Read through all the instructions before starting to use the air cleaner. Keep this user manual in a safe place for future reference.
-
Supervision is necessary when the air cleaner is used near children.
-
Do not use the air cleaner out of doors.
-
Do not use the air cleaner in the vicinity of a humidifier, in a bathroom, laundry or other damp zones, or near a swimming-pool or anywhere else where water could splash.
-
Stand the air cleaner in its vertical or horizontal position on a firm, even surface. Make sure the air cleaner is standing securely so that it cannot tip over or fall down. Only use the air cleaner in a vertical or horizontal position. For optimal cleaning performance, observe a distance of at least 100 cm from walls, furniture or other objects.
-
Unwind the power cord completely. An incompletely unwound power cord can lead to overheating and cause a fire. Make sure that the power cord is not positioned where persons could trip over it and do not rest anything on the power cord.
-
Do not use an extension cord or an infinitely variable speed controller. This could lead to overheating, fire or electric shock.
-
Connect the air cleaner only with a single phase power socket with the supply voltage as stated on the type plate of the appliance.
-
Switch the air cleaner off and always disconnect the power plug from the power supply when the air cleaner is not in use, or when it is moved, handled or cleaned. Do not tug at the power cord to disconnect the plug.
-
Keep the air cleaner clean. Do not allow any objects to get into the air intake or air outlet vents as this could cause an electric shock or a fire. Do not cover the air cleaner up. Do not put any objects on the air cleaner. Do not use the air cleaner anywhere near easily inflammable materials or gases.
-
Do not plunge the air cleaner into water or any other liquids and do not pour water or any other liquids over the appliance.
-
The air cleaner must only be taken into use after it has been installed completely and correctly, as described under “first time of use”.
-
Clean the air cleaner regularly, observing the instructions for cleaning.
-
The air cleaner must only be used according to the instructions in this user manual. Non-observance of these instructions could lead to injuries, fire or electric shock.
-
The air cleaner is intended only for domestic use indoors and not designed for commercial use.
-
If the power cord of the air cleaner is damaged, it must be replaced by a manufacturer-approved repair centre, as special tools are needed.
-
Do not use the air cleaner if it is damaged or could show signs of damaged.

FIRST TIME OF USE
- Unpack the air cleaner and remove all the packaging materials.
- Make sure that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position and that the power plug (1) is not connected to the power supply.
- Stand the air cleaner on the feet (2) corresponding to the horizontal or vertical position.
- Release the lock clips (8) and take the filter cover (9) off the air cleaner.
- Press the filter cassette (12) slightly downwards and take it out of its slot (15).
- Remove all the packaging material from the filter cassette (12).
- Replace the filter cassette (12) firmly in its slot (15) until you hear it click into place. Replace the filter cover (9) so that the lock clips (8) click into place. Make sure that the filter cover (9) is mounted securely.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
- Stand the air cleaner on its feet (2) in a horizontal or vertical position on a firm, even surface. For optimal clea-
ning performance a distance of at least 100 cm should be maintained from walls, furniture and other objects.
Please note: When the air cleaner is in use, large amounts of air are sucked in. The surfaces surrounding the appliance should be cleaned regularly and/or vacuumed, to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating. This can also help prolong the life of the filter. If the appliance is standing on a light-coloured carpet, you should place a mat or protective cover under the air cleaner, in order to avoid the carpet becoming permanently soiled. This is especially important if the air is contaminated by smoke, an open fireplace or stoves.
- Make sure that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position and insert the power plug (1) into the power socket.
- Turn the switch (3) to the desired position:
I = low air flow rate
II = medium air flow rate
III = high air flow rate
To achieve a continuous cleaning performance you are recommended to run the air cleaner 24 hours a day. Air cleaners are more effective in rooms in which all doors and windows are closed.
- Turn the ionizer switch (4) to Position I to switch the ionizer on. The ionizer power lamp (5) lights up. The ionizer supports the cleaning performance and air refreshing.
- To switch the air cleaner off, turn the switch (3) to the OFF (0) position and disconnect the power plug (1) from the power socket.
FILTER CHANGING AND CLEANING
Electronic filter change indicator and changing the filter cassette
The filter system, which consists of pre-filter, active carbon filter and HEPA filter, filters particles of dirt such as dust, smells and gases out of the air. The filter cassette (12) is effective for a period of 6 months. This is only a guideline. The actual duration of effectiveness depends on the amount of use and the concentration of dirt particles in the air. If the air cleaner is operated in surroundings with a high concentration of dirt particles (e.g. pollen, dust or smoke) or used constantly, the duration of effectiveness is curtailed. You should check the condition of the filters regularly.
This air cleaner has an electronic filter change indicator, which reminds you when it is time to change the filter cassette. This point in time is calculated on the basis of the running hours. The LED filter change indicator (6) is then continuously lit up red.
When you change the filter cassette (12), please follow the instructions described in the section on "first time of use". As soon as you have mounted a new filter cassette (12) you should reset the filter change indicator. Switch the air cleaner on, push the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip into the opening of the filter change indicator and press it for 5 seconds until the red control lamp goes off.
If you mount a new filter cassette before the control lamp lights up red, you should also reset the filter change indicator.
Please note: The filter cassette is not washable.
Cleaning the pre-filter
The pre-filter filters large dirt particles out of the air. For an optimal cleaning performance we recommend you to clean the pre-filter every two weeks.
- Release the lock clips (8) and take the filter cover (9) off the air cleaner.
- Take the pre-filter (10) carefully out of its slot (11).
- Tap the pre-filter (10) gently (into a trash bin) or clean it by hand in lukewarm water. Allow the pre-filter (10) to dry completely before you replace it in its slot.
- Replace the filter cover (9) so that the lock clips (8) click into place. Make sure that the lock clips (8) are secure.
CLEANING, STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
We recommend you to clean the air cleaner regularly. In order to avoid impairing the functioning of the air cleaner. Please observe the following instructions.
Cleaning
We recommend you to clean the air cleaner at least once a month.
- Check that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position and disconnect the power plug (1) from the power socket.
- Clean the outer surfaces of the air cleaner with a soft, dry cloth. Use your vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment to clean the air intake and air outlet vents. Do not use any abrasives or chemical cleaning agents.
- Do not allow water to get into the air cleaner. Do not clean the air cleaner under running water and do not immerse it in water.
Storage
If you do not plan to use the air cleaner for a longer period (about 3 – 4 weeks), we recommend you to store it as follows:
-
Make sure that the switch (3) is in the OFF (0) position and disconnect the power plug (1) from the power supply.
-
Take the filter cassette (12) out of the air cleaner as described under "first time of use" and replace the filter cover (9). Wrap the filter cassette (12) airtight in a plastic bag.
- Clean the air cleaner as described under “cleaning” and “cleaning the pre-filter”.
- Store the air cleaner in a cool, dry place.
- When you want to resume using the air cleaner, take the filter cassette (12) out of the plastic bag and proceed as described under "first time of use".
