Frequently Asked Questions - Discover Karaoke ION

How do I connect my iPad to the Discover Karaoke?
Use the included 1/8" TRS cable to connect the iPad's headphone output to the system's iPad input. Set the input selector to PAD.
How do I use the Discover Karaoke with a computer?
Connect the included USB cable from the system's USB port to your computer. Set the input selector to USB. Make sure the system is selected as the default audio device in your computer's sound settings.
What should I do if I hear no sound?
Check that the system is powered on (POWER switch to ON). Make sure the input selector matches the source being used. Check volume levels (MASTER VOLUME and MIC VOLUME). If using a computer, check that 'USB Sound Device' is selected as the default playback device in the audio control panel.
How do I adjust the microphone volume?
Turn the MIC VOLUME 1 and MIC VOLUME 2 knobs to adjust the volume of each microphone. Use MASTER VOLUME for the overall volume of the final mix (music + mic).
How do I add echo effect to my voice?
Turn the ECHO knob to add reverberation. This simulates room acoustics and adds depth to the sound.
Can I connect external speakers?
Yes, use the MAIN OUT (stereo RCA) output to connect external speakers. External speakers will replace the built-in speaker.
What software or app can I use?
The Discover Karaoke is compatible with most karaoke software. We recommend The Karaoke Channel online (www.ionaudio.com/discoverkaraoke) and the The Karaoke Channel Mobile App for iOS (iPhone/iPad).
How do I connect the system to power?
Connect the included power adapter to the system's power input, then plug it into an electrical outlet. Set the POWER switch to ON.
Is the sound distorted?
Decrease the MASTER VOLUME or the computer/iPad volume. On the computer, check that the 'Speaker' and 'Wave' levels are not too high in the audio mixer. Avoid pushing volumes to maximum.
Can I use two microphones at the same time?
Yes, the system has two microphone inputs. Connect the included microphones and adjust their volume individually with the MIC VOLUME 1 and 2 knobs.
