USER MANUAL CR20BT BLAUPUNKT
To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of trouble-free performance and listening pleasure.
• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. • Do not install the product in the following areas: • Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators. • On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat. • Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area. • Areas where there is constant vibration. Humid or moist places. • Do not place near candles or other naked flames. • Operate the product only as instructed in this manual.
• The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom.
• Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected.
For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions must be read before the product is operated.

- Power sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated by the marking adjacent to the power cord entry. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company.
- Grounding or polarization - the product is not required to be grounded. Ensure that the plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet or extension cord receptacle to prevent blade or pin exposure. Some versions of the product are equipped with a power cord fitted with a polarized alternating line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit onto the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. - Ventilation - The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc.
- Heat - The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
- Water and moisture - To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the product to rain, dripping, splashing or excessive moisture such as in a sauna or bathroom. Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool (or similar).
- Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. Do not place any object containing liquid on top of the product.
- Cleaning - Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Dust in the woofer may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If you wish to use an aerosol cleaning spray, do not spray directly on the cabinet; spray onto the cloth. Be careful not to damage the drive units.
- Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.
- Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer's instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
- Moving the product - A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.
- Unused periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period of time.
- Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Please remove the power plug from the main power source or wall power source when not in use. When plugged in to a power source, the system is in standby mode, so the power is not entirely cut off.
- Replacement parts - When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.
- Mains fuses - For continued protection against fire hazard, use fuses only of the correct type and rating. The correct fuse specification for each voltage range is marked on the product.
- Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played.
- The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the wall outlet or the product. The wall outlet or the power cord entry to the product must remain freely accessible at all times while the product is in use.
- Try to install the product near a wall socket or extension cord and shall be easily accessible.
- The highest environmental temperature suitable for this product is 35°C.
- ESD hints - The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong Electro-Magnetic Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instruction manual. In case the function could not resume, please use the product in other location.
28. Battery
1). The batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
2). The batteries should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
3). Battery usage CAUTION - to prevent battery leakage which may result in body injuries, property damage, or damage to the apparatus:
- Install all batteries correctly, + and - as marked on the apparatus.
- Do not mix batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.)
- Remove batteries when the unit is not used for a long time.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus.
- To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to hot places, rain, moisture or dust.
- Do not locate this unit near any water sources e.g. taps, bathtubs, washing machines or swimming pools. Ensure that you place the unit on a dry, stable surface.
- Do not place this unit close to a strong magnetic field.
- Do not place the unit on an amplifier or receiver.
- Do not place this unit in a damp area as the moisture will affect the life of electric components.
- If the clock is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the player. If this occurs, the system will not operate properly. Please leave the system turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates.
- Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.

Power caution:
- Risk of product damage! Ensure that the voltage of the power source corresponds to the rating specified on the rating label on the rear panel of the clock radio. Only the supplied DC power adaptor is allowed to be used with this unit.
- Risk of electric shock! When unplugging the AC adaptor, always pull the plug from the socket. Never pull the power cord.
Unit setup and power on/off
Using the supplied DC adaptor, connect it to the DC jack on the rear panel of the unit, and connect the other terminal to the main power source. The display will light up when the power is set up successfully.
Short press the ⏻ FUNCTION button to power on and enter radio mode. Short press the button again to switch the unit to Bluetooth mode. Press and hold the button to power off the unit to standby mode.
Volume
In playing mode (FM radio or Bluetooth), short press the AL2 + or AL1 – button to increase or decrease the volume.
Time setting
- In standby mode, press and hold the TIME SET MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button for two seconds until the display blinks to start the time setting.
- Press the MINUTE TUNING > or HOUR TUNING < button to select 24 or 12 hour format. Press the TIME SET MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button again to confirm the selection, and the [00:00] or [12:00] digits will blink on the display to start the hour and minute setting.
- Press the HOUR TUNING < button to adjust the hour, and press the MINUTE TUNING > button to adjust the desired minute.
- Press the TIME SET MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button again to confirm the hour and minute setting, or the setting will be confirmed automatically if no button is used within 3 seconds. Then the time setting is completed.
Alarm setting
Before starting the alarm setting, please make sure that you have set up the clock time correctly. The unit allows you to set up two separate alarm timers. For the alarm source, you can select the FM radio or buzzer.
- Press and hold the ⏻ FUNCTION button for 2 seconds to enter standby mode. Press and hold the AL1 + or AL2 - button for two seconds until the display time blinks to enter the alarm setting mode.

