How to connect the CAKEWALK A-300PRO to my computer?

Use the provided USB cable to connect the device's USB connector to a USB port on your computer. After installation, set the POWER switch to USB for USB bus power.

The keyboard produces no sound, what to do?

The A-300PRO is a MIDI controller, it has no built-in sound generator. You must connect it to music production software (e.g. SONAR, GarageBand) or a MIDI sound module via the MIDI OUT port. Verify that the MIDI channel on the device matches the receiver, and that the driver is correctly installed.

How to assign a MIDI message to a button or slider?

In EDIT mode (hold [ACT] + [◀]), use the [VALUE] button to navigate and select the controller to assign. In the assignment window, choose the type of MIDI message (Note, Control Change, Program Change, etc.) and set the values. Confirm with [ENTER]. You can also use the A-PRO Editor software (on PC/Mac) for more advanced graphic editing.

How to use the Split function?

Press the [SPLIT] button to divide the keyboard into two zones: UPPER (right hand) and LOWER (left hand). Use the [UPPER] and [LOWER] buttons to select the sound for each zone. The split point can be adjusted via the Keyboard Set menu in Edit mode or in A-PRO Editor.

Can I use this device without a power adapter?

In EDIT mode, use the [VALUE] button to select SYSTEM SETTING then FACTORY RESET. Press [ENTER] to confirm. Caution: This operation erases all user data (control maps, keyboard sets). Save your important settings via A-PRO Editor before proceeding.

Which software is compatible with the A-300PRO?

The device is compatible with any application supporting USB MIDI input (Windows, Mac). It is supplied with Cakewalk Production Plus Pack (including SONAR LE). How to clean the keyboard and controllers?
