9. Convection/Combination - Gril/Combination

A) Convection/Combination

  1. Microwave is a kind of high frequency electromagnetic wave, which is commonly distributed in nature. But the existing form of microwave is dispersed so that it cannot be collected together for heating purpose. The key component of magnetron of microwave oven will transform the energy of electricity to microwave and huge energy of microwave fi eld is established under the closed cavity. So the molecule of food is caused to vibrate at very high speed and the friction heat produced will cook the food in a fast way.

  2. There is 3 properly of microwave, that is

a) absorbability, the microwave can cause the excess vibration of molecule of various food so as to obtain the heating purpose. But the infi ltration ability is largely depend on the size, thickness and properties of the food.
b) penetrability, microwave can penetrate through ceramics, glass, temperature-resistant plastics.

It is required to use the containers whose material have good microwave penetrability to achieve best heating result. See the below utensils guide.

c) reflectivity, microwave would be reflected by the metal wall of interior cavity so as to establish an even magnetic field, thus can prevent the overheating of partial area

1) To ensure sufficient ventilation, the distance of back of oven to the wall or cabinet should be at least 10cm , side of oven to the wall or cabinet should be at least 5cm , the top of oven to the ceiling or cabinet should be at least 20cm .
2) Do not place any object on the top of oven.
3) The position of the oven shall be such that it is far from the TV, Radio or antenna as picture disturbance or noise may occur.
3) The oven shall be so installed that the plug is accessible.

Generally speaking, the containers which are made of heat-resistant ceramic, glass or plastic is suitable for microwave cooking. Never use the metal containers for microwave cooking and combination cooking as spark is likely to occur. You can take the reference of below table.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

The following basic precautions should always be followed when using electrical appliance:

  1. Read all instructions before using.
  2. Make sure the voltage in your living area corresponding to the one shown on the rating label of the appliance. And the wall socket is properly grounded.
  3. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity

A. Do not overcook the food.
B. Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing bags in the oven.
C. Do not heat oil or fat for deep drying as the temperature of oil cannot be controlled.
D. After use wipe the waveguide cover with a damp cloth, followed by dry cloth to remove any food splashes and grease. Built-up grease may overheat and begin to cause smoke or catch fire
E. If materials inside the oven should smoke or ignite, keep oven door closed, turn

oven off and disconnect the power supply

G. Close supervision is necessary when using disposable containers made from plastic, paper or other combustible material.

  1. To reduce the risk of explosion and sudden boiling:

A. Do not place sealed containers in the oven. Baby bottles fitted with a screw cap or teat are considered to be sealed containers.

B. When boiling liquid in the oven, use the wide-mouthed container and stand about 20 seconds at the end of cooking to avoid delayed eruptive boiling of liquids.

  1. Never operate the oven further if the door is damaged or the oven malfunction or supply cord is damaged. Return the appliance to the nearest authorised service centre for repair and maintenance.

Never try to adjust or repair the oven yourself.

  1. If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a qualified technician in order to avoid a shock hazard
  2. After cooking, the container is very hot. Using gloves to take out the food and avoid steam burns by directing steam away from the face and hands.
  3. Slowly lift the furthest edge of dishes cover and microwave plastic wrap and carefully open popcorn and oven cooking bags away from the face.
  4. To prevent the turntable from breaking
    A. Let the turntable cool down before cleaning.
    B. Do not place hot foods or utensils on the cold turntable.
    C. Do not place frozen foods or utensils on the hot turntable.
  5. Make sure the utensils do not touch the interior walls during cooking.
  6. Do not store food or any other things inside the oven.
  7. Do not operate the oven without any liquid or food inside the oven. This would do damage the oven.
  8. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infir persons without supervision.
  9. Only allow children to use the oven without supervision when adequate instructions have been given so that the child is able to use the oven in a safe way and understand the hazards of improper use.
  10. Any accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries to persons.
  11. Do not use outdoors.
  12. Save these instructions.

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

  1. The LED Display will flash 3 times when plugged in power supply. Then it will flash, Prompt you set the current clock and cooking procedure

LED Display It will show the clock time, cooking mode and left operation time, which is depend on the current set mode.

2. Clock setting

  1. Touch Clock button
  2. Turn Time weight/Auto Defrost knob set clock
  3. Touch Clock button again
  4. Turn Time weight/Auto Detrost knob set minute
  5. Touch Clock one more time wait for 5 seconds

  6. Increase or decrease cooking time during operation by turning auto defrost time weight button if necessary

4. Child lock function

All the buttons are de-activated in this mode. Use this feature to lock the control panel when you are cleaning or so that children can not use the oven unsupervised.

