Frequently Asked Questions - ARC180BW BESTRON

How to use the Bestron ARC180BW rice cooker?
Place the appliance on a flat surface. Measure rice and water using the provided measuring cup (see proportion table), then pour into the inner container. Place the glass lid, plug in the appliance, press the ON/OFF switch then the COOK switch. The COOK indicator lights up. After about 20 minutes, the appliance automatically switches to WARM mode. Wait 10 minutes before serving.
What quantity of rice and water to use?
Use the provided measuring cup. For 1 portion of rice, use 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. For 2 portions: 2 cups of rice and 3 cups of water. For 3 portions: 3 cups of rice and 4 cups of water. And so on up to 10 portions: 10 cups of rice and 11 cups of water. The maximum capacity is 1.8 liters, about 1350 g of rice for 8-10 people.
How long does it take to cook rice?
Cooking time is about 20 minutes, but may vary depending on rice type. The appliance automatically switches to keep warm when rice is cooked. It is recommended to wait an additional 10 minutes before serving for the rice to fluff up.
How to clean the rice cooker?
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wash the glass lid, inner container, measuring cup and rice spoon in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.
What to do if the rice is overcooked or undercooked?
If rice is overcooked, check the water amount: too much water can make it sticky. If undercooked, add a little water and restart cooking manually. Use the recommended proportions. Cooking time may vary depending on rice type (e.g., brown rice needs more water and time).
Can I use other foods besides rice?
This appliance is designed only for cooking rice. It is not suitable for other foods. Use it exclusively according to instructions to avoid risk of malfunction or damage.
How does the keep warm function work?
After cooking, the appliance automatically switches to WARM mode and the corresponding indicator lights up. The rice is kept warm for up to 5 hours, but it is advisable to serve within one hour to avoid drying out. To turn off, press the ON/OFF switch.
Is it safe to leave the appliance unattended?
The appliance is designed for safe use with automatic switch to keep warm, but it is recommended not to leave it unattended for long periods. Keep out of reach of children under 8 years and never cover the appliance.
What to do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the appliance. The cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazard. Do not attempt to repair yourself.
Where can I find spare parts?
Contact Bestron after-sales service or an authorized dealer. Always use original parts. For recycling, take the appliance at end of life to a WEEE collection point.
