What is the minimum distance between the hood and the cooking surface?

The minimum safety distance is 650 mm. For gas cooktops, strictly follow the distance indicated in the cooktop manual if it is greater.

How to clean the grease filters?

The metal grease filters must be cleaned every 2 months (more often with heavy use). They are dishwasher safe or can be hand washed without bending. Dry them before reinstalling.

When should the charcoal filter be replaced and how?

The activated charcoal filter is not washable or regenerable. Replace it every 3 to 4 months (more often with heavy use). To change it, turn off the hood, wait for the lamps to cool, remove the drawer, disassemble the grease filters, then hook the new charcoal filter.

Can I install the hood in recirculation mode?

Yes. Drill a 125 mm hole in the upper cabinet, connect the hood with a 120 mm duct, attach the supplied orientation grid to the recirculated air outlet, and ensure the charcoal filter is present.

How to electrically connect the hood?

The hood is Class I, it must be earthed. Use a bipolar switch with a contact opening of at least 3 mm. Check that the mains voltage matches the one indicated on the rating plate inside the hood.

What if the power cable is damaged?

Do not replace the cable yourself. Contact the manufacturer or an authorized service center to avoid any risk of accident.

What safety precautions should be taken during use?

Never leave an open flame under the hood, do not flambé food, monitor deep fryers (fire risk). Accessible parts may become hot. The appliance is not intended for children under 8 without supervision.

How to install the hood under a cabinet?

Use the provided drilling template. Drill a 4.5 mm hole for the fixing screws and a 125 mm hole for air passage. The distance between the support surface and the bottom of the cabinet must be 135 mm. Fix with the 4 supplied screws 12a.

How to use the suction speeds?

Press the M button to turn on the motor. Use the V button to select minimum speed (quiet, low steam), medium (normal use), or maximum (heavy emissions).

Why does the hood not turn on after installation?

Check that the power supply is connected and the bipolar switch is in the on position. After installation, firmly open the sliding drawer until the end-of-travel click. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.

The Instructions for Use apply to several versions of this appliance. Accordingly, you may find descriptions of individual features that do not apply to your specific appliance.

INSTALLATION

• The manufacturer will not be held liable for any damages resulting from incorrect or improper installation.
• The minimum safety distance between the cooker top and the extractor hood is 650 mm (some models can be installed at a lower height, please refer to the paragraphs on working dimensions and installation).
• Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate fixed to the inside of the hood.
• For Class I appliances, check that the domestic power supply guarantees adequate earthing.
  Connect the extractor to the exhaust flue through a pipe of minimum diameter 120 mm. The route of the flue must be as short as possible.

- Do not connect the extractor hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces, etc.).

- If the extractor is used in conjunction with non-electrical appliances (e.g. gas burning appliances), a sufficient degree of aeration must be guaranteed in the room in order to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas. The kitchen must have an opening communicating directly

with the open air in order to guarantee the entry of clean air. When the cooker hood is used in conjunction with appliances supplied with energy other than electric, the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 0,04 mbar to prevent fumes being drawn back into the room by the cooker hood.

- The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels (not applicable to appliances that only discharge the air back into the room).

- In the event of damage to the power cable, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by the technical service department, in order to prevent any risks.

• If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance specified above, this has to be taken into account. Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.
• Use only screws and small parts in support of the hood.

Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.

- Connect the hood to the mains through a two-pole switch having a contact gap of at least 3 mm.

USE

• The extractor hood has been designed exclusively for domestic use to eliminate kitchen smells.
• Never use the hood for purposes other than for which it has been designed.
• Never leave high naked flames under the hood when it is in operation.
• Adjust the flame intensity to direct it onto the bottom of the pan only, making sure that it does not engulf the sides.
• Deep fat fryers must be continuously monitored during use: overheated oil can burst into flames.
• Do not flambè under the range hood; risk of fire.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of

experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

MAINTENANCE

• Switch off or unplug the appliance from the mains supply before carrying out any maintenance work.
• Clean and/or replace the Filters after the specified time period (Fire hazard).
• The Grease filters must be cleaned every 2 months of operation, or more frequently for particularly heavy usage, and can be washed in a dishwasher.
• The Activated charcoal filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated, and must be replaced approximately every 4 months of operation, or more frequently for particularly heavy usage.
• "Failure to carry out cleaning as indicated will result in a fire hazard".
• Clean the hood using a damp cloth and a neutral liquid detergent.

