HÅNDTERING OG VEDLIKEHOLD

Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass them on if you pass the appliance on. Remove all packaging before use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Follow basic safety precautions, including:

1 This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
2 Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children.
3 Don't leave the appliance unattended while plugged in.
4 Unplug after use and before carrying out user maintenance.

Danger of scalding – the appliance issues steam and hot water.

5 Don't use the appliance for cleaning electrical equipment, e.g. the inside of an oven.
6 Don't operate the appliance if it's dropped or damaged, or if it malfunctions or leaks.
7 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or someone similarly qualified, to avoid hazard.

Don't immerse the appliance in liquid.

8 Don't use the appliance outdoors.
9 Don't use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
10 Don't use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.

household use only

USAGE

1 The appliance can be used on most tiled, carpeted, parquet, and laminate flooring.
2 The flooring must be correctly laid, without gaps or cuts that moisture could penetrate.
3 Don't use it on unsealed wooden flooring, glass, soft plastic, or leather.
4 Don't use it on waxed flooring – the wax may melt, damaging the appliance and the flooring.
5 Test it on an inconspicuous part of the flooring, and check for moisture penetration and/or damage before proceeding.

If in doubt, ask the supplier of the flooring for advice.

ASSEMBLY

6 Remove the screw from the rear of the base.
7 Fit the body to the base.
8 Replace the screw through the hole at the bottom of the body.
9 Push the bottom of the shaft into the top of the body.
10 Rotate the shaft till the pip engages with the hole in the body.
11 Wind the cable round the cable hooks.

THE CLOTH

12 Loosen the ties.
13 Fit the cloth over the base.
14 Bring the edges of the cloth up and over the flange running round the base.
15 Tighten the ties to secure the cloth to the base.

FILLING

16 Pull the reservoir up and off the body.
17 Turn the reservoir upside down, and unscrew the cap.
18 Lift the cap and tube out of the reservoir.
19 Fill the reservoir with fresh cold water.

Don't add anything to the water – you may damage the appliance, you will destroy the anti-scale cartridge.

20 Slide the tube into the reservoir, and screw on the cap.
21 Turn the reservoir right way up, and replace it in the body.

TILT OR LOCK?

22 The joint where the body meets the base has two positions.
23 Hold the front of the base gently with a foot while changing positions.
24 Push the handle forward to lock the handle/body upright.
25 Pull the handle back to unlock the handle/body, so the base moves freely (like an upright vacuum cleaner).

USING THE CARPET GLIDER

26 If you're going to clean carpet, rest the base and cloth in the carpet glider.
27 This will reduce drag, and make moving the mop much easier.

SWITCHING ON

28 Rotate the top cable hook, and remove the cable from the hooks.
29 Push the body end of the cable into the pinch in the tip of the top cable hook, to help keep it out of your way.
30 Put the plug into the power socket.
31 The power light will glow as long as the appliance is connected to the electricity supply.
32 The thermostat light will glow when the appliance reaches working temperature.
33 It will then cycle on and off as the thermostat operates to maintain the temperature.

IN USE

34 Wait till the thermostat light glows.
35 Unlock the handle/body to allow the base to move freely.
36 Hold the appliance by the handle. Press the trigger to produce steam, release it to stop.
37 Move the appliance over the floor, cleaning a small area at a time.
38 When you change areas, overlap the previous area, to avoid missing anything.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

39 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
40 Remove and empty the reservoir.
41 Remove the anti-scale cartridge and tip any residual water out of it.
42 Replace the cartridge and the reservoir.
43 Wipe outer surfaces with a damp cloth.
44 Untie the ties, and remove the cloth from the base.
45 You may wash the cloth by hand, or in a washing machine at the 40° setting.

Don't use bleach.

Don't use fabric softener.

Don't tumble dry it, it must be air-dried.

46 Store the appliance upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

THE ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE

47 The life of the anti-scale cartridge depends on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water in your area.

48 It should last for about 100 uses in a soft water area.

BLOCKAGES

49 If you see steam coming from the steam valve, there is a blockage somewhere.

50 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.

51 Untie the ties, and remove the cloth from the base.

52 Check the holes in the underside of the base.

53 Use a needle or pin to remove any blockage.

54 Remove the base and check the tubes on top of the base, and on the bottom of the body.

55 If steam is still coming from the steam valve after you reassemble the appliance, try unblocking it again, then contact after sales service.

56 Contact after sales service.

To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with this symbol mustn't be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste, but recovered, reused, or recycled.
