Frequently Asked Questions - JP5921 SOLAC

How to prepare the filter for first use?
Remove the filter packaging and immerse it in cold water for 15 minutes, gently stirring to remove air bubbles. Then place the filter in the funnel, pushing it down to the bottom. Before first use, rinse the pitcher, funnel, and lid with hot water and mild detergent (these parts are dishwasher safe except for the lid). Reset the indicator by removing and inserting the chip 5 times in a row.
How to refill the Solac purifying filter?
Turn the filter lid to open it, empty the used granules (they can be disposed of with household waste or used as fertilizer). Fill the filter with new Solac purifying granules, close it, then follow the first-use instructions (soak for 15 minutes in cold water).
How does the smart electronic indicator work?
The electronic indicator built into the lid monitors time and number of refills to remind you to refill or change the filter. It can be paused: if you don't use the pitcher for a while, leave the chip outside for 5 minutes to stop the counter. To resume, reset by removing and inserting the chip 5 times in a row.
How to reset the filter change indicator?
To reset the indicator, remove the electronic chip and reinsert it 5 times in a row. This action resets the counter to zero.
What is the lifespan of a rechargeable filter?
The filter must be refilled or changed after 6 weeks of use, or after 100 refills for the 3.3 L pitcher and 150 refills for the 2.4 L one (depending on your pitcher's capacity). The indicator signals when it's necessary.
What is the capacity of the Solac JP5921 pitcher?
The JP5921 model is available in two capacities: 2.4 liters and 3.3 liters. Check your product label or box for the exact capacity. The pitcher fits in a standard refrigerator door.
Can I put the pitcher and its parts in the dishwasher?
Yes, the pitcher, funnel, and other parts (except the lid) are dishwasher safe. The lid, which contains the electronic indicator, should be hand washed with hot water and mild detergent.
What to do if water doesn't flow through the filter?
If water flows irregularly or not at all, it means there are still air bubbles in the filter. Remove the filter, immerse it again in cold water, and gently stir to release the bubbles. Repeat until flow is normal.
Can I use the filtered water immediately after first setup?
No, on first use or after a filter change, the first two refills serve to clean and activate the granules. The water may be slightly dark; use it to water plants or discard. From the third refill, the water is ready to drink.
How to stop the electronic indicator counter if I don't use the pitcher?
If you don't use the pitcher for an extended period, you can pause the counter. Simply leave the chip outside for 5 minutes. To resume counting, reset the indicator by removing and inserting the chip 5 times in a row.

Thank you for purchasing the Solac ecological jug, and contributing to conserving the environment. You will soon see the advantages of filtered water. To ensure optimum operation, please follow these instructions. We are available to enlarge on any information you may need at info@solac.com.

1 MAIN COMPONENTS

1 Lid
2 Opening for pouring in the water
3 Intelligent reading device
4 Funnel
5 Rechargeable purifying filter
6 Jug

2 HOW THE RECHARGEABLE SOLAC FILTER WORKS

  • The filter granulate is comprised of a mixture of activated carbon and ion exchangers. These materials do not harm foods. They reduce lime scale and substances found in tap water, such as chlorine, lead, copper, zinc, pesticides and organic contaminants, among others.
  • In addition, by using the Solac rechargeable jugs and filters, you are helping to reduce environmental pollution. 2.7 million tonnes of plastic are used every year in manufacturing containers for bottled water.

3 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FIRST USE

1 Before using it for the first time, wash the jug, funnel and lid in hot water and a mild detergent. All the parts can be put in the dishwasher except the lid. (Fig. 1). Reset the indicator, remove and press the tab 5 times in a row.
2 To prepare the filter, remove the packaging, and immerse it in cold water for 15 minutes. Shake gently to eliminate any air bubbles. The filter is now ready to use. (Fig. 2).
3 Insert the filter by pressing down lightly on the mouth of the funnel. The purifying filter must be inserted as far as it will go. (Fig. 3).
4 Then place the funnel and filter in the jug. Put on the lid and pour cold water from the tap through the lid opening. The water will flow through the purifying filter to the bottom of the jug. If the water should flow

unevenly or stop flowing, this means that the filter still contains air bubbles. Repeat the steps given in paragraph 2. (Fig. 4).

5 After changing or replacing the filter, the first two filling operations are intended to clean and activate the granulate. For this reason, the water will come out slightly darker in colour. Use the first two filling operations to water your plants or just throw away the water. The jug of filtered water is now ready for use. (Fig. 5).

4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING THE SOLAC PURIFYING FILTER

The ecological system used to replace the filters enables you to use them several times and replace them with Solac purifying sachets. The rechargeable filter is also universal and compatible with other jugs.

1 Turn the lid to open the filter. (Fig. 7).
2 Empty out the contents. The granulate can be disposed of together with household waste or used as a fertiliser for plants.
3 Fill the filter with the new granulate. Close the filter again. Follow the instruction of paragraph 2 in the section entitled “Instructions for the first use”. (Fig. 8).

5 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SOLAC "INTELLIGENT" ELECTRONIC INDICATOR

The new SOLAC electronic indicator gives precise information to remind you when to refill the filter. It is so precise that it enables you to stop calculating the life of the filter during periods when the jug is not in use. This way, we can get maximum use from the refill.

1 If you are not going to use the jug for some time, stop the counter so as to avoid including this time in the life of the filter. To stop the counter just release the tab for 5 minutes.
2 To start the counter again, just reset it. To reset the indicator, remove and press the tab 5 times in a row.
3 Indicates the need to change the filter after 6 weeks or *100/150 fillings. *100 fillings for the pitcher of 3.3 L and 150 fillings for the pitcher of 2.4L.

6 TIPS

1 The jug can be stored in the refrigerator door. To keep your water fresh, pure and cold, always leave the jug in the refrigerator. The filter must remain in permanent contact with the water. (Fig. 9).
2 Never expose the jug to direct sunlight. (Fig. 10).
3 Use the filtered water within two days. (Fig. 11).

SOLAC JP5921 - TIPS - 1

CAUTION! When you want to dispose of the appliance, NEVER throw it in the rubbish bin. Take it to your nearest CLEAN POINT or the waste collection centre closest to your home for processing. You will thus be helping to take care of the environment.
