USER MANUAL VP-30C FAGOR
These appliances comply with the directives from the European Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 89/336/CEE.
2. IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING
- Before using this appliance for the first time, read this instruction manual carefully and keep it to refer to later.
- This appliance must be connected to an earth installation.
- This appliance must not be used inside bathrooms or showers or in damp spaces. Do not use it in areas with temperatures which exceed 40^ .
- Before using the appliance, check that the domestic network voltage corresponds to what is indicated on the appliance.
- After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is in perfect condition; if in doubt, consult the closest Technical Assistance Service.
- This appliance must only be used domestically. DO not use it outside.
- In the event of a fault and/or poor operation of the appliance, switch it off and do not try to fix it. In the event of requiring repairs, only go to a Technical Assistance Service authorised by the manufacturer and request that original parts are used.
- The user must not replace the cable. If it is broken or it has to be substituted, only go to the Technical Assistance Service authorised by the manufacturer.
- The manufacturer will not be responsible for damage which caused by inappropriate or incorrect use or as a result of repairs carried out by unqualified personnel.
- Do not use the appliance if the cable or the plug is damaged.

Do not pull the cable to extract the plug from the socket.

Unplug the appliance when it is not being used or when you are going to perform a cleaning or maintenance task.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children or disabled people.
- Do not insert any objects through the protection bars.
- Do not hang clothes on the fan protection grille.
- Do not leave the fan next to a heat source or on hot surfaces.

4. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Before assembly, take the different parts of the fan out of their packaging and check that the power cable is whole and that the appliance has not been damaged during transport. Do not switch the appliance on if it is damaged.
Fan assembly (Fig. 2)
- Loosen the bolts (5 and 7) one of which is threaded on to the motor shaft (anticlockwise) and the other on to the engine frame (clockwise) respectively.
- Assemble the rear grille (4) on the motor frame (1) and fix it with the grille nut (5) guiding it into the positioning plugs (3).
- Insert the blades (6) on to the motor shaft, fixing them with the nut (7).
Check that the blades do not touch anything when you turn them by hand. The blades must turn freely, if not repeat from step 2.
- Assemble the front grille (8) and press gently until it fits into the plastic ring.
- Close the safety clip by tightening the nut.
Installing the fan on the wall (Fig. 3 and 4)
- The fan should be assembled in the most accessible place for the plug socket.
- Using the wall bracket as a guide, make marks for the drill holes. Then insert the studs and adjust the bracket firmly with the screws.
- Hang the fan on its bracket.
- The fan should not be installed at a height under 2.3m .
5. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
The fan can be controlled by pressing the buttons on the control panel or using the remote control (Fig. 1.2).

Stop button (2.1.): Press this button
to stop the fan.

Start/speed button (2.2.): Press this
button to start the fan. Press this button again to select the fan speed. The light will indicate the selected speed. Every time this button is pressed, the selected speed will vary according to the following sequence:

low speed (L)

medium speed (M)

high speed (H)


MODE button (2.3.): Press this button
to make the fan work in day mode. The green light will come on. If the button is pressed again, the function will change to night mode. The red light will come on. If the button is pressed for a third time, this function will be deactivated. The sequence is as follows:


With this mode, the fan operates by
changing the speed rhythmically, moving from one speed to another every 15~20 seconds approximately, stopping for a few seconds every time a cycle finishes.

With this function, the fan will operate
differently depending on the chosen speed. At the end of each sequence the fan continues to operate at low speed, independently of the initial speed selected.
High speed sequence:

Medium speed sequence:

30 min.

- Low speed sequence:

Swing button (2.4.): Press this button
to make the fan swing horizontally. Press i again to deactivate this function.

Timer button (2.5): Press this button
when you wish to select an operation period of 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. The light will indicate the selected time period. The light will go out when this function is deactivated. Each time this button is pressed, it moves from one selection to another in the following sequence:

6. TILT
The tilt of the fan can be adjusted according to Fig. 5
7. CHANGING THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE CONTROL
a) Remove the cover from the battery compartment as shown in Fig. 6.
b) Insert only CR2023 batteries, matching the poles correctly.
c) Put the cover back on.

Remember that batteries are not household waste. Spent batteries must be disposed of in the special containers provided.
8. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning, press the (2.1.) button to ensure that the fan is off and unplug the appliance.
- If you want to take the appliance down for cleaning, reverse the assembly instructions.
DO NOT SUBMERGE IT IN WATER.
- Apply a few drops of lubricant on to the motor shaft to avoid corrosion.
- The blades can be cleaned in warm water with a little gentle neutral soap.
- They can also be cleaned with a slightly damp soft cloth.
- The external part of the motor can be cleaned with a slightly damp soft cloth.
- Do not use solvents or abrasive products to clean the fan.
9. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to
a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources.
To remind you that you must collaborate with a selective collection scheme, the symbol shown appears on the product warning you not to dispose of it in traditional refuse containers.
