USER MANUAL 232135 PRINCESS

  • 2002/95/EG5 Classic Filter Kettle Article 232135 / 232133 General This attractive Princess Classic Filter Kettle, one of the products in our Classic range, is constructed from sturdy plastic with a brushed stainless-steel finish. Your kettle can filter and boil water very quickly. The appliance has a jug fitted with a removable lid with integral Brita Memo, a Brita water filter cartridge, and an external indication of the water level. The Kettle can boil 1 l filtered water or 1.7 l unfiltered water. The Brita water filter cartridge removes calcium carbonate and other substances, such as chlorine, that afect the smell and taste of your drinking water. In addition, the filter cartridge also reduces the concentration of aluminium, specific heavy metals (such as copper and lead) and certain pesticides that may be present in the water. Moreover organic contaminants will also be filtered out of the water. Consequently, the filter yields optimum freshly filtered water – ideally suited to the preparation of delicious hot and cold drinks, and to cooking delicious meals. The Brita filter also reduces the formation of limescale in your kettle. The kettle’s base is connected to a 220 - 240V mains power supply. The jug can rotate through 360° on the round base. The power cord can be stored by wrapping it around the convenient lugs on the base. Operation and controls See Figure 1. The appliance has the following features: 1 On/Off switch with indicator light 2 Handle 3 Cover 4 Filter-holder lid 5 Release button, filter-holder lid 6 Filter-holder filling opening 7 BRITA Memo - the cartridge exchange indicator 8 Filter holder 9 Filter-holder grip 10 Brita filter (removable) 11 Spout 12 Jug 13 Water-level indicator 14 Base 15 Power cord and plug Before use for the first time 1 Take the appliance out of the packaging. 2 Remove the filter holder from the jug, and replace with the standard lid. 3 Boil a full jug of water. 4 Dispose of the boiled water. Make sure that you do not spill any water on the base. 4 To avoid damage to your kettle, when boiling filtered water always fill the jug6 Classic Filter Kettle Article 232135 / 232133 with a minimum of 0.7 l and a maximum of 1 l water. Filling the jug without the filter holder 1 Detach the jug from the base. 2 Take hold of the filter holder’s grip and remove the unit from the jug. 3 Fill the jug with the required amount of water. To avoid damage, fill the jug with a minimum of 0.7 l and a maximum of

1.7 l water. Make sure that you do not

spill any water on the base. 4 Fit the standard lid to the jug. Boiling water 1 Place the filled jug on the base, and insert the plug in the wall socket. Push the On/Off switch downwards so that the indicator lamp illuminates. 2 The jug kettle is now switched on, and the water will now begin to heat. The jug kettle switches off automatically a few seconds after the water has come to the boil. However, this automatic cut- out operates only when the filter- holder’s lid is closed securely. If so required, you can stop heating the water by pushing the On/Off switch upwards. 3 The indicator light extinguishes once the jug kettle is switched off. 4 A further quantity of water can be boiled once the appliance has cooled down (after about 5 minutes). 5 The kettle is fitted with a triple safeguard which prevents the kettle from producing too much steam, boiling dry, or overheating. The safeguard will switch off the jug kettle if it is operated without water. Allow the jug kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before using it again. Maintenance and cleaning