To set child lock:

  1. Touch and hold Pause/cancel about 3 seconds or until the LED appears OFF.

To cancel child lock:

  1. To unlock, touch and hold Pause/cancel for about 3 seconds or until LED appear colon . A beep sound will be heard.

5. Auto reminder

When your preset cooking procedure have finished, the LED Display will show 'END' and six beep sound will be heard to prompt you to take out food. If you do not press Pause/cancel button once or open the door the beep will be sounded at an interval of 3 minutes.

5. Pause/Cancel Press Pause /cancel button once to

  1. Stop the oven temporarily during cooking.
  2. Clear the enter if you make a mistake during programming.

7. To cancel a programme during cooking

Touch the Pause /cancel twice.

3. Microwave cooking

Press Power button, LED display will cycle to show 100P, 80P, 60P, 40P, 20P, 100P
100P: High power, the magnetron is energized all the operation time.
30P: Medium High power, 80% microwave power.
50P: Medium power, 60% microwave power.
40P: Medium Low Power, 40% microwave power.
20P: Low power, 20% microwave power.

  1. Select the desire microwave power by touching Power button consecutively.
  2. After select power ,set cooking time by turning the Time weight /Auto Defrost knob
  3. For example you want to cook the food for 10 minutes and thirty seconds .

  4. You can change the cooking time during cooking

NOTE :

  1. The max time you can set is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.

9. Convection/Combination Grill/Combination

Press this button LED Display will cycle to show C - C1- C2 - G- G1- G2

A) Convection/Combination

C: Convection, the convection unit will be energized during operation time.
C1: Combination of convection and microwave cooking. Convection unit and magnetron is energized in an alternate way.
C2: Same as above except that the magnetron operation time. More magnetron operation time.

Convection function allow you to grill poultry, make cakes, cookies etc.

Touch the "conv/combi grill/combi" button consecutively to select desired menu

  1. After select desired cook means, press Instant/Start to confirm the selection. Change the convection temperature by turning TimeWeight/Defrost.

If you skip cooking time setting, you need touch instant/start twice to start cooking.

B) Grill/combination

G: Grill, the heat element will be energized during operation time.

G1: Combination of Grill and microwave cooking. Heat element and magnetron is energized in an alternate way.

G2: Combination of Grill and microwave cooking. Heat element and magnetron is energized in an

alternate way, but more microwave cooking time.

TEMPERATURE SELECTION

You can select the temperature depending on the programm you are using. The following temperature selections are possible: 80^ , 100^ , 120^ , 140^ , 160^ , 180^ , 200^ en 230^ .

For defrosting you select a temperature of 80^

For baking the temperature can be selected between 120^ and 180^ .

When using the grill select a temperture between 180^ and 230^

When using a combination (f.ex. grill/microwave) the temperature can not exceed 180^ .

USE OF CONVECTION AND GRILL

Press the conv. Combi button to select the desired programm.

Select the desired temperature by turning the "temp. time weight/auto defrost" button.

Press "instant/start" button to confirm the setting

Select the desired cooking time and possible pre-heat time.

Press instant/start to start the cooking process.

10. Auto Defrost

Directly turn the Time weight/Auto Defrost knob to select defrost cook procedure AD1: for detrosting meat.

AD2: for detrosting poultry.

AD3: for detrosting seafood

Press the "instant/start" button to confirm

Use the "auto defrost/time weight" button to select the weight.

For detrosting meat, the weight range from 0.1Kg to 2.0Kg

For detrosting poultry, the weight range from 0.2 to 3.0Kg

For defrosting seafood, the weight range from 0.1 to 0.9Kg

Select desire weight, then press Instant/start button to begin operation.

Adjust the cooking time during operation if necessary.

11. Auto cooking

The oven has default cooking menu for simple operation. When the LED fl ash colon press the Auto cook button and LED will cycle to show AC1 - AC2 - AC3 - AC7 AC8.

Select describe cook menu, set cook weight or volume (for cook menu AC7, AC8, you do not need to set weight or volume). Touch Instant/Start begin cooking. For detailed cook procedure and tips,

refer to the Auto cook table in next page . You can adjust the cook time during cooking

AC1 Rise/Pasta

Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes. Place rice in boiling water with 0.25 to 1 teaspoon salt in a deep and large bowl. Refer the water volume as follows

Rice after cooking, stand cover for 5 min. or until water is absorbed.