- Press the HOUR TUNING < or MINUTE TUNING > button to adjust the alarm time, and press the AL1 + or AL2 - button to confirm the selection. Meanwhile, the symbol "b" (for buzzer) or "F" (for FM radio) will blink on the display, allowing you to select the alarm source.
- Press the HOUR TUNING < or MINUTE TUNING > button to switch the alarm source between buzzer and FM radio. Press the AL1 + or AL2 - button to confirm the selection, and enter the alarm volume setting interface.
- Press the HOUR TUNING < or MINUTE TUNING > button to adjust the alarm volume (05~15), and press the AL1 + or AL2 - button again to confirm and finish the alarm setting.
Note:
a. The alarm indicator dot will light up on the display when the alarm is set up successfully. b. When the radio is selected as the alarm source, the current FM radio frequency will be used as the source. c. The alarm sound will gradually increase when the alarm time is reached. d. When the alarm sounds, briefly press the AL1+ or AL2- button to cancel the alarm sound; the alarm will sound again at the same time the next day. e. In standby mode, briefly press the AL1+ or AL2- button to turn the alarm function on or off. f. Please note that the clock and alarm settings are retained only as long as the DC power is connected or the backup battery is installed. After removing the DC power, please recheck and reset the clock and alarm time. g. When the alarm time is reached, the alarm will sound continuously for 60 minutes if no further action is taken. h. During clock and alarm setting, if no button is pressed within 3 seconds, the current setting will be selected and confirmed automatically.
Snooze/Night Light ON/OFF:
- When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE LIGHT button to activate the snooze function for 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after 9 minutes, giving you another 9 minutes of sleep. Meanwhile, the AL1 or AL2 indicator will blink on the display.
- You can briefly press the AL1+ or AL2- button to cancel the snooze function.
- Press the Snooze/Night Light button to turn the Night Light on or off, except during alarm ringing and snooze operation.
Battery Backup Power and Setting Memory
In addition to connecting the DC adapter for clock and alarm timekeeping, you can install 2 pieces of 1.5-volt (LR6, UM-3, AA) batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the bottom of the
unit for temporary time storage.
Please note that the battery power is only for clock and alarm timekeeping, saving the previously used volume and preset FM stations.
Remark:
a. Install the batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicated inside the battery compartment. b. In the event of a power interruption, the backup battery power allows the clock setting to continue working. The clock display will not light up. This also enables you to move the unit from place to place without resetting the clock each time.
c. The backup battery is intended only for short temporary power interruptions. For longer durations, the battery may become exhausted or there may be some deviation in accuracy. When the battery is exhausted, remove it from the unit to prevent leakage. If you do not wish to use the battery backup system, the unit will work normally without a battery.
However, if disconnected from the mains, the clock figures will flash when the mains are reconnected, and you must reset the clock as described in the time setting section.
d. Note: Please be mindful of the environmental aspects of battery disposal. Do not throw used batteries in the trash. Please contact and refer to your local government's requirements for battery recycling.
e. The battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like.
FM radio operation
Before starting FM radio tuning, fully extend and adjust the position of the FM antenna wire; and try moving the radio next to a window for better signal reception.
1. Enter FM radio mode
Short press the ⏻ FUNCTION button to turn on the unit and enter FM radio mode. The FM frequency will show on the display.
2. Manual tune and auto scan
Short press the MINUTE TUNING > or HOUR TUNING < button to increase or decrease the FM radio frequency by 0.1 MHz per step.
Press and hold the MINUTE TUNING > or HOUR TUNING < button for two seconds to auto scan for available strong FM stations in upward or downward frequency, and auto play the available FM radio.
3. Radio preset
Press the MINUTE TUNING > or HOUR TUNING < button to tune the radio frequency and get the desired preset station. Press and hold the TIME SET/MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button until "PXX" blinks on the display. Short press the MINUTE TUNING > or HOUR
TUNING < button to adjust the preset station number to select the location where you want to store. Short press the TIME SET/MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button again to confirm the selection and complete the preset setting. Repeat the operation to set up other preset stations.
In radio mode, short press the TIME SET/MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button repeatedly to pick up and play the preset radio.
Note:
a. The unit can only save up to 20 preset stations. b. The preset radio stations will be lost when you remove the DC adaptor and there is no backup battery power. c. To remove a pre-stored FM station, save another station in its place. d. The display will return and show the clock information if there is no further operation within 10 seconds.
1. Auto scan and preset operation.
In radio mode, press and hold the DIMMER SLEEP/SCAN button for 2 seconds to automatically tune and preset the available radio stations.
Bluetooth operation
The unit includes a Bluetooth function that allows you to stream audio from your Bluetooth device.
- Short press the ⏻/FUNCTION button to enter Bluetooth mode until "bL" appears on the display. The blue Bluetooth LED indicator will blink rapidly in the top right corner of the display, indicating the unit is ready to pair. A notice sound will also come from the speaker at the same time.
- Activate the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device (e.g., smartphone) and search for available Bluetooth devices. Please refer to your Bluetooth device's manual for this operation.
- Check the Bluetooth menu list on your device and select "BLAUPUNKT CR20BT" for pairing. After successful pairing, the blue Bluetooth LED indicator will blink slowly, and another notice sound will come from the speaker.
- Select and play music from your Bluetooth device, and the audio will wirelessly play through the unit.
- In Bluetooth mode, you can press the HOUR TUNING < or MINUTE TUNING > button to change to the previous or next track. Press the TIME SET MEMORY/PLAY PAUSE button to play or pause music. Press AL2 +/AL1 – to adjust the volume.
Note:
The display will return to showing the time if there is no further operation
a. within 10 seconds. b. If a POP password is required during pairing, please enter "0000". c. Please note that not all Bluetooth devices are guaranteed to pair successfully due to different brands and designs. d. The best working distance for Bluetooth is within 10 meters without any obstacles. Please ensure your Bluetooth device is within this distance.
Sleep and dimmer
- In playing mode (radio or Bluetooth), short press the DIMMER SLEEP/SCAN button to activate the sleep function. Press this button repeatedly to select the sleep time from the following cycle. Select the desired sleep time and wait 2 seconds; the display will exit sleep setting mode and return to playing mode. Meanwhile, the SLEEP LED indicator will light up on the display, indicating the sleep setting was successful.

