USER MANUAL 3 WAY CARRIER HAUCK

CAUTION: KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!

CAUTION: Never leave your child unsupervised.

Be careful when attaching and removing the 3-Way Carrier.

CAUTION: Keep the plastic packing materials out of the reach of children to prevent the risk of suffocation.

CAUTION: Before using the carrier, make sure that all the belts are done up.

CAUTION: Bear in mind that the child in the carrier is more exposed to the weather conditions than the adult carrying the child.

CAUTION: A child sitting in the carrier may be higher up than the head of the adult. This may result in a hazard, e.g. a risk of knocking into a door-frame.

Make sure that your child has enough breathing space in front of its face to ensure a supply of air.

Always make sure that the adjustable belts are perfectly adjusted to your child's needs.

Bear in mind that the child's and the adult's movements may upset the balance of the adult carrying the child.

Make sure that the adult carrying the child is very careful when bending or leaning forwards. So always bend with your knees and never from the hip.

Remember that the carrier is designed for leisure activities but not for sporting activities.

Make sure that your child is always well strapped in and is sitting securely in the child carrier seat. The belts have to be done up properly.

Bear in mind that the child sitting in the carrier may become tired. Frequent, regular stops are recommended.

Never use a damaged baby carrier.

Use only original hauck accessories and original hauck spare parts.

Care instructions

In general

From time to time check that the stitching on the fabric is intact and that the plastic parts are in good condition. Defective or worn out parts subject to wear must be replaced straight away. Likewise replace components that are broken, torn, defective or worn thin. Use only original hauck spare parts.

Cleaning

To look after the fabric carefully, clean it by just wiping the baby carrier own evenly with a damp cloth. Let the fabric dry naturally.

The bib can be separated from the carrier and washed in a washing machine at 30^ (delicates).

Make sure you follow the care symbols sewn into the carrier, too!

With the '3way' baby carrier you can carry your child in a number of different ways. Once you have adapted the carrier to your personal requirements it takes just a few moments to put your child in the carrier and carry him/her securely.

You can use the carrier as early as in the first week (provided your baby is at least 53cm long and weighs 3.5kg ) and until your child weighs about 12kg (at the age of about 12 months).

The baby carrier has three basic functions:

1. As a front carrier - your child facing you (Fig. a)

In this mode the middle zip is open, the side zips are closed. The width of the seat crosspiece ensures that your child's squat position is anatomically correct.

The protective headgear is raised upwards.

2. As a front carrier - your child facing away from you (Fig. b)

In this mode the middle zip is closed, the two side zips are open. The protective headgear is raised forwards.

3. As a back carrier - your child facing the way you are going (Fig. c)

As with the first mode the middle zip is open, the side zips are closed.

The protective headgear is raised or lowered depending on the size of the baby.

Here too the width of the seat crosspiece ensures that the child's squat position is anatomically correct.

1. Adjusting the carrier seat to the child's size (Fig. 1)

Adjust the carrier seat to the size of your child by setting the right seat height on the adjustable loop between the carrier seat and the carrier unit (Fig. 1).

When doing so, make sure that the carrier seat loops are properly pulled through the adjustable loops and the Velcro strips are properly fastened.

There are 3 positions for the carrier seat height adjustment:

1 the highest one is for a body length of 53-66cm (21-26")
2 the middle one for a body length of 66-74cm (26-29")
3 the lowest one for a body length of 74-86cm (29-34")

2. Fitting the carrier as a front carrier (Fig. 2)

Open the belly and chest belt on the carrier unit. Now you can do the shoulder belt up. Then do the belly and chest belt up, adjusting the lengths of the strap for maximum carrying comfort (Fig. 2).

3. How to put your child into the carrier (Figs. 3/4/5/6)

Pull the lower belt strap of the carrier seat up on the right or the left, whichever you prefer, without undoing the buckle until the opening is large enough for your child to be seated comfortably, and undo the protective headgear belt buckle on the side on which you pulled up the lower belt strap (Fig. 3). Now put your child into the carrier, do up the protective head gear belt buckle above your child's shoulders and adjust the belt strap to your child's needs (Fig. 4).

Now you can be sure your child is being carried securely and comfortably.

Make sure that the seat crosspiece is closed (Fig. 5) when carrying the child facing forwards, and open (Fig. 6) when the child is facing you.

4. Opening the carrier seat without waking the child

If your child has fallen asleep in the carrier you can open the carrier seat fully to lay the sleeping baby down without waking it. Bend over a mattress and lay the baby on it. Now undo all the carrier seat buckles and you can straighten up and carry the baby lying in its cot.

5. Fitting the carrier as a back carrier

For the back carrier mode we recommend that you first seat the child in front of your belly (facing you) and make all the right adjustments (see 3 above).

When everything is properly adjusted you can put the carrier on your back by undoing the buckles on the belly belt and the chest belt, turning the carrier onto your back and wearing it like a rucksack. Now do the buckles up again.

That is the ergonomically ideal position for the carrier. In this way you feel the weight of your child least when carrying.
