TO PREVENT ANY SMOKE AND SMELTS
To reduce any inconvenient smoke during cooking, pour one or two centimetres of fresh water into the tank of the base. During cooking, juice and fat drip from the heating plate to the water. This allows smoke reduction and helps for an easy cleaning.
USE OF THE LID
Any preparation can be cooked with or without lid. Food will cook faster with the lid, so that it needs a close supervision. Using the lid is recommended for :
- cooking any splashing food (meat, fish, sausage...)
- cooking cubes of vegetables or fruits : slow cooking with thermostat on the lowest position
- cooking faster until centre of food : thermostat on mid position, food will cook faster and result will be less crunchy.
Be careful not to touch the prongs in the cord receptacle when removing the plate from the base.
If the appliance seems not to heat enough during cooking, check the connection between power cord and cord receptacle, pushing the cord into the slot.
CLEANING
- Unplug and let the appliance cool completely before cleaning.
- Carefully remove any grease using a smooth absorbent cloth.
- Do not clean any part of the unit with abrasive cleaners e.g. souring powders, scouring pads, wire wool, washing soda or bleach.
- We recommend washing the base the lid and plate in hot water and washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry thoroughly. They also are safe for the dishwasher.
- Do not immerse power cord.
Note : Do not let the grill on to "burn off" any food or dripping remaining on the plate after cooking. It may cause unnecessary smoke, reduce the life of the non-stick coating and may present a fire hazard.
