KARAOKE MICRO STAR Instruction Manual English Español Italiano Português Deutsch Finn Norwegian Swedish Danish ENGLISH BATTERIES The Karaoke Micro Star works with 4 AA type alkaline batteries. This toy must only be used with the specified batteries. BATTERY INSTALLATION

1. Open the battery compartment cover located at the back of the unit.

2. Install the 4 AA alkaline batteries and follow the polarity as shown inside the battery compartment.

3. Close the battery compartment.

4. Switch On the microphone.

Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. Do not mix different types of batteries, or new and old batteries in the unit. Do not charge alkaline or standard (carbon zinc) batteries. Charge rechargeable batteries only under adult supervision. Take rechargeable batteries out of the unit before charging them. Remove weak or dead batteries from the product. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals. Use only specified batteries. Do not throw batteries into fire. If the toy is not being used for a length of time, remove the batteries. When the sound is weak or when there is no image on your TV screen, it may be time to change the batteries. If your unit shows some malfunction, take the batteries out of the compartment and reinsert them again, this will RESET the operation of the product.

WARNING ABOUT EPILEPSY

Please read before using the karaoke player by yourself or by your child. Some people may suffer from epilepsy or lose consciousness when seeing blinking lights or when exposed to elements in our daily environment. Those people may be putting themselves at risk when they watch certain TV images or when they play with some video games. People who have had no previous history of epilepsy could also be at risk. If you or a member of your family have already had symptoms which could be linked to epilepsy (seizures or loss of consciousness), while playing with light stimulating games; please consult your doctor before use. We advise parents to be cautious when their children play with video games. If you or your children suffer from the following symptoms: vertigo, eye trouble, eye or muscles contractions, loss of consciousness, orientation trouble, involuntary movements or convulsions, please stop playing immediately, and consult a doctor. QUICK START Connection to your TV: Connect the Audio-Video cable plug (black) to the bottom of the Karaoke Player. Connect the 3 audio-video jacks (white, red and yellow) to the audio-video plugs or on the scart plug of your TV. On / Off: Press the POWER button located on the side of the microphone to switch it ON. Press the AV button of your TV to view the list of songs on the TV. To turn OFF the microphone, press the « POWER » button for 5 seconds. Your Karaoke Player will go into «Sleep Mode» after not being used for 2 minutes, and a display will be seen on your TV. After being in sleep mode for 10 minutes, the Karaoke Player will automatically turn off. To select songs: Your Karaoke Player comes with 50 different songs. Those songs are listed on your TV screen. Use the Up and Down arrows to select one of the 50 songs. Press « PLAY » to select the song. To sing!: After selecting your song, press the « Play » button and the song will begin to play. Lyrics are displayed on the TV and highlighted to indicate when they should be sung. Press « STOP » to stop the song and you will automatically return to the song list. To get the best from your microphone, it needs to hear your voice clearly. Do not hold the microphone too close to your mouth when singing. Use the volume control on the right side of your microphone to adjust the volume of your voice. Use the Up and Down keys during a song to adjust the volume of the background music. Change tempo: Use the Tempo +/- to speed up or slow down the currently playing song. Change Tone: Use the +/- keys to raise or lower the pitch of the song. Other Karaoke buttons:

: Press this button to select the « On-key » function. This function automatically corrects and transforms the singer’s voice to the correct key of the music playing. Press this button twice to activate the « scoring » mode. The better you sing, the higher your score will get.

: Press this button if you wish to change the sound of your voice to a man, a woman, an alien or a robot/techno sound. : Press this button to add a voice for two part harmony. The voice will start automatically as programmed in the song. This function is not available on all songs, look for the harmony icon next to the song title in the song list.

: Press this button to select one of three different duet partners. When you sing, you’ll hear your own voice transformed to sound like a duet.

: You can choose several Echo and reverb effects while you are singing. The Spatial effects : Spatial effects allow the singer to sound like they are in different locations. The different locations are represented by icons appearing on the upper left side of your TV.

: « Shower » Sound like you are singing in the shower without getting wet. The favourite spot for the future pop stars !

: « Home » Sound like you are singing in a big mansion. When the singer is more self assured and ready to sing in front of the family.

: Sound like you are performing in a grand theatre in front of a large audience. Feel like a true singing star!

: Be a true star in your own home by sounding like you are performing in a large stadium in front of thousands of your adoring fans.

: Sound as if you are performing on top of the Alps! The vocal effects : : Pressing this button gives you two options :

: On-Key Function (ON) - Your voice is automatically corrected and adjusted by the microphone while singing. : Scoring Function (ON) – A score is displayed with the thumb icon, while you are singing. The microphone judges your performance and your score goes up or down depending on how well you sing. Your singing is rated according to the accuracy of your pitch and timing. This will allow you to improve your singing on the selected melody and hold competitions with your family and friends. At the end of the song, the microphone will give you a score between 0 and 100. Robot : To add a second voice and sing in a duet, you can choose between :

An alien Press this button to sing with a choral effect. This voice will automatically be activated when this button is pressed. This function is not available on all songs. This toy is not suitable for children under 36 months because it contains detachable small parts that might be swallowed. It is recommended that all packaging be kept for future reference.
