USAGE
1 The appliance can be used on most tiled, carpeted, parquet, and laminate flooring.
2 The flooring must be correctly laid, without gaps or cuts that moisture could penetrate.
3 Don't use it on unsealed wooden flooring, glass, soft plastic, or leather.
4 Don't use it on waxed flooring - the wax may melt, damaging the appliance and the flooring.
5 Test it on an inconspicuous part of the flooring, and check for moisture penetration and/or damage before proceeding.
If in doubt, ask the supplier of the flooring for advice.
ASSEMBLY
6 Unplug the appliance before assembly, disassembly, or cleaning.
7 Push the bottom of the shaft into the top of the body.
8 Rotate the shaft till the pip engages with the hole in the body.
9 Wind the cable round the cable hooks.
THE CLOTH
10 Loosen the ties.
11 Fit the cloth over the base.
12 Bring the edges of the cloth up and over the flange running round the base.
13 Tighten the ties to secure the cloth to the base.

FILLING
14 Pull the cap out of the tube.
15 Use the jug and anti-scale cartridge supplied with the appliance.
16 With the cartridge in place, fill the jug with fresh cold water, up to the bottom of the cartridge.
17 Pour the water from the jug into the tube.
18 It is important that all the water going into the appliance has passed through the anti-scale cartridge.
19 Replace the cap in the tube.
Don't add anything to the water - you may damage the appliance, you will destroy the anti-scale cartridge.
TILT OR LOCK?
20 The joint where the body meets the base has two positions.
21 Hold the front of the base gently with a foot while changing positions.
22 Push the handle forward to lock the handle/body upright.
23 The appliance is stable in this position.
24 Pull the handle back to unlock the handle/body, so the base moves freely (like an upright vacuum cleaner).
USING THE CARPET GLIDER
25 If you're going to clean carpet, rest the base and cloth in the carpet glider.
26 This will reduce drag, and make moving the mop much easier.
SWITCHING ON
27 Rotate the top cable hook, and remove the cable from the hooks.
28 Put the plug into the power socket.
29 Move the switch to I.
30 The light glows green when the appliance has sufficient water.
31 It glows red when the water level gets too low - switch off, unplug, fill.
IN USE
32 Unlock the handle/body to allow the base to move freely.
33 Hold the appliance by the handle.
34 Move the appliance over the floor, cleaning a small area at a time.
35 When you change areas, overlap the previous area, to avoid missing anything.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE

37 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
38 Wipe outer surfaces with a damp cloth.
39 Untie the ties, and remove the cloth from the base.
40 You may wash the cloth by hand, or in a washing machine at the 40^ setting.
41 Use your normal detergent, but ...
Don't use bleach.
Don't use fabric softener.
Don't tumble dry it, it must be air-dried.
42 Store the appliance upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
THE ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE
43 The life of the anti-scale cartridge depends on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water in your area.
44 It should last for about 100 uses in a soft water area.
