Intended Use

The radio is intended for listening to radio transmissions. The radio is not intended for utilisation in commercial or industrial applications.

No warranty claims will be granted for damage resulting from improper use!

Safety Notices

  • This appliance is not suitable for children or for people whose physical, sensorial or intellectual faculties prevent the safe usage of the appliance without support or supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • To avoid potential risks, after use and before cleaning ALWAYS remove a connected power adapter from the wall power socket.
  • Check the appliance and all parts for visible damage. The safety concept can work only if the appliance is in a faultless condition.
  • The power plug must always be easily accessible, so that the appliance can be quickly separated from the mains in the event of an emergency.

  • The volume controller on this appliance does not completely disconnect it from the power network. Additionally, it consumes power for as long as the power adapter is connected to the mains supply. To completely separate the appliance from mains-power, the power adapter MUST be removed from the wall socket.

Unpacking

  1. Take the radio out of the packaging.
  2. Remove all adhesive tapes and foils.

Important!

Do not permit small children to play with plastic packaging. There is a risk of suffocation!

Providing mains power

You can provide the radio with power either via batteries or from a power adapter. Should a power adapter be connected, power provision from the batteries is switched off.

Operation with batteries

For battery operation, you must first insert four 1.5 V, Type AA/LR6/Mignon batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment 9.

  1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the radio in that you remove the cover in the direction of the arrow.
  2. Insert the four batteries into the battery compartment ⑨, ensuring their positionings comply with the polarity markings given in the battery compartment ⑨.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Interaction with batteries

Leaking batteries can cause damage to the appliance.

  • If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.

  • Always change all batteries at the same time and always use batteries of the same type.

  • Should the batteries leak, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.

Operation over a power adapter

You can connect a power adapter to the radio via a 5mm barrel connector. The secondary voltage must be 6V and the barrel connector must be poled positive on the inside.

  • Connect the barrel connector of the power adapter to the jack socket DC 6 V ⑦ on the radio.
  • Then insert the power adapter into a mains power socket whose voltage matches the information given on the power adapter type plate.

The radio now operates with electricity from the power adapter and the supply from the batteries is switched off.

Operation

Switching On and Off

To switch the radio on, turn the On/Off switch with volume controller 1 to the right, until you feel that a slight resistance has been overcome.
- To switch the radio off, turn the On/Off switch with volume controller 1 to the left, until you feel that a slight resistance has been overcome.

To control the Volume

  • Turn the On/Off switch with volume controller ① to the right to increase the sound volume.
  • Turn the On/Off switch with volume controller 1 to the left to reduce the sound volume.

Switch the radio on.

Selecting a waveband

  • Slide the switch AM/FM 4 to the left for medium wave reception (MW) resp. to the right for short wave reception (VHF).
    Pull out the telescopic antenna 5.

Adjusting the frequency

Using the frequency regulator 6 you can adjust the radio to receive your desired radio station 2.
- Adjust the antenna 5 positioning so that radio reception is optimal.

Using headphones

You can connect headphones to the radio with a 3.5mm jack plug. The headphone socket 10 is located on the left side of the radio. When you have connected headphones, the loudspeakers are disconnected and you will only hear sound via the headphones.
- Insert the headphone jackplug into the headphones connection 10.

Important!

Listening to music with headphones for long periods and at high volume levels can lead to hearing damage!

Cleaning

Risk of potentially fatal electrical shock:

  • Never submerge the appliance into water or other liquids!
  • Do not allow any liquids to penetrate the housing.

This obligation is intended to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally safe fashion. Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
