How to use the Russell Hobbs 1945056 blender?

Place the bowl on the motor unit, aligning the handle with the arrow. Add ingredients without exceeding 1500 ml. Close the lid by turning it counterclockwise until the safety lock engages. Plug in and select the speed (1 or 2) or use the pulse function.

How to clean the blender?

Turn off and unplug. Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Remove the bowl, disassemble the blade assembly by turning counterclockwise. Wash the bowl, lid, cap, and blade assembly in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Do not put in the dishwasher.

What are the important safety precautions?

Do not immerse the motor unit. Use under supervision. Unplug before removing parts. Wait for the blades to stop completely before opening. Do not exceed 1500 ml. Do not blend hot food (max 40°C).

Can I fill the bowl above 1500 ml?

No. Overfilling may cause the lid to pop off during startup and cause injury. Use the 1500 ml marking as the maximum limit.

How to add ingredients while operating?

Remove the cap from the lid, pour ingredients through the opening, then replace the cap. Make sure not to exceed the maximum capacity.

How to use the pulse function?

Turn the speed dial to the © position (pulse) counterclockwise. The motor runs in bursts and returns to 0 as soon as you release.

Can I run the blender continuously for a long time?

Do not exceed 1 minute of continuous operation. After one minute, let the appliance rest for at least 2 minutes to cool the motor.

How to remove the blade assembly for cleaning?

Place the bowl upside down. Hold the bowl handle with one hand and the base of the blade assembly with the other. Turn the blade assembly counterclockwise to unscrew it. Carefully take it out. Remove the sealing ring and wash everything.

Can I put parts in the dishwasher?

No, no parts are dishwasher safe. Wash all removable parts by hand in warm soapy water.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Follow basic safety precautions, including:

1 This appliance must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and store the appliance out of reach of children.
2 Don't put the appliance in liquid, don't use it in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3 Unplug before dismantling or cleaning.
4 Switch off (0) before fitting the jug to the motor unit.
5 Switch off (0), and wait till the blades come to a stop before removing the lid from the jug, or removing the jug from the motor unit.
6 Don't fill with anything hotter than you can comfortably handle (i.e. liquid temperature below 40^ ).
7 Don't put your hand into the jug, even after you've removed it from the motor unit – the blades are sharp.

PREPARATION

1 Sit the motor unit on a dry, firm, level surface, near a power socket.
2 Hold the jug above the motor unit, with the handle between the speed control and the arrow on the motor unit.
3 Lower the jug on to the motor unit, then turn the jug to align the handle with the arrow on the motor unit.
4 Turn the lid clockwise to unlock it () , then lift it off the jug.
5 Put the ingredients into the jug.
6 Don't fill past the 1500ml mark. If you do, the contents may force the lid off when you start the motor.

FIT THE LID

7 Fit the lid, with the tab in front of the handle.
8 Turn the lid anti-clockwise () till the latch clicks into the safety interlock.
9 Push the cap into the hole in the lid.
10 Don't run the appliance without fitting the cap.

SWITCH ON

11 Check that the speed control is set to 0.
12 Put the plug into the power socket.

SPEED CONTROL

13 Turn the speed control to the speed you want ( 1 = low, 2 = high).
14 Turn the speed control back to 0 to turn the motor off.

15 Generally, large quantities, thick mixes, and a high ratio of solids to liquids suggest longer timings and slower speeds.
16 Smaller quantities, thinner mixes, and more liquids than solids suggest shorter timings and higher speeds.
17 Don't run the motor for more than 1 minute, or it may overheat. After 1 minute, switch off for at least 2 minutes, to let the motor cool.

PULSE

18 Turning the speed control anti-clockwise to will give you a short burst at high speed. In this direction, the knob is spring-loaded. When you let go, it'll return to 0.

ADDING INGREDIENTS

19 To add ingredients while the blender is working, remove the cap, pour the new ingredients through the hole, then replace the cap.
20 Check that the added ingredients don't push the volume in the jug past the 1500ml mark.

FINISHED?

21 Switch off (0), and wait till the blades come to a stop before removing the lid from the jug, or removing the jug from the motor unit.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

22 Switch the appliance off (0) and unplug it.
23 Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean damp cloth.
24 Wash the removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse well, drain, and air dry.
25 Don't put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.

BLADE UNIT

26 You may remove the blade unit for cleaning.
27 This is best done with the jug turned upside down.
28 Grip the jug handle with one hand.
29 Grip the bottom of the blade unit with the other hand.
30 Turn the blade unit anti-clockwise till it comes loose from the jug base.
31 Carefully, pull it up and out of the bottom of the jug.
32 Lift the seal away from the blade unit.
33 Wash the seal and blade unit in warm soapy water, rinse, and air dry.
34 Take great care with the blades – don't handle them directly, use a nylon washing-up brush.
35 Replace the seal round the blade unit.
36 Replace the blade unit in the jug base.
37 Turn the blade unit clockwise to tighten it.
