5 Notes on Safety:

ATTENTION! Demounting of the housing is only permitted to skilled electricians! Do not carry in air planes when filled with gas!

Mind adequate ventilation and use fire-resistant and solid surfaces!
Keep away from fire sources!
- Your product is no toy and children must not use it anyway, because it contains fragile, small and swallowable parts, which can injure people with incorrect use!
- Remove and dispose packaging materials, because playing children could cut on it. Furthermore there is a danger of swallowing and inhaling of incidentals and insulating of materials.
- Do not interrupt the product to extreme heat, coldness or direct sun insulation. Mind warmed up parts of the device during operating!
- Only place the product on fire resistant, not heat conducting and solid surfaces.
- Switch off the product, when not in use.
- Do not modify or alter the device or its accessories! Therefor mind chapter “warranty and liability”.
• Furthermore avoid vibrations, mechanical, magnetic and electro-magnetic influences,
as well as liquid or dust effects.
- If defects, mechanical damages, disturbances or other problems occur, which are not solvable with this manual, take the device out of work immediately and consult your dealer for questions, repairing or change.
- Mind the specifications for transporting and use applicable methods for it, e.g. by transporting in the original packaging.
- Do not use any damaged parts.
- Never open the housing because the device contains easily flameable gas after charging!
- Do not touch heated parts. There is a risk of burning!
- In case of burning, cool down the injured skin by flowing and cool water. Immediately call a doctor for emergencies.
- Mind the heating-up time and only use original Fixpoint accessories for efficient operating.
- Let the device cool down completely before storing to avoid smoldering fires.
- Soldering steams can be injurious and cause cancer. Mind adequate air ventilation during work.
- Ignite away from face and clothing!
2 Description and Function:
Your Fixpoint ® gas powered soldering iron is made for soldering, independent from mains. It is small, light weight and is used with butane lighter gas. You can adjust the soldering temperature and change the soldering tip. It comes with electronic piezo ignition. Use the protection cap as safety stand for the soldering iron.
3 Intended Use:
We do not permit using the device in other ways like described in chapter Description and Function. Use the product only in dry interior rooms. Not attending to these regulations and safety instructions might cause fatal accidents, injuries, and damages to persons and property.

5 Operating Elements:
Use the protection cap as safety stand for the soldering iron during work breaks like shown in Fig. 1.

The control lever is off in left position. - no gas supply 2 By sliding it rightwards it will click softly.
Up to the click:
3 left position - low gas supply = low soldering temperature

mid position - ignition position = medium high soldering temperature right position - high gas supply = high soldering temperature

6 Installing and Operating:

Do not touch the heated soldering tip or barrel!
Use the protection cap as safety stand for the soldering iron during work breaks.
1. Refilling:
Turn the soldering iron upside down and push a butane can into the filling valve. The tank is filled within 15 seconds. Let the gas stabilize after filling for approx. 3 minutes.
2. Ignition:
- Turn on the fuel by moving the control lever to the right at the mid position (A).
- Ignite by pushing the ignition button (B).
- Wait 3 seconds for catalyst to glow.
3. Changing tips:
- Make sure the soldering tip has cooled down before the removal.
- Turn it anti-clockwise for loosening with a combination wrench and fasten it clockwise.
Put on the protection cap only when the soldering iron has cooled down completely.




7 Care, Maintenance, Storage and Transport:

- Switch off the device and let it cool down completely!
- Clean the product only with a dry linen. Be careful with the cleaning to avoid scratches. For intensive pollution you can damp the linen with some water. Do not use cleaning supplies and chemicals, because they can corrode the plastic material.
- Remove residues carefully with a small knife.
• Empty the gas completely before transport or storing. - Avoid places with high temperatures, humidity, or places which can become wet, also during maintenance, care, storage, and transport.
- Please store your product in a dry and dustproof surround when not used for longer time. The product must be stored impenetrably for children.
- Please retain the packaging to avoid damages during transport.

9 Warranty and Liability:
• The producer grants a 2 years guarantee to a new device.
- As the manufacturer has no influence on installation, warranty of the product only applies to the product itself.
- If any fault or damage is detected on your device, please contact your dealer and provide your sales slip or invoice as evidence of the purchase, if necessary. Your dealer will repair the fault either on site, or send the device to the manufacturer. You make the work of our technicians considerably easier, when you describe possible faults in detail – only then you can be assured that faults occurring only rarely will be found and repaired with certainty!
- The manufacturer is not liable for damages to persons or property caused by improper installation or operation not described in this guide. This includes, among others, any alteration and modification of the product and its accessories.
- Any use other than described in this user's guide is not permitted, and causes loss of warranty, loss of guarantee, and non-liability.
- We reserve our right for misprints and changes of the device, packing, or user's guide.

Please return your product free of charge at the end of its service life at the producer, the sales outlet, or a public collection point, established for this purpose.
