Installation WARNING! Make sure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the mains socket before installing or changing any parts.
Selecting a suitable location for the unit • The unit must be installed in a room larger than 4 m². • Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. • Make sure to leave a gap of at least 60 cm around the entire unit to allow for good ventilation and prevent the air outlet/inlet from being blocked by household items, such as curtains, furniture and walls. • Place the unit near a window or door, plus close to a mains socket. Installing the drainage system Attach the drain connector to one end of the drain hose by pushing the latter into the drain connector, then twisting it clockwise until it clicks firmly into place. Similarly attach the other end of the drain hose to the window connector. Extend the adjustable frame to fit your window. Secure it with the bolt, washer and wing nut. Place the frame horizontally for sash windows and vertically for horizontal sliding windows. Attach the window connector to the adjustable frame and press firmly until it clicks into place. Use tape to secure the adjustable frame and cover all gaps around the frame or window connector, to ensure maximum efficiency. Secure the assembled drain hose to the back of the unit by aligning the grooves on the drain connector with the slots in the drain outlet. Then press firmly to secure in place. Extend the drain hose as far as needed for the unit to be positioned in the desired location. The drain hose measures 24 to 150 cm long. NOTE: Take care not to overstretch, crush or sharply bend the drain hose, as this may result in damage and/or a malfunction. Make sure there is a gap of at least 60 cm between the unit and any other objects. Insufficient ventilation can lead to overheating.
Installing the remote control battery Remove the plastic film from the battery compartment. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Push the release button inwards and pull the battery casing out. Remove the dead battery. Insert 1x 3 V CR2025 battery, whilst making sure to respect the polarities (+ and -) indicated on the casing. Slide the battery casing back into the remote control until you hear it click firmly into place. The remote control is now ready to use. WARNING! Remove the batteries whenever you do not plan on using the remote control for a long period of time.
Operation WARNING! Before switching on the unit, make sure that it has been kept in an upright position for at least 6 hours.

EN C Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance WARNING! • Before cleaning, always turn off and unplug the unit. • When cleaning the unit, never use flammable or abrasive products (such as benzene or white spirit), metal brushes, scouring pads, wire wool or sharp utensils. • Never immerse the unit, cable or power plug in water. • Regularly clean your unit and keep it dust free to optimise its performance, reduce the need for repairs and ensure product longevity. • Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure that no liquid enters the unit. Cleaning the air intake filter/cover • Clean the upper/lower air intake filter/cover every 2 weeks in dusty environments or after approximately 100 hours of use to prevent the airflow from becoming restricted and consequently damaging the unit. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Hold the upper air intake filter’s tab and remove it. Use the handle at the bottom of the lower air inlet cover to lift and remove it. Rinse the parts under running water on the opposite side to the air flow’s direction. Use a mild detergent to remove any stubborn dirt. Let them air dry completely. Reinstall the components.
Manually draining the unit • Condensation may collect in the unit, especially in humid environments or areas in which the day and night temperatures vary considerably. • Whenever the unit’s water tank becomes full, it will automatically switch off and the W.F indicator will light up. • Carefully position the unit over a pipe or place a container under the drain plug to collect the water. Remove the cap. Let the water run out and, if necessary, tilt the unit backwards to remove the last few drops of water. 28
EN C Cleaning and maintenance
• Once the unit has been emptied, reposition the drain plug. Make sure it has been firmly inserted. • Restart the unit. NOTE: • When the air inlet filter/cover is removed, be careful not to touch the components (evaporator) inside the unit, as you could damage them or injure yourself. • Never operate the unit without the air inlet filter/cover in place. This could damage the unit’s evaporator and other internal components. Safety measures to be taken in the event of a refrigerant leak WARNING! Refrigerant gas is extremely flammable. Please always bear in mind that refrigerant gas is odourless. Follow all the safety precautions to avoid the risk of fire, personal injury or death. If a leak is suspected because the unit’s housing is damaged, there is a weak airflow, hot air is escaping from the unit in air conditioning mode or you can hear a faint hissing sound, you must immediately: • Unplug the unit • Open the windows • Evacuate the area • Call the fire service.
EN C Cleaning and maintenance
The unit is not working properly.
• The power source has been incorrectly connected. • The fuse has blown. • There is too much water in the unit and it has switched off. • The ambient temperature is outside the operating range.
• Firmly insert the power cable plug into the mains socket. • Replace the 3.15 A/250 V AC fuse (qualified technician only). • Drain the unit by removing the drain plug. • The operating temperature should be between 5 and 35°C.
• The air inlet filter/cover is dirty. • The drain hose is clogged. • Doors and windows have been left open. • The incorrect mode is being used. • The drain hose has detached.
• Clean the air inlet filter/cover if necessary. • Remove any blockages. • Keep the doors and windows closed. • Set the mode and, if the air conditioning mode is being used, set the temperature below the current ambient temperature. • Make sure the drain hose has been securely attached.
There is a water leak.
• Water has spilled out of the unit.
• Drain the unit by removing the drain plug.
It is making too much noise.
• The unit has been placed on an uneven surface. • Some parts are loose and vibrating. • Gurgling noises can be heard.
• Place the unit on a horizontal, stable floor. • Secure and tighten the parts. • This is normal. The noise is coming from the refrigerant.
• Ambient temperature sensor fault.
• Check the connection or replace the sensor. Clean and reinsert the temperature sensor.
• The unit’s water tank is full.
The unit is operating at a reduced capacity.
EN C Cleaning and maintenance
Storage If you do not plan on using the unit for an extended period of time (more than a few weeks), we recommend thoroughly cleaning and drying it. Please store the unit as follows: 1. Unplug the unit and remove both the drain hose and window frame. 2. Drain all the water from the unit. 3. Remove and clean the air inlet filter/cover. Store the air inlet filter/cover in a dry, dust-free place for a few days before repositioning it, in order to allow the evaporator to dry out. When the water has been drained, the unit can also be used in fan mode for about half a day at low speed to thoroughly dry the inside of the unit. Then reposition the air inlet filter/cover, followed by the drain plug. 4. Always store the unit in an upright position. 5. Remove the battery from the remote control. 6. Store the unit and its accessories in a dry, dust-free and wellventilated environment. WARNING! The unit’s evaporator must be dried before putting the unit away, in order to prevent mould from forming or damaging the internal parts.
