Frequently Asked Questions - HS1100 XLR Omnitronic

How to correctly position the HS1100 XLR headset microphone?
Place the headset frame on your head so that the frame and the elastic headband are horizontal at the back of the head and go over and in front of the ears. Adjust the microphone boom to position the grille about 25 mm from the corner of the mouth, avoiding direct placement in front of the mouth to prevent plosives.
What type of connector does the headset use?
The headset is equipped with a 3-pin mini-XLR connector. It connects to a bodypack transmitter compatible with this connector type.
How to clean the headset?
Use a soft, damp (lint-free) cloth. Never use alcohol, harsh detergents, or abrasive products. The foam windscreen can be washed in warm, soapy water and air dried.
What is the required operating voltage?
The headset operates with a DC voltage of 1.5 to 10 V, typically supplied by the bodypack transmitter via the XLR cable. Current consumption is about 0.5 mA.
Can I use this headset outdoors?
It is designed for indoor use. Avoid exposure to rain, moisture, and extreme temperatures (below 5 °C or above 35 °C). Protect it from condensation during temperature changes.
What to do if the microphone produces feedback?
Check the microphone positioning: the grille should be 25 mm from the corner of the mouth, not directly in front. Move the microphone away from speakers or reduce gain. Using the windscreen can also reduce breath noises.
Is the headset repairable?
The interior contains no user-serviceable parts. Any repairs must be carried out by a qualified technician. Opening the housing is not permitted and voids the warranty.
How to install the foam windscreen?
The windscreen simply slides over the microphone grille. It helps reduce breath noises and plosives. Remove it for cleaning and replace it after drying.
What are the dimensions of the headset?
The dimensions are 250 x 120 x 150 mm (L x W x H) and the weight is only 10 g, making it very lightweight and comfortable for extended use.
Can I use a standard XLR cable with this microphone?
No, the microphone uses a specific 3-pin mini-XLR connector. You must use the supplied cable or a cable suitable for this format. Check compatibility with your transmitter.
