Make sure unit is "off" before plugging in, always attach plug to appliance first, then to outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to "off", then remove plug from outlet, then detach power cord from the appliance for storage.
Always store your appliance and cord in a moisture-free area. Make sure your cord is disconnected from the appliance.

The ease of use and the perfection of results, takes the removal of hair from the root to new heights of technological achievement. If you are new to epilation systems, you may experience some initial discomfort. This decreases with each use of the product. With cumulative use of the Smooth & Silky® epilation system, you may find a decrease in both the quantity and the density of hair growth.

Like waxing, Remington's Smooth & Silky is better than shaving because skin remains silky smooth for up to four to six weeks. But unlike waxing, the Smooth & Silky epilator is more efficient, cleaner and can be used in the comfort of your home eliminating the high cost and inconvenience of salon waxing.

The ergonomic design of Remington's Smooth & Silky EP-1000 consists of 6 rows of 3 pairs of discs each. Together they open and close 25,000 times per minute or 400 times per second. Each time each set of discs opens, it is for a mere 1/100 of a second. The EP-2000 consists of 6 rows of 3 sets of 3 discs. Together, they open and close 55,000 times per minute or more than

900 times per second. All discs are on curve which follows the natural contours of a women's face and body. The EP-2000 model has an additional fixed middle disc in each disc pair for more efficient depilation.

The Smooth & Silky epilator can be used effectively after approximately 48 hours after shaving. Hair as short as 0.02'' (0.5 mm) can be easily removed. Remington's Smooth & Silky epilator has a built-in safety feature that automatically slows down or stops the discs when they are pressed too hard against the skin's surface; thus eliminating skin irritation and preventing discomfort.

How To Use

To get the most out of your Smooth & Silky® epilator, please follow these simple instructions:

• Your skin should be clean and dry of cream or oil. Use after a shower or bath may increase effectiveness. Do not use in an environment where you may perspire.
  The discs are intended to remove hair as short as 0.02'' (0.5mm)
• When plugging your epilator in, always attach plug to the epilator first, then to outlet. This is a single voltage unit designed to work with 120 Volts A.C., 60Hz .
  Switch your Smooth & Silky epilator to the "ON" position. Hold it so that the hypo-allergenic discs are perpendicular to your skin. Best results are achieved by gliding the epilator lightly over the skin in a short, circular motion - sweeping the head up and and away at the end of each pass. The discs should gently glide over the skin, barely touching it. If you press too hard, a built-in safety measure slows or stops the discs altogether. This product has the potential to pull or catch the skin if you push too hard against the skin surface.
  Repeat the motion within the same area a few times until all hair is removed. The duration of use depends on the quantity and density of the hair. After several months of cumulative use, there will be less hair and those remaining will be thinner. There will also be a longer interval between re-growth of the hair.
  For best results, the unit should be cleaned after every use. NOTE: Always disconnect the epilator from the main electrical outlet prior to cleaning. Never dip the machine in water or use powders or other abrasive materials. Remove the disc cover by pressing the release button and pulling the cover up (see drawing). Then brush the discs from all sides with the provided brush and fit the cover back snugly.
  The Smooth & Silky epilator can be used safely on the bikini line. If the bikini line hair is too long, trim first with either scissors or a trimmer. Afterwards, you can use

the Smooth & Silky epilator to remove the hair from the root for weeks of a smooth and beautiful bikini line.

■ Your Smooth & Silky epilator can be used safely to remove a single hair from the face or body.
■ You should initially use your Remington® Smooth & Silky® epilator about once a week. Touch-ups will contribute to the weakening of your hair and will keep your legs constantly smooth. Removing hair once a week is recommended particularly for women with sensitive skin because the process is gentle and only takes a few minutes.
The unit has no user serviceable parts.

Instructions

A. Remove all components from package.
B. Insert plug into base of the unit.
C. Place the adapter into the wall socket.
D. Remove the plastic head guard.
E. Push the ON/OFF button up to start the unit.
F. If you're using the EP-2000 set the desired speed.
G. Hold the unit in your palm, position the epilator at a 90^ angle to your skin, just touching the surface. Do not apply any pressure to the skin.
H. Use a small, sweeping circular motion.
1. Make sure the skin is taut; taking special care to extend the leg before removing hair from behind the knee.
J. May be used for the bikini line (hold the skin taut with one hand).
K. May be used to remove individual hair from the face.
L. May be used to remove hair from the underarm (extending arm so that the skin is taut).
M. When completed, unplug the adapter from wall socket and the epilator.
N. Remove the cover of the unit by gently depressing the button on the side.
0. Gently brush the disc heads with the brush provided to remove any hair.
P. Replace cover. Note: This unit does not require any sanitizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does it hurt?
A. It may "smart" during the first couple of uses as you are pulling the hair out by the root. Over time, the hair removal becomes more comfortable, even for those with sensitive skin. As with any method of epilation, "bumps" may appear. They are temporarily swollen hair follicles and will disappear overnight.
Q. Will my hair grow back as fast as it does when I shave?
A. The hair will take approximately 4-6 weeks to grow back and you will find it grows back finer and sparser.
Q. What can I do if there are ingrown hairs?
A. You may use a loofa to soften the skin and any ingrown hairs should surface enabling the Smooth & Silky epilator to remove the hair from the root.
Q. Why are the discs curved and why are they gold?
A. The discs are curved to gently and safely glide along the contours of your body. The discs are 24 karat gold plated because gold is a soft, forgiving metal - it is durable, yet very gentle to your skin.
Q. Can I really use the Smooth & Silky epilator to remove facial hair?
A. Smooth & Silky® will quickly and neatly extract facial hair.
Q. Does the unit have to be (re)charged or is it battery operated?
A. This is an electrical unit and must be plugged into a wall outlet during use. Therefore, use in and around water should be avoided.

Q. Does the unit have to be sanitized after each use?
A. No. The units are personal and should be used by one person only. Should you wish to clean any residue, use a Q-Tip with alcohol (squeezed dry), just lightly wipe the disc head.
Q. Can it be used on the lip?
A. Yes, for individual hairs.
Q. Can I apply anything on the skin after using the product.
A. A cream or moisturizer may be used to keep the skin soft.
