How do I empty the dust container?

Press the release button on the dust container and pull it out. Open the lid over a trash bin and empty the contents. Close the lid and reattach the container.

How often should I clean or replace the HEPA filter?

The HEPA filter should be cleaned every 3 months with cold water and fully dried before reinserting. Replace it every 12 months or if damaged.

What does the variable power control do?

The variable power control lets you adjust suction power from low (for curtains) to high (for carpets). Use the slider on the handle.

Why is the vacuum cleaner overheating?

Overheating can occur if the dust container is full, the filter is clogged, or the hose is blocked. Empty the container, clean the filter, and check the hose for obstructions.

Can I use the vacuum without a bag?

Yes, the FREESTYLE II is bagless. The dust container collects dirt directly; no bags are needed.

How do I clean the crevice tool?

The crevice tool can be rinsed under running water. Make sure it is completely dry before using again.

What is the cord length and how do I rewind it?

The cord is 6 meters long. To rewind, press the cord rewind button with one hand while guiding the cord with the other.

Is the vacuum suitable for pet hair?

Yes, the strong suction and HEPA filter make it effective for pet hair on upholstery and carpets. Use the upholstery brush attachment.

How do I replace the motor?

Motor replacement should be done by a qualified technician. Contact Gorenje service or an authorized repair center.

General warnings

When using the vacuum cleaner always observe the following basic safety precautions: Carefully read this instruction manual and only use the appliance in accordance with the instructions herein. Before using the appliance for the first time, remove all protective film or plastics. Never leave the appliance unattended during use. Before using the appliance, carefully assemble all of its parts. Only use the appliance indoors and in dry areas. Only use the appliance with the parts recommended by the manufacturer. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped, if it is damaged, if it has been kept outdoors, or if it has been dropped or immersed in a liquid. Regular cleaning can extend the appliance's useful life. Make sure your hair, loose parts of your garments, fingers or other parts of the body do not come into contact with the vents or moving parts of the appliance. The appliance complies with all required standards regarding electricity, and radio interference regulations. The appliance is not intended to be used by children and persons with impaired physical or mental abilities. This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and more, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised during the use of the appliance or if they have been provided relevant instructions regarding the use of the appliance in a safe way, and they understand the hazards involved. Keep children under supervision while they are using the appliance and make sure they do not play with it. Special warnings

Before connecting the appliance or the charging base with the power cord to the power mains, make sure the indicated voltage matches the voltage of the power mains in your home. // Do not use a damaged vacuum cleaner or a damaged charging base (or adapter – depending on your vacuum cleaner model). // If the charging base (or adapter) is damaged, replace it only with an original spare part in order to avoid danger. // A transformer is integrated into the adapter. Removal and replacement of adapter with another one are not allowed as this may lead to a dangerous situation. // Only charge the vacuum cleaner with the supplied adapter and charging base. The adapter may heat up during charging. This is a normal occurrence. (Depending on your model, if it has an adapter.) // Switch off the appliance during charging. // Never use the vacuum cleaner without filters or filtering unit in place. // The exhaust vents may not be blocked during vacuum cleaning. // Only use the appliance for household purposes and indoors. // Keep the suction vents clean and free in order to ensure optimum and unimpeded suction power of the appliance. INSTALLATION

Lift the vacuum cleaner handle and place it on the floor brush. Insert the handheld vacuum cleaner first into the slot at the bottom and then press the handle into the vacuum cleaner housing. The vacuum cleaner is assembled properly when you hear a short click.

The vacuum cleaner stand is delivered in two parts. Attach the top part onto the bottom part. Before use, check that it is firmly fixed to avoid subsequent damage to the vacuum cleaner. Connect the adapter to the opening as shown in the figure. Charge the vacuum cleaner at least 1 m away from any heating surfaces.

USE

The vacuum cleaner can be used with or without nozzles. See instructions below.

1 Connect the floor brush to the vacuum cleaner handle. It can be used to vacuum all floor surfaces (dry floor surfaces). 2 Attach the narrow nozzle to the handheld vacuum cleaner. It is intended for vacuuming narrow and inaccessible areas (corners, sofas, cobwebs, behind radiators...). 3 Attach the soft bristle nozzle to the hand-held vacuum cleaner. It is suitable for vacuuming all sensitive surfaces. 4 Attach the bed nozzle to the handheld vacuum cleaner. It is suitable for vacuuming all textile surfaces with short fibres. 5 Pour tap water (it must not be hot) into the floor washing nozzle. At the same time, wet the wiping cloth, wring it out well and stick it to the bottom of the nozzle. Place the vacuum cleaner in the designated slots. The wiping cloth can be washed at a maximum of 40 °C and is not suitable for tumble drying. After washing, pour the water out of the container and dry the wiping cloth.

CHARGING

Place the vacuum cleaner correctly on the charging station. // For safety reasons, we recommend that the appliance is at least 1 m away from any heating bodies during charging. // During charging, the battery percentage will appear on the display unit. // The appliance cannot be switched on while charging.

DUST CONTAINER AND FILTERS

Dust container and filters

To clean the dust container, remove the handheld vacuum cleaner from the housing. On the handpiece, press both buttons on the bottom of the container at the same time. First, remove the bottom part and pull the containers from the hand vacuum cleaner at an angle. Pull the filter with the sleeve out of the dust container. Pull the filter out of the filter sleeve with a mesh. The container, sleeve, and filter can be wiped, shaken, or rinsed with lukewarm water, but be careful, as improper handling can damage parts of the vacuum cleaner. Ensure that all parts are completely dry before reinstalling the container back onto the appliance. Reinstall the container with the sleeve and filter by first pushing the container at an angle under the upper part of the handheld vacuum cleaner and then pressing the lower part into the lower part. Never vacuum without the dust filter inserted.

Replacing the filter

If you notice that the filter is damaged, replace it immediately. With regular use, we recommend replacing the filter every 6 months to ensure the longest life of the vacuum cleaner.

Motorised brush

Floor brush

There is a push button on the side of the brush that releases the pin on the roller. Simultaneously press the push button and lift the plastic pin of the roller with your finger. Carefully cut along the recess on the roller using scissors or another sharp object to remove the fabric or hair that is caught on the roller. Do not pull on the accumulated waste as it may damage the bristles on the roller. Replace the roller by fitting the side of the roller correctly back into the slot and fixing it back into the brush. The roller is correctly positioned when you hear it lock.

Cleaning brush for textile surfaces

There is a push button on the side of the brush that releases the pin on the roller. Carefully cut along the recess on the roller using scissors or another sharp object to remove the fabric or hair that is caught on the roller. Do not pull on the accumulated waste as it may damage the bristles on the roller. Replace the roller by fitting the side of the roller correctly back into the slot and fixing it back into the brush. The roller is correctly positioned when you hear it lock and securely lock the roller back into the brush with the pin.

DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

If you want to replace the appliance or no longer need it, you should also think about protecting the environment.

The battery can only be removed when you want to discard the product.

Please follow the instructions below when removing the battery and observe all safety precautions:

Unplug the appliance. // The battery must be completely discharged before removal. // Follow the attached pictorial instructions. // Cut the wires closest to the battery one by one and remove the battery. // Do not cut both wires at the same time to avoid short-circuiting. Although the battery is empty, improper disposal may result in short-circuiting, which may cause smoke, smouldering, or even fire.
