- The electrical safety of this appliance is only guaranteed when it is connected correctly to an effective earthing system as required by applicable electrical safety standards. This important safety requirement must be verified and, if in doubt, request a thorough check of the system by a qualified technician. DO NOT immerse the iron, the power cord or the plug in any kind of liquid. DO NOT leave the hot iron in contact with easily flammable fabric. IMPORTANT GUIDELINES The appliance is designed to work with tap water; however, if the water in your area is very hard, mix the tap water (50%) with distilled and/or demineralised water (50%). Salt concentration in water in certain seaside areas is very high: in such cases it is important to use “demineralised water for irons” available on the market. If in doubt, only demineralised water for steam irons must be used. Do not use diluting agents, scented liquids or descaling agents as these substances can damage the product. Do not use water from dryers, air-conditioners and rain water. The reservoir may contain some water as each product is tested before being put on the market. It is recommended to place a cloth between the iron and the fabric when using the iron for the first time. It is recommended to direct a jet of steam into the air before starting to iron, for any residual condensation to be let out. PREPARATION Sort the laundry according to the international symbols shown on the label; if this is missing, sort according to the type of material. Start to iron the garments that require a lower temperature so as to reduce idle time (the iron requires less time to warm up than to cool down) and eliminate the risk of burning the fabric. synthetic, acrylic, nylon, polyester: low temperatures; wool, silk: medium temperatures; cotton, linen: high temperatures; do not iron. USE
FILLING THE RESERVOIR
Lift the reservoir water fill cover (1) and fill the water reservoir without overflowing. Once finished, lower the cover (1). IRONING
- Connect the plug (8) to a suitable socket.
- Press the iron/boiler ON/OFF button (2).
- Adjust the iron temperature (10) according to the international symbols on the clothing labels and wait for the plate temperature LED (9) to go off.
- Turn the steam adjustment knob (7) to obtain the desired amount of steam.
- When the steam (ready) LED (6) lights up and remains on, you can start ironing. The plate temperature LED (9) goes on and off intermittently while ironing, thereby indicating that the appliance maintains the optimal temperature and pressure.
- Press the steam button (11) to steam iron.
- Dry iron by not pressing the steam button (11). CAUTION: TO PREVENT DROPS OF WATER LEAKING FROM THE PLATE, ONLY USE THE STEAM BUTTON (11) AT HIGH TEMPERATURES.
FILLING THE RESERVOIR WHILE IRONING
- When the water in the reservoir is below the minimum level, the no water LED (4) lights up and the iron stops producing steam.
- Lift the reservoir water fill cover (1) and fill the water reservoir without overflowing. Once finished, lower the cover (1) completely.
- The appliance is ready to continue ironing. MAINTENANCE
The boiler must be cleaned after 20 hours of operation, in order to prevent limescale from forming. The boiler cleaning LED (5) starts blinking when the boiler must be cleaned. However, you can start ironing. To clean the boiler, follow the “Sequence of operations” below.EN
ATTENTION! The boiler must only be cleaned when cold. NOTE: Failure to carry out this operation will make the warranty null and void. Sequence of operations:
- Disconnect the plug (8) from the socket.
- Place the boiler on a wash basin.
- Shake the base to help the limescale chips detach (Fig. B).
- Remove the cap cover (12) at the bottom of the boiler by turning it anti-clockwise (Fig. C).
- Loosen the cleaning cap (13) by turning it anti-clockwise with a coin (Fig. D).
- Let the water and limescale drain from the hole.
- Shake the boiler once again for the remaining water and limescale chips to come out.
- Tighten the cleaning cap (13) by turning it clockwise with a coin.
- Set the cap cover (12) in place by turning it clockwise. Do not tighten the cleaning cap (13) too tightly as the thread may be damaged. Do not clean the boiler with detergents, anti-limescale products, vinegar or any other type of substance. The boiler must be cleaned when cold, at least 4 hours after it is switched off. Once the boiler is cleaned, always fill the reservoir with water before using the boiler in order to prevent it from overheating.
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE

TROUBLESHOOTING This chapter describes the most common problems that can arise using the appliance. If the problems cannot be solved with the information below, please contact the Authorised Assistance Centre. Problem Possible cause Solution The appliance does not go on. The household appliance is not on. Ensure that the appliance is properly connected to the socket, that the ON/ OFF button (2) is pressed and the light is on. The plate temperature LED (9) goesonando. Normal procedure. The switching ON and OFF of the LED (9) indicates the heating phase of the iron.TheLEDgoesooncetheset temperature is reached. Smoke comes out of the appliance when it is switched on forthersttime. This is absolutely normal and is due to the expansion of the plastic material. This no longer occurs after a while. Impurities come out of the plate of the new iron. This is perfectly normal in a new iron. These particles are completely harmless and will disappear after the iron is used a few times. Drops of water come out of the plate. The iron temperature adjustment knob (10) is set to a temperature that is too low for steam ironing. Adjust the temperature for steam ironing (see the ”IRONING” chapter). The appliance does not produce steam. The appliance is not on. Press the ON/OFF button (2). The steam button (11) is not being pressed. Keep the steam button (11) pressed as you iron. There is no more water in the reservoir and the no water LED (4) is on. Fill the water reservoir (see chapter
FILLING THE RESERVOIR WHILE
IRONING). The plate is dirty: there are impurities or limescale residues. The impurities or chemical substances found in the water have deposited on the plate. Wait for the plate to cool down and clean it with a damp cloth. You are ironing at a temperature that is too high. Wait for the plate to cool down and clean it with a damp cloth. An excessive amount of limescale and minerals has accumulated in the boiler. Clean the boiler (see the CLEANING THE BOILER chapter). The steam (ready) LED (6) does not light up or water leaks from the boiler cleaning cap (13). The cleaning cap (13) has not been tightened properly. Make sure the cleaning cap (13) is tightened well. Patches remain wet while ironing. Sometimes patches remain wet after being steam ironed as the steam condenses on the ironing board. Pass the iron a number of times on the wet patches without dispensing steam. If the lower part of the ironing board is wet, dry it with a dry cloth. Use a mesh ironing board to prevent the steam from condensing on the ironing board. The iron does not stay up in vertical position. The iron has been designed to be set horizontally. Place the iron on the heat resistant mat.EN
