert 4 UM-4 (AAA) 1.5 V batteries respecting polarities. Press RESET after each battery change.
How to synchronize wireless sensors?
After inserting batteries in the sensor and selecting a channel (1, 2 or 3) using the selector, press RESET. The main unit automatically searches for the sensor within 30 minutes. If synchronization fails, reset both devices.
What does the mold alert icon mean?
The mold alert icon flashes when relative humidity is 60% or higher, indicating a high risk of mold formation. It stops flashing when humidity drops below 60%.
How to change temperature unit (Celsius/Fahrenheit)?
Using a pencil or fine object, press the °C / °F button located on the back of the main unit to switch between degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit.
What to do if the display shows 'LL.L' or 'HH.H'?
The codes LL.L (temperature) and HH.H (temperature) mean the measurement is below or above the measurement range. Check that the sensor is within a valid temperature range: -20°C to 60°C for sensors, -5°C to 50°C for the main unit.
How to reset the device?
Use a fine object (pencil, paperclip) to press the RESET button located on the back of the main unit or on the sensor. This restores default settings.
What is the maximum range of the sensors?
The transmission range is 30 meters (100 feet) in an unobstructed environment. Obstacles such as walls, doors, and furniture can reduce this range.
How to know if batteries are low?
The low battery icon appears in the area of the main unit or wireless sensor. Replace batteries with new ones and press RESET.
Can I add more than 3 sensors?
No, the device supports up to 3 sensors maximum (channels 1, 2, 3). Additional sensors will not be recognized.
How to interpret weather forecast icons?
The icons display forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours within a 30-50 km radius: sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy. Refer to the legend in the manual.