Drilling the Support surface and Fitting the Hood

SCREW FITTING

• The hood support surface must be 135 mm above the bottom surface of the wall units.
• Drill the support with a 4,5 mm drill bit, using the drilling template provided.
• Cut a hole 125 mm in size on the support surface, using the drilling template provided.
  • Fix using the 4 screws 12a (4,2 x 44,4) provided.

SNAP-ON FITTING

• The hood can be installed either directly on the bottom surface of the wall units using snap-on side supports.
• Cut a fitted opening in the bottom surface of the wall unit, as shown.
• Insert the hood until the side supports snap into place.
• Lock in position by tightening the screws Vf from underneath the hood.

CLOSING ELEMENT

- The space between the edge of the hood and the rear wall can be closed by applying the element 20 provided, using the screws 12b.

Connections

DUCTED VERSION AIR EXHAUST SYSTEM

When installing the ducted version, connect the hood to the chimney using either a flexible or rigid pipe 120 mm, the choice of which is left to the installer.

• Fix the pipe in position using sufficient pipe clamps (not supplied).
• Remove any activated charcoal filters.

RECIRCULATION VERSION AIR OUTLET

• Cut a hole 125 mm in any shelf that may be positioned over the hood.
• Connect the flange to the outlet on the shelf over the hood using a flexible or rigid pipe 120mm .
• Fix the pipe in position using sufficient pipe clamps (not supplied).
• Fix the directional grille 8 on the recirculation air outlet using the 2 screws 12e (2,9 x 9,5) provided.
• Ensure that the activated charcoal filters have been inserted.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

• Connect the hood to the mains through a two-pole switch having a contact gap of at least 3 mm.
• When opening the sliding carriage for the first time after installing the hood, pull it out briskly until it clicks.

Control panel

L Light Switches the lighting system on and off.

M Motor Switches the extractor motor on and off.

V Speed Sets the operating speed of the extractor:

1. Low speed, used for a continuous and silent air change in the presence of light cooking vapour.
2. Medium speed, suitable for most operating conditions given the optimum treated air flow/noise level ratio.
3. Maximum speed, used for eliminating the highest cooking vapour emission, including long periods.

L Light Switches the lighting system on and off.

M Motor Switches the extractor motor on and off.

V Speed Sets the operating speed of the extractor:

1. Low speed, used for a continuous and silent air change in the presence of light cooking vapour.
2. Medium speed, suitable for most operating conditions given the optimum treated air flow/noise level ratio.

Grease filters

CLEANING METAL CASSETTE GREASE FILTERS

• The filters must be cleaned every 2 months, or more frequently in case of particularly heavy use of the hood. Filters can be washed in a dishwasher.
• Pull out the sliding suction panel.
• Remove the filters one by one, after having disconnected the relative fastening elements.
• Wash the filters, taking care not to bend them. Let them get dry before refitting them. (The colour of the filter surface may change throughout the time but this has no influence to the filter efficiency).
• When refitting the filters, make sure that the handle is visible on the outside.
• Close the sliding suction panel.

Charcoal filter (Recycling version)

REPLACING CHARCOAL FILTERS

Warning: Turn the lights off and wait until the lamps cool down before you change the odour filter.

• These filters are not washable and cannot be regenerated, and must be replaced approximately every four months or more frequently by particularly heavy use.
• Pull out the sliding suction panel.
• Remove the grease filters.
• Remove the saturated carbon filter by releasing the fixing hooks
• Fit the new filter by hooking it into its seating.
• Replace the grease filters.
• Close the sliding suction panel.
