Please read these instructions carefully before using this appliance.

To reduce the risk of accidents take the following precautions:

PRECAUTIONS:

1. Always unplug the appliance immediately after use.
2. Never use the device while in the bath.
3. Warning: Do not use this appliance near baths, showers, washbasins, or other containers of water or other liquids.
4. Do not place it in or let it fall into water or other liquids.
5. If the appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not put your hands in water.
6. Keep the appliance away from water.
7. The appliance must never be left unattended when it is plugged in.
8. Particular attention must be paid when the appliance is used by or near children or people with disabilities.
9. This appliance should only be used for the purpose for which it has been designed, as described in this leaflet. Do not use accessories that have not been recommended by the manufacturer.
10. Do not use this appliance if the cable or plug is damaged, if it is not working, if it has been dropped or damaged or if it has fallen into water or other liquids. Take the appliance to the nearest authorised service agent for inspection or repair.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE POWER CABLE

1. Never pull on the cable or appliance.
2. To plug in the appliance, hold the plug firmly and push it into the socket.
3. To unplug the appliance, hold the plug and pull it out of the socket.
4. Before each use, inspect the cable carefully for wear and / or cuts. If you find any damage, the appliance should be serviced and the cable replaced.
5. Never roll the cable tightly around the appliance, as this can result in excessive strain on the cable where it enters the appliance, causing abrasion and/or breakages.

Do not use the appliance if the cable is damaged at all, if the appliance malfunctions, functions intermittently or stops functioning.

SAFETY

Caution: for extra protection it is recommended that you install a residual current device (rcd) with a 30 mA current limiter. In case of doubt, consult an electrician.

Caution: this appliance should not be used near washbasins or other receptacles that contain water. Unplug the hair straightener when not in use.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Due to the risk of extreme heat a lot of care must be taken when using the appliance. Before using the hair straightener, dry your hair lightly with a towel and comb it through to remove any tangles. The appliance can also be used with dry hair.
• This hair straightener has a temperature control. Choose a low temperature for hair that is fragile, split, damp or damaged. Choose a high temperature for thick hair or hair that is difficult to straighten.
  The red indicator light is illuminated when the hair straightener is plugged in. When it is ready for use the red indicator light turns green.
  It is very important that the ventilation holes are directed away from the face or hair as water released from the hair can enter the holes and be converted into very hot steam. Always hang the hair straightener from its hanging loop. Avoid touching the ends of the appliance. Always hold the hair straightener by the heat protected area.
• For short hair, place a plastic comb between the scalp and straighten the hair, taking care not to touch the scalp. Do not use the hair straightener too near your scalp, face, eyes, neck or skin.
• To use the appliance, place the lock of hair selected between the plates and slide the hair straightener through the hair for a few seconds, maintaining slight tension as you do so. Do not repeat the process more than twice on the same lock of hair to avoid damaging your hair.
  Always move the hair straightener downwards through your hair.
• Do not keep the hair straightener switched on for more than 30 minutes.
• When you have finished using the appliance, switch it off, unplug it and let it cool down completely before putting it away. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the plates as these can damage them. Make sure that the hair straightener is switched off and unplugged. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the plates.

DOUBLE PROTECTION FOR YOUR HAIR

This hair straightener doubly protects your hair:

A. You do not have to dry your hair.
B. The cuticle that is smoothed when the hair is wet remains closed while it is being straightened and so the heat does not penetrate it.
C. A pleasant and smooth straightening of the hair is guaranteed.

PERFECT RESULTS

The results obtained with this TITANIUM-PRO hair straightener are better than those of a normal hair straightener because the cuticle does not break down. It gently smoothes as it dries, leaving the hair shiny, smooth and protected.

ADVICE

• Ensure that the ventilation holes do not come into direct contact with the face, head or hair.
  Dry your hands before using the hair straightener and do not put your hands over the ventilation holes.
  It is completely safe to use on dry hair.
• If using the hair straightener on damp hair, dry it with a towel first.
  If you wish, you may use a spray or oil to protect your hair against the heat.

The hair straightener is recommended for use on very curly hair. You will get better results than with a normal hair straightener.
- Do not use a normal hair straightener on wet hair.
- Do not be alarmed if you hear a slight noise (hissing) or see steam. This is due to excess water evaporating when the plates of the hair straightener come into contact with hair previously dried with a towel. It is completely normal. The hair straightener has been tested using modern technology and the results show that when it is used on damp hair the hair remains in good condition and is not damaged.

Step 1 - Preparing the hair

• Wash and condition your hair in the normal way.
• Dry your hair fairly well, making sure that it is not too damp.
  If you wish, use a spray or oil to protect your hair against the heat.

Step 2 - Getting ready to use the hair straightener

• Plug in the hair straightener. The red indicator light will be illuminated.
  After approximately 30 seconds, the red indicator light will change to green, indicating that the hair straightener has reached a suitable temperature and is ready for use.
• Adjust the temperature as preferred. 140^ is recommended for fine, broken or fragile hair and 220^ is recommended for thick or difficult to straighten hair. For normal hair an intermediate temperature can be used.

Step 3 - Using the hair straightener

• Divide the hair into equal sections using hair clips/ hair grips (not included) and get ready to straighten the lower parts of the hair first.
• Starting at the base of the neck, put a section of hair between the plates, making sure that the ventilation holes in the upper part of the hair straightener are not directed towards the face or the scalp. Remember: the smaller the sections of hair that are in the hair straightener the better the results will be.
• Close the plates and immediately slide them downwards (in a smooth movement from the root to the ends).
• When the water from hair that was previously towel dried comes into contact with the hot plates, you will hear a loud hissing and perhaps see a little steam. This is normal. It is the sound of the excess water in your hair evaporating and it will not harm your hair.
  The water acts as a barrier between your hair and the heat and ensures that the cuticle is closed before being straightened.
• Continue sliding the plates over the sections of hair until the desired level of straightening and drying is achieved. When the hair is very thick, it is worthwhile repeating the process.

Step 4 - Finishing touches

• Repeat the straightening process, starting from the area at the base of the neck and then continuing upwards to other layers until all of your hair has been straightened.
  If you wish, turn the hair straightener at the ends of long hair so as to turn the ends either under or out.
• When you have finished straightening your hair, comb it in the usual way using your normal hair products.
  If the roots are slightly damp, or to give more volume to the roots, lean your head forward and dry it carefully with a hair dryer. Put your head up again and smooth your hair well with a hair brush with natural bristles.

CLEANING

1. Unplug the hair straightener and let it cool down. The plates must only be cleaned when they are cold.
2. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth, to clean the surface of the hair straightener. Do not let water or any other liquid enter through any opening in the hair straightener.
3. If there is an accumulation of material on the plates, clean them with a mild, non-abrasive soap or use a liquid cleaner specifically designed for the purpose with a soft cloth.

STORAGE

1. Unplug the appliance, let it cool down and store it in a cool, dry place.
2. Store the cable rolled up, without squashing it.
3. Never roll the cable around the appliance as this can cause premature wear and may break the cable.
4. Do not put any tension on the cable where it enters the appliance as this can cause wear and possible breakage of the cable.
5. Never hang up the appliance by its power cable.
