Frequently Asked Questions - UF NF 274 E X742C VALBERG

How do I adjust the temperature on the Valberg UF NF 274 E X742C?
Press the FREEZER button repeatedly to cycle through temperatures between -14°C and -22°C. Stop pressing and after 5 seconds of flashing, the setting is saved. A temperature of -18°C is recommended for optimal storage.
What is the Super mode on the Valberg UF NF 274 E X742C for?
Super mode lowers the temperature to -25°C for rapid freezing, for example before adding a large quantity of fresh food. Press the SUPER button to activate it. It automatically switches off after 50 hours, or you can deactivate it manually by pressing SUPER again. The appliance may be slightly noisier than usual in Super mode.
How does ECO mode work on this freezer?
ECO mode automatically adjusts the target temperature to the ambient temperature to reduce energy consumption. Hold the ALARM/ECO button for 3 seconds to activate it. In ECO mode, the FREEZER button becomes inactive. Hold ALARM/ECO for 3 seconds again to deactivate it.
Does the Valberg UF NF 274 E X742C require manual defrosting?
No. This appliance features No Frost technology, which handles defrosting automatically. There is no frost build-up under normal operating conditions, so no manual defrosting is ever needed.
How do I reverse the door opening direction?
A reversibility kit is included in the packaging. You will need a flathead screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and a spanner. The process involves moving the hinges, door switch, and door closer from the right side to the left side in 13 steps as described in the instruction manual. Take care to align the top hinge carefully so the door seal sits correctly.
Why is my freezer sounding an alarm?
There are two built-in alarms: the open-door alarm activates if the door stays open for more than 90 seconds, and the high-temperature alarm triggers if the internal temperature is abnormally high (the display shows "ht" followed by the detected temperature). In both cases, a short press on the ALARM/ECO button silences the alert.
How do I clean the inside of the Valberg UF NF 274 E X742C?
Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wipe the interior with a cloth dampened with warm water and neutral soap, then rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive products, steam cleaners, and organic solvents such as lemon juice or acetic acid, as these can damage plastic parts. The interior LED bulb can only be replaced by a qualified professional.
What installation clearances does this freezer require?
Leave at least 10 mm of clearance on each side and at the back. If placing under a wall-mounted cabinet, maintain a minimum gap of 50 mm above the appliance. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use the adjustable front feet to level the unit and prevent vibrations. The appliance is not designed for built-in installation and must be used indoors only.

How to reverse the door of the VALBERG UF NF 274 E X742C freezer?
Frequently Asked Questions - 01/16/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The VALBERG UF NF 274 E X742C freezer comes with a door reversal kit included. This operation is important to perform before the final installation of the appliance. Before starting, make sure to unplug the appliance and prepare the following tools: a flat screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and a wrench. The kit contains the easy-open handle, handle covers, the left door closer, screws, and the necessary hinge covers.

Here is the detailed procedure to follow:

  • Remove the top covers of the wire box on the top of the appliance
  • Unscrew the upper right hinge cover and disconnect the connectors of the door switch and the display screen
  • Unscrew and remove the upper hinge, then gently remove the door
  • Remove the right auxiliary closing device and take the left auxiliary closing device from the accessory bag to install it on the left side
  • Unscrew the lower hinge and remove the adjustable foot by moving it from the left side to the right side

Second phase: continue with the movement of the hinge axes:

  • Unscrew and move the lower hinge axis from the right side to the left side, then install the lower hinge on the left side of the appliance
  • Unscrew and move the upper hinge axis from the lower side to the upper side
  • Remove the door switch from the right hinge cover and install it in the left hinge cover provided in the accessory bag

Reassembling the door: to complete the installation:

  • Dismantle the seals of the freezer door and reinstall them correctly after the reversal
  • Install the door and move the connection wires from the right side to the left side
  • Install the upper hinge on the left side and slightly adjust it during installation to ensure a perfect seal of the gasket
  • Connect the connectors of the door switch and the display screen, then install the upper left hinge cover
  • Install the easy-open handle covers

Once the reversal is complete, ensure that the door opens and closes properly without friction. Also, check that the seal is tight to avoid cold loss.