Pasta during the cooking, stir several times. After cooking, stand for 1 or 2 minutes Rinse pasta with cold water

AC2 Fresh vegetable

Place vegetable in a microwave-sate bowl. Add water

Cover the bowl. After cooking stir and allow to stand. Add amount water according to the quantity

AC3 Frozen vegetables

Same as fresh vegetable 0.2 - 0.8kg

AC4 Popcorn

Place only one bag of prepacked microwave popcorn on the centre of the turntable. 0.085 - 0.1kg

AC5 Beverage

Use a big mouth mug. Do not cover. (be careful, the beverage will be very hot. Sometimes liquids heated in cylinder containers will splash out when the cup is moved.) 250 - 500ml

AC6 Potato

Pierce each potato and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with some water. 0.45 - 0.65kg

AC7 Pizza

This function is for reheating the chilled pizza. Place pizza on turntable. 0.15kg

AC8 Fish

Wash fi sh thoroughly and remove scales. Make a slit on the skin of the fi sh. Put o a shallow dish. Sprinkle lightly with some ingredients. After cooking, stand for 2 minutes. 0.45kg

Note:

  1. The cook time above based on the food which is of the room temperature of 20-25 C except specially noted in the above cooking menu A5. Time may vary for the food in different temperature.
  2. when cooking the potatoes and fi sh it is suggested to cover the food with a layer of plastic thin fi lm to prevent the loss of water
  3. The temperature, weight and shape of food will largely influence the cooking effect If any deviation has been found to the factor noted on above menu, you can adjust the cooking time for best result.

12. Automatic start

If you do not want the oven start operation immediately you can activate the automatic start function as follows:

First set the current clock, cooking procedure and time.

And hold down the Clock pad for 3 seconds and the hour will start to blink. Enter the time you expected to start by pressing the keypad. Later LED will show the current clock and the oven will be started automatically at your preset time.

Preset time can be viewed by depressing the Clock button.

Once the Automatic start function has been activated:

  • Press the Instant/Start pad if you intend to operate the oven immediately;

  • Press the Pause/Cancel pad if you intend to cancel this function.

Note: Always set current clock before you programme the automatic start function.

13. Multi stage cooking

For best results, some recipes need different cook menu during different stage of cook cycle.

You can program your oven to switch from one power menu to another Example :you want cook food with 100p microwave power for 3 minutes then grill food for 9 minutes .

Select de desired microwave power (100p) by pressing the "power" button.

Set the cooking time by turning the "time weight/auto detrost" button

Select the cook procedure (grill G) by pressing the "conv/combi grill/combi" button. Select the cook time for the grill (9 minutes).

Press the "instant/start" button to start cooking.

When microwave power cooking is finished, microwave oven will begin grid operation automatically

Operation notes:

  1. Never operate the oven empty.
  2. If you turn the food during operation, press the Instant/start button once and the preset cooking procedure will continue.
  3. If you intend to remove the food before the preset time, you must press Pause/Cancel button twice to clear the preset procedure to avoid unintended operation of next time use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the oven at regular intervals

Disconnect the power supply cord before cleaning.

Exterior:

The outside may be cleaned with mild soap and warm water, wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid the use of harsh abrasive cleaners.

Door:

Wipe the door and window on both sides, the door seals and adjacent parts frequently with a damp cloth to remove any spills or spatters. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Control panel:

Care should be taken in cleaning the control panel. Wipe the panel with a cloth dampened slightly with water only.

Do not scrub or use any sort of chemical cleaners. Avoid the use of excess water.

Interior walls:

I'm clean the interior surfaces, wipe with a soft cloth and warm water for hygienic reasons. After use wipe the waveguide cover in the oven with a soft damp cloth to remove any food splashed. Build up splashes may overheat and begin to smoke or catch fire. Do not remove the waveguide cover. Do not use a commercial oven cleaner abrasive or harsh cleaners and scouring pads on any part of your microwave oven.

Never spray oven cleaners directly onto any part of your oven.

Avoid using excess water. After cleaning the oven, ensure any water is removed with a soft cloth.

Turntable/ Rotating ring/Rotating axis

Wash with mild soapy water and dry thoroughly

1) Arrange food carefully, place thickest areas toward outside of dish.
2) Watch cooking time, cook for the shortest amount of time indicated and add more time as needed.
3) Cover foods before cooking check recipe for suggestions: paper towels, microwave plastic wrap or a lid.

Covers prevent spattering and help foods to cook evenly. (Helps keep oven clean).

4) Shield foods

Use small pieces of aluminium foil to cover thin areas of meats or poultry to avoid overcooking.

5) Stir foods: From outside to centre of dish once or twice during cooking, if possible.
6) Turn foods

Foods such as chicken, hamburgers or steaks should be turned over once during cooking.

7) Rearrange foods: Like meatballs halfway through cooking both from top to bottom and from the centre of the dish to the outside.
8) Allow standing time After cooking ensure adequate standing time

Remove food from oven and stir if possible.

Cover for standing time which allows the food to finish cooking without overcooking
8) Check for doneness

Look for signs indicating that cooking temperature has been reached. Doneness signs include:

-Food steams throughout, not just at edge.
-Poultry thigh joints move easily.
-Pork and poultry show no pinkness...
-Fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork

9) Condensation

A normal part of microwave cooking. The humidity and moisture in food will influence the amount of moisture in the oven. Generally, covered foods will not cause as much condensation as uncovered foods. Ensure that the ventilation openings are not blocked.
