2. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

This appliance complies with EMC regulations regarding materials coming into contact with food.
3. SAFETY WARNINGS
- Before using your appliance for the first time, read the following instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Keep this manual throughout the entire working life of the appliance.
- Make sure that the mains voltage in your home corresponds to that indicated on the appliance. Only connect the appliance to an AC power supply.
- The electrical safety of your appliance is only guaranteed if it is connected to an efficient earth installation. If in doubt, contact a qualified professional.
- The appliance is designed for domestic use only. Any other use is considered unsuitable and therefore dangerous.
- In order to avoid electric shocks, do not submerge the mains connection, cable or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Only use the appliance with the mains connection assembly provided. Do not use any other type of mains connection.
- Make sure that the inside of the grill plug box is completely dry before inserting the connection assembly. Shake the grill tray in order to remove any excess water and then dry the inside with a dry cloth.

Do not move the appliance whilst hot. After use, unplug and leave to cool.

Do not leave the appliance on unattended. Keep out of the reach of children. Individuals suffering from motor system impairments should not be permitted to use the appliance.
- Do not leave the appliance exposed to the elements (rain, sun, frost, etc.). The appliance is not designed for outdoor use.
- When the appliance is switched on, it generates extremely high temperatures which may cause burns. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles provided.
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
- Before connecting the appliance to the mains, insert the connection assembly into the plug box and turn the thermostat to '0'.
- Do not let the cable rub against sharp corners, become trapped or come into contact with the hot surfaces of the appliance.
- If the mains connection assembly, cable or plug become damaged, have them replaced by an authorised Technical Assistance Centre.
- Never use any electrical appliance if the cable or plug are damaged, if it is not working properly or if it has been damaged in any way. Take the appliance to an authorised Technical Assistance Centre for examination and/or repair.
- This appliance should not be used by physically, sensorially or mentally handicapped people or people without experience or knowledge of it (including children), unless they are supervised or instructed in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be watched to ensure they do not play with the appliance. - For greater protection, we recommend installing a residual current device (RCD) with an operational residual current not exceeding 30mA . Ask your installer for advice.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
4. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Before using your appliance for the first time, clean the grill plate with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive detergents or metal scourers.
After cleaning, dry the grill plate thoroughly. Make sure you dry the inside of the grill plug box located underneath one of the grill tray handles thoroughly.
After drying, coat the grill plate with a little salad oil, butter or margarine.
5. USING YOUR APPLIANCE
- Turn the thermostat with pilot light to the '0' position and insert the mains connection assembly into the appliance's plug box (fig. 2).
- Plug the appliance into the mains and select the required cooking temperature by aligning the thermostat with the pilot light in the connection assembly. The pilot light will come on. When the pilot light switches off, this indicates that the grill tray has reached the selected temperature.
Thermostat:
- After use, turn the thermostat back to '0', unplug the appliance and leave to cool before handling.
6. HOT ZONE
- The grill is equipped with a hotter zone "hot zone". This zone is hotter that the rest of the grill, and can be used for cooking foods with different heat requirements at the same time.
7. TIPS
- In order to prolong the life of the non-stick coating on the grill tray:
- Only use wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils.
- Do not cut food on the tray or use sharp objects for handling food items.
- Do not leave plastic objects that may melt on the tray whilst switched on.
- Make sure food items are cut uniformly in order to ensure optimum results.
8. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the mains and leave to cool.
Unplug the connection assembly from the plug box before cleaning the grill tray.
Grill plate
Clean the grill plate with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. After cleaning, dry the grill plate, paying special attention to the plug box, which should be dried thoroughly. Do not use metal scourers or abrasive detergents that may damage the non-stick surface. The plate can also be washed in the dishwasher. After each wash, coat the grill plate with salad oil, margarine or butter.
Drip tray
Clean with warm water and detergent. The tray can also be washed in the dishwasher.
Mains connection assembly
Clean the outside of the connection assembly by wiping with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the assembly in water or any other liquid.
9. STORAGE
Store the mains connection assembly in such a way as to prevent it falling or being knocked.
Before storing, make sure the appliance is clean and dry.
Store the barbecue on a stable surface.
10. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
