Cordless via Bluetooth

Bluetooth involves a technology for wireless radio connection of devices over a short distance. Devices with Bluetooth standard are transmitting between 2.402 and 2.480 GHz in the ISM band (Industrial, Scientific and Medical). Interference can be caused for example by WLAN-networks, DAB radios, cordless phones, or microwave ovens which work on the same frequency band.

This device offers you the possibility to use a Bluetooth-enabled device. The functional radius is limited to approx. 15 metres depending on the surroundings and the unit used.

If your playing device supports the A2DP profile (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and has a music-player function, then you can also wirelessly transfer music to the device. The A2DP profile involves a multi-vendor Bluetooth profile. By streaming, stereo-audio signals are wirelessly transferred between the playing device (source) and the receiving device. Due to the different device manufacturers, models, and software versions, a full functionality cannot be guaranteed.

NOTE:

Depending on the device manufacturer, you may need to perform the registration (pairing) again to connect the devices. Bluetooth compatibility cannot be ensured for devices (e.g., mobile phones) released in the future. To ensure an optimal connection, make sure that the battery of your player is completely charged. Some mobile phone brands have an energy-saving mode. Deactivate the energy-saving mode as it can otherwise result in problems during data transfer via Bluetooth. To be able to transfer audio data, Bluetooth must stay activated on your player. Observe the operation manual of your player. If a mobile phone on which you are playing music receives a call, the music will be interrupted. The sound, however, is not played back via the speaker. After you have ended the call, the devices are connected to each other again and playback continues. The volume increases slowly. The AVRCP profile (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) is not supported by this device! Your playback device cannot therefore be operated with the remote control or local controls.

Logging on devices (Pairing)

Before you listen to music via the unit, you must pair the devices.

  1. Ensure that the Bluetooth function is activated on your player (e.g., mobile phone). For this, refer to the operation manual of your player.
  2. Press the MODE button (2/1) repeatedly until "bLUE" is shown on the display. The symbol flashes to show that the unit is in pairing mode.
  3. Choose the Bluetooth menu on your player and register the device on your player. For this, refer to the operation manual of your player. The device "BSS 4803" will show on your player as a selection.

NOTE:

Only one playback unit can be connected to the speaker. If the speaker is already connected to another playback unit, the speaker will not appear in the BT selection menu.

  1. Now enter the password "0000" on your player, depending on the device manufacturer, model, and software version.

If pairing has been carried out successfully, a beep sounds and the symbol lights up.

For the further procedure, please refer to the user manual of the playback unit. If possible, adjust the volume of the external unit to a comfortable level.

USB port (5)

This device has been developed in line with the latest technical advances in the USB field. The wide range of different USB storage devices of all types currently on the market, unfortunately, does not allow us to guarantee full compatibility with all USB storage devices. For this reason, in rare cases there may be problems in playing back files from USB storage devices. This is not a malfunction of the device.

1. Press the MODE button (2/1) repeatedly until "USB" is visible on the display.

  1. Connect a USB storage device directly into the port. After a few seconds, the total number of titles appears briefly. Playback then begins. MP3, the current folder, and the elapsed playing time of the current title are shown on the display.

For operation, please refer to the section "Description of the USB controls".

NOTE:

Always directly connect a USB storage medium to the USB port to prevent any malfunctions. The USB port is not designed for charging external devices.

CAUTION:

Before removing the USB storage device, switch the device to another mode using the MODE button (2/1).

Reproduction of audio broadcasts

There are three ways to reproduce audio broadcasts on the device: via wired connection, via wireless Bluetooth connection, or via USB port.

Wired connection

1. Connect the cable with a 3.5 mm stereo plug to the external audio source. If necessary, use a suitable adapter (not included in the delivery). 2. Insert the other end of the cable into the AUX-IN jack (on the side of the unit). 3. Press the MODE button (2/1) repeatedly until "AUX" appears on the display. 4. Start playback of the audio source. Listen to the playback through the speaker. You can adjust the volume level with the VOL+/VOL- buttons (6/3). 5. For further instructions, please refer to the operating manual of the external audio source.

NOTE:

If possible, set the volume of the external device to a comfortable level.

Wireless Bluetooth connection

Wireless Bluetooth connection

Bluetooth operates on the basis of wireless radio communication between devices over a short distance. Devices supporting the Bluetooth standard transmit at frequencies from 2.402 to 2.480 GHz, in the ISM band (Industrial, Scientific and Medical). Interference may be caused, for example, by wireless local area networks (WLAN), radio stations DAB, wireless telephones, microwave ovens, operating in a similar frequency range.

This device allows you to connect with devices that support Bluetooth. The range of action is limited to approx. 15 meters, depending on external conditions and the unit used.

If the playback device supports the A2DP profile (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, an enhanced audio distribution profile) and has the functions of a music player, then you can transmit music to the speaker without wires. The A2DP profile ensures coordination of Bluetooth devices from different manufacturers. Thanks to streaming transmission, stereo audio signals are transmitted wirelessly between the playback device (source) and the receiving device.

However, due to the inconsistency of devices from different manufacturers, models and software versions, the operation of all functions is not guaranteed.

Entering the device system (pairing)

Before listening to music on the device, it is necessary to ensure the pairing mode between the devices.

  1. 1. Make sure that the Bluetooth function is activated on the player (for example, on a mobile phone). For this, refer to the operating manual of this player. 2. Press the MODE button (2/1) repeatedly until "bLUE" appears on the display. The symbol "" indicates that the unit is in pairing mode.
  2. Open the Bluetooth menu on the player and register it in the list. For this, see the operating instructions for the player. The device "BSS 4803" will be shown in the player as the selected device for pairing.

NOTE:

You can connect only one audio device to the playback unit. If the audio device is already connected to another playback unit, the audio device will not appear in the BT source selection menu.

54 Russian

  1. Then enter the PIN code "0000" on the player, depending on the manufacturer, model and software version.

If the connection is established successfully (connection between the pair of devices), a sound signal will sound and the indicator will light up.

For further instructions, please refer to the operating instructions of the playback device. If possible, set the volume of the external device to a comfortable level.

NOTE:

Depending on the manufacturer, repeated registration (pairing) of the device may be required. Bluetooth compatibility is not guaranteed for all devices (e.g., mobile phones) that may be released in the future. - To ensure optimal communication, make sure that the batteries in the player are fully charged. Some mobile phone models have an energy saving mode. This must be disabled, otherwise it may cause problems when sending data via the Bluetooth connection. For data transfer, the Bluetooth function must be activated on the player. See the operating instructions for this player. If a mobile phone from which music is being played receives a phone call, the music transfer will be interrupted. However, the call will not be transmitted to the audio device. After the call ends, the devices will connect again and playback will continue. The volume level is adjusted automatically. The AVRCP profile (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) is not supported by this device! Therefore, your playback device cannot be controlled with the remote control or local devices.

USB port (5)

This device has been developed with the latest technical achievements in the field of USB. On the current market there is a wide range of different devices

storage with USB interface, but unfortunately this does not allow us to guarantee full compatibility with all USB storage devices. For this reason, in some rare cases problems may occur with the playback of files on USB storage devices. This is not a sign of incorrect operation of the device.
