How to reset the CDA-9883R car stereo?

Turn off the unit, open the front panel, remove it, then press the RESET button with a ballpoint pen or a pointed object.

How to remove and attach the front panel?

To remove: turn off the unit, press OPEN, slide the panel to the left and pull. To attach: first insert the right side, align the grooves, then push the left side until it clicks.

What to do if the CD does not eject?

Press and hold the eject button for at least 2 seconds. If nothing happens, use the RESET button and try again. As a last resort, consult an Alpine dealer.

How to listen to the radio and store stations?

Press SOURCE/Ω to select TUNER, then BAND/TA to choose the band. Use TUNE/A.ME for search mode. To store a station, press and hold a preset button (1-6) for 2 seconds.

How to adjust bass and treble?

Press A.SEL to select BASS or TREBLE. Use BAND/TA for center frequency and the rotary knob for level. You can also adjust the bass bandwidth with SOURCE/Ω.

Can I play MP3 files on a CD-R?

Yes, the unit plays CD-R and CD-RW discs containing MP3, WMA or AAC files. Make sure the disc is finalized and the files comply with the supported formats (extension .mp3, .wma, .m4a).

How to connect an iPod?

Use the optional FULL SPEED™ connection cable (KCE-422i). Connect it to the direct iPod connector (blue) on the unit. Set AUX+ SETUP to OFF when the iPod is connected.

Why is the sound weak or absent?

Check that POWER IC is set to ON (to use the internal amplifier). Make sure the volume and subwoofer settings are not at zero. Also check the speaker connections and the fuse.

How to activate traffic information (TA)?

Press and hold BAND/TA for 2 seconds until the TA indicator lights up. The unit will then interrupt the current source to broadcast traffic messages. Briefly press BAND/TA to skip an announcement.

What to do if the display shows 'ERROR'?

Remove the disc and check that it is clean and inserted correctly. If the error persists, press the RESET button. If the problem continues, consult an Alpine dealer.
