Read instruction manual.Do not use the machine in the rain or leave it outdoorswhen it is raining.Remove battery before adjusting or cleaning, and beforeleaving the machine unattended for any period.
General Safety Notes
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas inviteaccidents.
Do not operate machines in explosive atmospheres, such as in thepresence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Machines createsparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a machine.Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
Machine plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in anyway. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) ma-chines. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk ofelectric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such aspipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increasedrisk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose machines to rain or wet conditions. Water enteringa machine will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling orunplugging the machine. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharpedges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase therisk of electric shock.
When operating a machine outdoors, use an extension cord suit-able for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use re-duces the risk of electric shock.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sensewhen operating a machine. Do not use a machine while you aretired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A mo-ment of inattention while operating machines may result in seriouspersonal injury.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equip-ment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hear-ing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personalinjuries.
Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-positionbefore plugging in. Carrying machines with your finger on theswitch or plugging in machines that have the switch on invites ac-cidents.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the machineon. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the ma-chine may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Thisenables better control of the machine in unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep yourhair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction andcollection facilities, ensure these are connected and properlyused. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Machine use and care
Do not force the machine. Use the correct machine for your appli-cation. The correct machine will do the job better and safer at therate for which it was designed.
Do not use the machine if the switch does not turn it on and off.Any machine that cannot be controlled with the switch is danger-ous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the batterypack from the machine before making any adjustments, changingaccessories, or storing machines. Such preventive safety meas-ures reduce the risk of starting the machine accidentally.
Store idle machines out of the reach of children and do not allowpersons unfamiliar with the machine or these instructions to oper-ate the machine. Machines are dangerous in the hands of un-trained users.
Maintain machines. Check for misalignment or binding of movingparts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affectthe machines operation. If damaged, have the machine repairedbefore use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained ma-chines.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cuttingtools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easierto control.
Use the machine, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance withthese instructions , taking into account the working conditions andthe work to be performed. Use of the machine for operations dif-ferent from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Always ensure all handles and guards are fitted when using themachine. Never attempt to use an incomplete machine or one fit-ted with an unauthorized modification.
5) Battery tool use and care
Ensure the switch is in the off position before inserting batterypack. Inserting the battery pack into machines that have the switchon invites accidents.
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Acharger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create arisk of fire when used with another battery pack.
Use machines only with specifically designated battery packs. Useof any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal ob-jects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other smallmetal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to an-other. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns ora fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery;avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liq-uid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejectedfrom the battery may cause irritation or burns.
Have your machine serviced by a qualified repair person usingonly identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety ofthe machine is maintained.
Specific Safety Notes

This accessory cleverly gathers the clippings as you

ing the dead clippings from falling into the hedge.
Always take care to avoid cutting into objects such
as wire, which could cause damage to the cutting
blades and the drive.
