Frequently Asked Questions - HTC2200 WEED EATER

What type of fuel should I use for the HTC2200 brush cutter?
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 40:1 (i.e., 25 ml of oil per 1 liter of gasoline). Do not use E85 gasoline or 4-stroke engine oil.
How to start the engine cold?
1. Set the switch to the 'Run' position. 2. Press the primer bulb 5 to 7 times. 3. Set the choke to the 'Closed' position. 4. Pull the starter cord gently until you feel compression, then pull firmly. 5. Once the engine is warm, open the choke.
What to do if the engine does not start?
Check: 1. The presence of fuel in the tank. 2. The condition of the spark plug (cleaned with a gap of 0.635 mm). 3. The air filter (cleaned or replaced). 4. The primer bulb (must be full). 5. Whether the choke is in the correct position.
How to replace the cutting line?
Disconnect the spark plug. Press the side tabs of the cutting head and remove the cover. Remove the empty spool, insert the new line (2 mm diameter, 3 m length) following the indicated winding direction. Reinstall the cover by snapping the tabs.
Can I use a blade instead of line?
Yes, the HTC2200 accepts a brush cutter blade (255 mm diameter, 25.4 mm bore). Replace the head with the blade using the supplied flange and nut. Tighten to a torque of 15 Nm. Always wear gloves and protective gear.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the foam air filter after every 8 hours of use or more frequently in dusty environments. Wash with soapy water, dry, and soak in air filter oil before reinstalling.
What to do if the blade jams during cutting?
Immediately release the trigger. Once the engine is stopped, clear the blade of obstacles. Never force it. If the blockage persists, check the condition of the blade and for foreign objects in the protective guard.
How to store the unit for winter?
Drain the tank and run the engine until it runs out of fuel. Clean the exterior and the blade (if mounted). Remove the spark plug and pour a spoonful of oil into the cylinder, pull the cord to distribute, then reinstall the spark plug. Store in a dry place.
What are the required safety equipment?
Wear safety glasses, non-slip gloves, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and hearing protection if the noise level is high. Never use the unit in wet conditions or without the blade guard.
Where to find spare parts for the HTC2200?
Spare parts are available on the official website www.weedeater.com or from authorized dealers. You can also order by phone at 1-800-554-6723. Have the model and serial number ready.

DOUBLE INSULATION

CONSTRUCTION

The charger supplied with this unit is double insulated to help protect against electric shock. Double insulation construction consists of two separate "layers" of electrical insulation instead of grounding.

Tools built with this insulation system are not intended to be grounded. No grounding means is provided on this unit, nor should a means of grounding be added to this unit.

Safety precautions must be observed when operating any electrical tool. The double insulation system only provides added protection against injury resulting from an internal electrical insulation failure.

WARNING: All electrical repairs to this unit, including housing, switch, motor, wires, etc., must be diagnosed and repaired by qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for a double insulated appliance must be recommended by the manufacturer. A double insulated appliance is marked with the words "double insulation" or "double insulated". The symbol (square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance. Failure to have the unit repaired by qualified service personnel can cause the double insulation construction to become ineffective and result in serious injury.

BATTERY PACK

The battery pack for your hedge trimmer is equipped with nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries. Length of service from each charging will depend on the type of work you are doing.

The battery in this tool has been designed to provide maximum trouble-free life. However, like all batteries, it will eventually wear out. Do not disassemble battery pack and/or attempt to replace the batteries.

To obtain the longest possible battery life:

  • Do not store or charge the battery pack in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature.
  • Never store battery pack in a discharged condition. Recharge the battery pack immediately after use.
  • All batteries gradually lose their charge. The higher the temperature, the quicker they will lose their charge. If you store your hedge trimmer for long periods without using it, recharge the battery pack every month to help prolong battery life.
