Tips
- Place the food that requires the longest cooking time in the bottom steam container.
- The removable bases have holes in them for steaming eggs.
Setting the steam time
The steam time can be set between 1 minute and 1 hour.
- Turn on the applicane by pressing the On/Off button. The set steam time will be shown on the display.
- Press the 'SET' button. The text 'STEAMER' will flash on the display. The default steam time is 00:20 (20 minutes). This can be adjusted using the buttons.
- Select the desired steam time using the 'HR' (hours) and 'MIN' (minutes) buttons. If you accidentally select a steam time which is too long, keep the button pressed. The counter will zero itself after a short period of time.
- Release the button as soon as the correct time has been selected. After a couple of seconds, the display will stop flashing and the indicator will be lit red. This indicates that the heating element has been turned on.
Tips
The table below gives an indication of the time required to steam some types of food. The exact times required depend on the food, the meal and your own taste.
| Product Quantity Steam time (minutes) | ||
| Fresh potatoes 500 gr. 20 - | 25 | |
| Chicken's eggs | -10 - 20 | |
| Broccoli 400 gr. 15 - 20 | ||
| Fresh pears 500 gr. 15 - 20 |
Steaming and keeping warm
The heating element turns on as soon as the steam time is selected. The steam containers will be filled with steam after a couple of minutes. The remaining steam time will be shown on the display.
A buzzer will sound a couple of times after the steam time has elapsed. The appliance will then switch to the keep-warm function and the indicator will be lit green. The keepwarm function will operate for a maximum of 1 hour. After this time has elapsed, a buzzer will sound and the appliance will turn itself off.
PLEASE NOTE
The steam containers and the lid will be hot when the appliance is turned on! Use oven gloves or an oven cloth to touch these accessories.
Note If the water reservoir becomes empty whilst steaming, a continuous buzzer will sound and the indicator will flash. It will then be necessary to refill the appliance with hot water. This will prevent damage to the heating element and will ensure that the steam is only interrupted for a short period of time. If the appliance is not refilled within one minute, it will turn itself off.
Steaming rice
- Fill the rice container with rice. Use 100 g per person.
- Add approximately 1.5 dl of water per 100g of rice to the rice container.
- Set the steam time (see 'Setting the steam time'). The steam time should be approximately 30 minutes.
Setting the timer
The timer can be used to set the time (maximum of 12 hours) after which the steam cooker must start steaming your meal.
- Turn on the appliance by pressing the On/Off button. The set steam time will be shown on the display.
- Set the desired steam time (see 'Setting the steam time').
- Press the 'SET' button. The text 'TIMER' will flash on the display.
- Select the desired time using the 'HR' (hours) and 'MIN' (minutes) buttons.
- Release the button as soon as the correct time has been selected. After a couple of seconds, the display will stop flashing and the device will switch to the stand-by mode. The stand-by mode can be recognized by 'TIMER' flashing on the display. The time on the display shows the remaining time before the appliance turns on. Once the time has elapsed, the appliance will turn on and the steam time will commence.

Cleaning and maintenance
- Make sure the plug has been removed from the plug socket and the appliance has cooled down.
- Use a damp cloth to clean the inside (water reservoir) and outside of the base and dry it thoroughly.
- Clean the accessories (steam containers, rice container, bases, lids and partition) in warm, soapy water.

PLEASE NOTE
- Do not use metal objects or a scourer, because they may cause scratches.
- Never immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in water. Never clean the appliance or the accessories in a dishwasher.
- Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning products.
Descaling
Scale will be deposited on the heating element at a rate depending on the hardness of the water. For this reason, the heating element must be cleaned at regular intervals.
- Fill the water reservoir to just above the heating element with a mixture of 50% water and 50% (cleaning) vinegar.
- Set the steam time to 1 minute to heat the vinegar solution. A warm vinegar solution removes the scale better than a cold vinegar solution.
- Turn off the appliance and allow the vinegar solution to take effect for an hour.
- Remove the vinegar solution and thoroughly rinse the water reservoir to remove all the vinegar.
- Clean the appliance (see Maintenance and cleaning).
