How to charge the BY-S5 shaver?

Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the shaver and to a standard mains adapter (not included). Charging time is approximately 2 hours. The LED display shows the charge level as a percentage. Once fully charged (100%), the screen turns off after a few seconds. Then unplug the cable.

How long does the battery last after a full charge?

The 800 mAh Li-ion battery offers enough power for several shaves. The exact duration depends on usage, but it is designed for daily use.

What does the low battery icon mean?

When remaining power is below 15%, the low battery reminder icon flashes on the screen. It's time to recharge the shaver.

How to activate the travel lock?

Make sure the shaver is off. Press and hold the switch for 3 to 5 seconds. The lock symbol appears on the screen. To deactivate, repeat the same action.

How to clean the BY-S5 shaver?

Turn off the shaver and remove the USB cable. Rinse the blade chamber under running water. Open the shaving head housing by pulling it upwards and clean again. You can use the supplied brush. The entire shaver is washable under running water. Dry it completely before next use.

Can I use the shaver in the shower?

Yes, the shaver is water-resistant with an IPX5 rating, allowing use in the shower or cleaning under running water. However, do not plug it in when wet.

How to replace the foils and blades?

Follow the step-by-step disassembly instructions in the manual (diagrams 1 and 2). The foils and blades are wear parts and are not covered by the warranty. Replace them regularly to maintain performance.

What to do if the shaver does not turn on?

First check that the battery is charged. Plug it into the mains via the USB cable to make it work even without battery. If the problem persists, make sure the travel lock is not activated (the lock symbol appears on the screen). Otherwise, contact ELECTRO DEPOT after-sales service.

Does the warranty cover blades and foils?

No, the foils and blades are functional parts subject to wear and are not covered by the 2-year warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects.

How to use the appliance

The appliance can be used after charging the battery or by connecting to the mains
- The USB cable should be properly connected to the socket.
The shaver starts working after pressing the switch.
- In order to turn off the appliance, the switch should be pressed again.
The appliance is equipped with an internal battery. Charging time is about 2 hours.
- In order to increase the battery life-span charging should be done in one uninterrupted cycle after full discharging.
The low battery reminder icon in display will be flashing if the left power is less than 15% .
- Charging status is indicated by a LED display. The digital number will be grown up by each 1% . The LED display will show 100% first and turn off after several seconds when the battery is fully charged.
- After charging, the appliance should be disconnected from the mains and the USB cable should be unplugged from the socket.
- When the cleaning reminder is shown in display, please clean the blade chamber as soon as possible.
- Long press the switch button for 3-5 seconds when the appliance is off, so the travel lock will be activated. And then the travel lock symbol will be shown in the display.
- Long press the switch button for 3-5 seconds when the appliance is in travel lock status, so the travel lock function will be cancelled. And then the travel lock symbol will be disappeared in the display.

Cleaning and preservation

• Before cleaning, turn off the appliance and remove the USB cable from the socket
• After each shaving, the blades chamber should be empty. In order to clean it, please cleaning it in running water first, and then open the shaving head housing by pulling up, cleaning the products as below pictures again. Before cleaning by running water, the attached brush may be used.
• Chamber blades can be washed under running water.
• The whole appliance can be cleaned in running water.
• Do not use any cleansing agents which are strong and damage the surface.
• Wipe the housing with a moistened cloth.
• In case of cleaning under the water the appliance must be entirely dry before next use.

Replacement of strainers and knives

To replace the knives and strainers, follow the step-by-step disassembly instructions as fig. 1 and fig. 2.

The knives and strainers are working components and should be replaced systematically.

They are not covered by warranty.

CAUTION: This appliance is waterproof. So it can be cleaned in running water directly when appliance is in power off status.

Warning!

• Don't take the power supply out from the socket by wet hands to avoid the risk of electric shock.
• As soon as the charging is finished, take the power supply out from the power socket and take the plug out from the product.
• Please hold the plug and take it out. Don't pull the cord in order to avoid any damage for the adaptor.
• Don't charge the product more than 6 hours each time. Otherwise, the life time of battery will be reduced.

If there are no precautionary measures, the characteristics of the product may change.

To provide additional protection, the installation, in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom, of residual current device (RCD) of rated residual operating current, not exceeding 30mA , is recommended. Ask your installer for advice.

NOTE: A circuit breaker is not a residual current device (RCD).

Storage

• Always unplug the unit before storing it.
• Store the unit in a fresh, dry and dust-free place, out of the reach of children and pets.
• Please retain the packaging and use it to store your unit when it is not in use for an extended period of time.
