How to install the SWEEX PP061 UPS?

Turn off the computer, connect the computer's power supply to the UPS output, plug the UPS into a mains socket, turn on the UPS using the On/Off button, then restart the computer. Connect the USB cable only after installing the software.

What do the UPS LED indicators mean?

The blue LED indicates that the mains voltage is normal. The orange LED means the UPS is charging. The red LED indicates a power failure: the UPS then powers the connected devices.

How to install the PowerManagerLite management software?

Insert the SWEEX CD-ROM into the drive, click on 'Drivers and Software', then 'Next'. Enter your name and a company name (required) and the serial number on the CD case. Follow the instructions. Once the software is installed, connect the USB cable between the computer and the UPS.

How long does it take to fully charge the UPS?

The first full charge takes 8 hours. The UPS recharges as soon as it is plugged into a mains socket, even when off, as long as the orange LED is on.

What is the UPS backup time in case of a power failure?

Backup time depends on the connected load. The higher the load, the shorter the backup time. The PowerManagerLite software allows you to configure alerts and automatic computer shutdown.

Can the UPS protect devices other than a computer?

The UPS is designed for computer systems. Connecting other electronic devices is not recommended and is done at the user's own risk.

What to do in case of a prolonged power failure?

The PowerManagerLite software can be configured to automatically shut down the computer after a certain time. Save your work regularly.

How to clean and maintain the UPS?

Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use liquid or abrasive products. Avoid exposure to dust, humidity, and extreme temperatures.

Can I replace the UPS battery?

Double-click the PowerManagerLite icon in the taskbar (bottom right). In the main window, click the configuration icon (gear). You can set a delay before shutdown. Refer to the English manual on the CD for more details.

PP061 Sweex Manageable UPS 600VA USB 2.0 with LED status

Introduction

• Do not expose the Sweex Manageable UPS to extreme temperatures. Do not place the device in direct sun light or close to heating elements.
• Do not use the Sweex Manageable UPS in extremely dusty or moist environments.
• Prevent hard shocks or impacts of the device, as this can cause damage to the internal electronics.
• Never try to open the device yourself, this voids the warranty.

Hardware Installation

1. Make sure that the computer you are going to connect to the UPS is turned off.
2. Connect the power supply of the computer with the power output of the Sweex Manageable UPS
3. Put the plug of the UPS in the plug socket
4. Turn on the UPS by pressing the On/Off button on the device.
5. Turn the PC back on.

Pay attention:

• Connect the USB cable after the software is installed.
• The Sweeex Manageable UPS is designed to secure computer systems. Connecting other electronic devices is not recommended and entirely at your own risk.
• The UPS has to be charged for eight hours to be able to supply the entire back-up capacity.
• The amount of time the Sweex Manageable UPS can supply power to the connected devices after a power failure is always dependant on the load connected to the UPS.

LED's and Buttons

There are 3 LED's on the front side of the Sweeex Manageable UPS and one button.

1. Blue LED indicates that the mains voltage is OK.
2. Orange LED indicates that the UPS is charging.
3. Red LED indicates that there is a power failure. The UPS will now supply power to all connected devices.
4. On/Off button.

Software installation

1. Place the Sweex CD-ROM in the CD-ROM tray. A menu will appear automatically. Click "Drivers and Software".

Drivers and Software

The installation procedure will be started.

1. In the first window click "Next".
2. Enter your details:

1. Enter your name or computer name. At "Company Name" enter any name. You must not leave this empty.
2. At "Serial Number" enter the code found on the case of the Sweex CD-ROM. Use capitals and stripes when needed as indicated.
3. Click "Next" and follow the steps to complete the installation.
4. After installing the software connect the USB cable from the computer to the Sweex Manageable UPS. Windows will automatically install the UPS.

Charging the Sweex Manageable UPS

The UPS is being charged from the moment it is plugged in the plug socket. The orange LED will light up. The UPS is also charging up when it is turned on with the button.

Configuring the Sweex Manageable UPS

By using the PowerManagerLite you can configure the UPS. At the bottom right of your screen you will find the PowerManagerLite icon, use this to start the manager..

Double click the icon with your left mouse button or right click it and choose "Start Monitor(W)...".

The main screen of the PowerManagerLite appears.

Click the icons to configure the UPS.