- In standby mode, short press the DIMMER SLEEP/SCAN button to adjust the display backlight between high and low brightness. The backlight level will be maintained in playing mode after setting.
Note:
a. In sleep mode, short press the DIMMER SLEEP/SCAN button can check the remained sleep time, and the unit will switch to standby mode automatically when the sleep counting time is up. Please turn on the unit again for playing.
USB Charging
The unit includes dual USB charging output port (1 x 5V/1.0A, 1 x 5V/2.1A) which allow you to connect and provide power for other device like USB type lamp, fan or smart phone, tablet pc etc.
Before connect the USB charging port, please check the required power spec on your device, and use your device supplied USB cable (not included) for connection. A charging symbol or function indicator will light up on your device when the charging connection is success.
Remark:
a. The charging functions for all phones or electronic devices are not guaranteed on this unit. b. Please always check the required charging rating spec on your device first, and connect with relative USB output port from this unit. c. Please always use your device supplied USB cable for charging connection. d. The charging time of your device is not guarantee due to not supplied rating charging USB power source for your device.

Troubleshooting:
A. There is big background noise on FM radio mode.
a-1: Please fully extend the FM antenna, and adjust the antenna direction. Please move the unit next to a window. a-2: Please try to tune to other FM stations for listening. a-3: Please contact the service center for support if the problem still remains.
B. The sound is output intermittently in Bluetooth mode.
b-1: Please try to move your Bluetooth device closer to the unit. b-2: Please try to stop and turn off the Bluetooth function, and re-pair for playing. b-3: Please contact the service center for support if the problem still remains.
C. The display cannot light up.
c-1: Please check if the plug of the DC adaptor was connected properly. c-2: Please contact the service center for support if the problem still remains.
D. The alarm setting is not successful.
