Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

  • All safety instructions must be closely followed when using the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children unless they are over 8 years old and are under supervision. Keep this appliance and its power cable out of reach of children under the age of 8.

Note: this appliance has undergone a quality control previous to its commercialisation with the aim of ensuring its correct operation. After the quality control testing, the appliance is cleaned thoroughly, therefore, although it is unlikely to occur, there may still be some water inside.

2. BEFORE USE

  • This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the appliance when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
  • Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If any of them are missing or not in good condition, please contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

ENGLISH

First cleaning

Warning: clean the coffee machine before using it for the first time to remove all possible manufacturing residues.

  1. Pour water into the water tank, do not exceed the "MAX" mark, and place the water tank in its correct position.
  2. Insert the portafilter and filter (empty) in their position.
  3. Place a cup on the cup-warming tray. Make sure the steam knob is turned completely clockwise.
  4. Connect the machine to the mains and press the power button. The red indicator light will light up indicating the machine is preheating.
  5. Press the coffee button for the pump to start pumping water.
  6. To stop this process, press it again.
  7. The indicator light will light up when the preheating process is finished.
  8. Press the coffee button for the machine to dispense water.
  9. Once the machine has finished dispensing water, throw away the remaining water and clean all containers thoroughly.
  10. Now, the machine is ready to be used.

Warning: when activating the pump for the first time, the appliance may make some noises which will disappear after 20 seconds. This is because the machine is releasing air and is completely normal, it does not affect the operation.

3. OPERATION

  1. Fill the water tank with water, up to the MAX mark. Place the water tank upright so that the tabs are correctly aligned with the slots at the back of the appliance, then push it down until it clicks into place.
  2. Remove the portafilter from the packing box. Put one of the filters into the portafilter making sure that the slots on both accessories match. Fig. 2
  3. Next, insert the portafilter into the appliance head and turn it until it clicks into position. The portafilter arm must be aligned with the locking position «💡».
  4. Plug the machine into a mains socket and press the power button «!». Next, the corresponding indicator light will turn on and the appliance will start preheating automatically.
  5. During the preheating process, the coffee button indicator light « 📋 » will flash. Make sure the steam knob is in the OFF position. If it is not, all three indicator lights will start flashing at the same time and the appliance will not start.
  6. When the coffee indicator light « 🍼 » remains steady, turn the steam knob to the ON position to dispense hot water and clean the filter or cup.

Preparing espresso coffee

  1. While the appliance is preheating, fill the filter with ground coffee (neither too coarse nor too fine) using the measuring spoon, then compress it with the tamper part. Fig. 3
  2. Clean any coffee residue from the edge of the portafilter with a brush or by hand.
  3. Use one of the filters depending on the amount of coffee you want to prepare. For one coffee, use the single-cup filter, for two coffees, use the double-cup filter.
  4. Insert the portafilter into the appliance head and turn it to the locking position «☐».
  5. After that, place a cup under the coffee spout. Fig. 4
  6. When the coffee button indicator light « 🍼 » remains steady, press the corresponding button to brew coffee. Adjust the position of the cup under the portafilter to ensure that the coffee drips into the cup.
  7. If you need to brew more coffee, press the coffee button « 🚗 » again.
  8. The brewing process is finished when no more coffee comes out.

Milk frothing function

  1. To froth the milk, first press the power button «💡» to switch on the machine and then press the steam button«💡». The corresponding indicator light will start flashing and will not remain steady until the preheating process has been completed.
  2. Fill a jug or cup one-third full with cold milk.
  3. Then, place the steamer just below the surface of the milk and push it slightly into the milk until it is in contact with the milk (about 1 cm deep).
  4. Finally, turn the steam knob slowly until steam starts coming out of the steamer. Fig. 5
    Note: the steam flow can be adjusted according to your preferences. Allow the steamer to emit a little water or steam before frothing the milk.
  5. Once the milk has reached a temperature of about 75^ C and a layer of froth starts to form, slowly turn the steam knob to the OFF position and press the steam button « 🔊» to stop the steam output.

Hot water function

  1. When the power indicator light «💡» lights up, press the coffee button « 🍼 » and then turn the steam knob to the ON position ON so that hot water comes out of the steamer.
  2. Once the desired amount of hot water has been dispensed, turn the steam knob to the OFF position.

Note: if you are using the coffee machine for the first time or have not used it for a long time, it is recommended that you rinse the appliance and dispense hot water before using any other function. This is to ensure that the coffee does not lose its original aroma and flavour.

Cooling function

  1. If you wish to prepare coffee after steaming, you must first deactivate the function by pressing the steam button«».

  1. If the coffee button indicator light « 🎨 » flashes, then the appliance temperature is too high, and it needs to cool down.
  2. To do so, turn the steam knob to the ON position ON so that the machine starts pumping and dispenses water through the steamer to cool down the machine.
  3. When the corresponding indicator light starts flashing quickly, turn the steam knob to the OFF position to stop the cooling process.
  4. When the power button indicator light « 🍒 » lights up, you can start brewing coffee.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Switch off, unplug the appliance from the mains, and allow it to cool down before cleaning or repairing it.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the surface of the appliance.
  • Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or sponges when cleaning the machine as they may damage the surface.
  • Do not immerse the appliance or any of its non-removable parts in water.
  • Clean the water tank, drip tray, cup tray, and other removable parts periodically and dry them before re-installing them.

Cleaning mineral deposits

  1. Fill the water tank to the MAX mark and descaler according to the proportions indicated by the manufacturer.
  2. Place the portafilter without coffee in position.
  3. Press the power button and wait for the indicator light to light up indicating that the appliance is hot.
  4. Press the coffee button for the machine to dispense 2 cups of water.
  5. Then, press the coffee button again to close the pump and wait for 5 seconds.
  6. Fully turn the steam knob counterclockwise and place a jug under the steamer.
  7. Press the coffee button again for the machine to dispense 2 more cups of water.
  8. Then, press the coffee button again to close the pump and wait for 5 seconds.
  9. Restart the coffee machine and repeat these steps until there is no more water left in the tank.
  10. Once the water tank is empty, prepare a coffee by filling the water tank again with tap water up to the MAX mark, but without coffee. Repeat the previous steps until there is no water left in the tank.
  11. This will help to remove any residues that may have been left in the water tank.
