IV. GETTING STARTED

RIBIMEX PRPVC1201AUTO / 511726 - GETTING STARTED - 1

Before any intervention on product, ensure that product is disconnected from its power source.

4.1- Unpacking

  • Remove product from its packaging.
  • Check that product and accessories are not damage

WARNING!

  • The warranty does not cover accidents due to improper installation. This pump must be installed in accordance with local standards and by a qualified person (we recommend you to contact an electrician).
  • The fixed pipeline that will connect the pump must include a separation device having contacts with the opening distance of at least 3mm in all poles.
  • The total head must not exceed 40m

4.3- Electrical connection

IMPORTANT! If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after sales service or a person with similar qualification in order to avoid any danger.

a) Make sure that the power supply corresponds with the connection specifications of the device (see rating label).
b) Check that the power cable is not damaged. The cable must be at least one cable H07 RN8-F 3 × 1.0 ~mm^2 (or exceed 1 ~mm^2 ) (line, neutral and earth).
c) Connect plug to a wall socket 10/16A fitted with a ground connection.
d) Turn the pump for 2 to 3 seconds to perform a dry run of the pump.

Do not operate the pump without water for more than 2 to 3 seconds to avoid overheating. This will cause permanent damage.

e) Disconnect the pump from the power supply (remove the plug from the wall socket), and then proceed with delivery/discharge line connection, as described in the following paragraph.
f) Ensure that the electrical connection is protected against water splashing.
g) When operating outdoors, the electrical connections must be splash-proof; they must not lie in water.
h) Extension cords must have sufficient wire cross section; cable drums must be complete unwound.

4.3- Connecting the discharge line (not supplied)

a) Wedge the discharge hose (not supplied) on to the connector.
b) Add a fixing collar (hose clamp not supplied) to complete the seal.

Notes: - The discharge hose (not supplied) must have a minimum diameter of 25mm and must be rigid and kink resistant to prevent crushing.

  • To avoid leakages in the delivery line and get the best performance, ensure to seal the fittings with Teflon.

Remarks: - All components of the discharge line must be compression-proof.

  • All components of the discharge line must be professionally installed

  • If the components are not compression-proof or if they are improperly installed, the pressure line could burst during operation. Risk of injury from liquid spurting out!

4.4- Start-up

  1. The pump must be installed in a vertical position: ensure that it is stable during operation.
  2. The suction holes must never be obstructed. It is therefore preferable that the pump should never be placed directly on the ground or on the bottom of the well, pond or vessel.

For example, use a brick to support the pump.

V. OPERATION

5.1- Intended use

  1. This clear water pump is a submersible pump intended for domestic use.
The pump is not intended for artisanal, industrial and/or commercial uses (for ex. Public parks, sports grounds ...)
  2. The pump is designed for routine household uses such as gardening, irrigation systems, pumping water from tanks, well...
It can be used to suck up clear water from flooded premises with particles in suspension that are less than [see table II] in diameter. When used to dry out premises (for ex. cellar draining) it is recommended to place the pump below floor level.
  3. The pump is fully submersible: the immersion depth must not exceed [see table II].
  4. The pump should not be used for:
  5. for sucking up liquids or materials that are corrosive, flammable/combustible, explosive r any other dangerous liquid; fats, oils, sea water, dirty water and waste water (e.g. from toilet, industrial...)
  6. for swimming pool cleaning; in fountains or aquariums...
  7. for pumping or transferring water intended for human consumption or any other food liquids.
  8. The pump must not be used for operations not described in this manual.

Any other use, other than that described in the instructions, is likely to damage the pump and to put the user in serious danger.

  1. The temperature of clear water sucked up should not exceed 35^ .

5.2- Operation - automatic functioning mode

Connect pump to mains power.

As this pump is an automatic water pump, it starts operating as soon as it is connected to the electricity supply, even when there is no water.

5.2.1- Water parameters

Here are the operating settings for this pump:

After 10 seconds, in the condition of no water or when water level is below 40mm , the pump stops operating.

Then the pump will try to detect the presence of water and restart working, if it detects any water which level is higher than 40mm , the pump will re-start

The re-start up settings are as follow:

After 6 seconds (1 time),

After 30 seconds (1 time),

After 10 minutes (1 time),

After 1 hour (1 time),

After 5 hours (1 time),

After 24 hours (1 time),

If the pump does not detect water, the pump will stop automatically 10 seconds after the re-start up.

After 24 hours, the pump will repeat over the same re-start up and stop cycle.

5.2.2- Pressure parameters

The pump starts operating as soon as it is connected to the electricity supply, when water is still detected after 10 seconds, the pump will keep operating.

When the pump pressure reaches the Max pressure setting (the internal pump pressure is over 3.5-4.0bar), or when there is no water coming out from the outlet, the pump stops working automatically.

When the pump pressure is lower than the Min. pressure setting (the internal pump pressure is lower than 1.5 bar), the pump starts operating again.

Warning!

Never operate the pump without water (dry running).

The pump is not designed for continuous operation! (e.g. continuous water circulating operation).

The submersible pump must be immersed before switching on.

Place pump into water, then let it purge the air (air bubbles) then only you can connect it.

Important advice

Sand and other abrasive substances increase wear and tear and reduce the pump's performance.

Do not use the pump in such environment.
