Frequently Asked Questions - U9902CH ROTEL

How to start the Rotel U9902CH ice machine for the first time?
Before first use, clean the water tank and ice bin with a soft cloth. Fill the tank with drinking water, plug in the appliance, and press the On button. Select the ice cube size (small or large) and wait about 6 to 8 minutes for the first cubes. Discard the first batch of ice to avoid any residue.
How to clean the ice machine?
Unplug the appliance and empty the tank. Use a mixture of warm water and white vinegar (1:1) to clean the inside of the tank and the conduits. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. The ice bin can be washed with soapy water. Perform a cleaning cycle every month.
Why is my machine not producing ice?
Check that the water tank is filled above the minimum level. Ensure the ambient temperature is between 10°C and 32°C. If the 'bin full' indicator is on, empty the ice bin. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
How to change the ice cube size?
Ice cube size selection is done via the dedicated button on the control panel. Press once for small cubes (small cube icon), a second time for large cubes (large cube icon). The corresponding indicator light turns on.
What is the daily production capacity?
The machine can produce up to 12-15 kg of ice in 24 hours, depending on the ambient temperature and selected cube size. The production cycle lasts about 6 to 8 minutes.
Can I use tap water?
Yes, but it is recommended to use filtered or demineralized water to prevent limescale buildup and extend the appliance's lifespan. If you use tap water, descale more frequently.
How to store the ice?
Ice is stored in the built-in ice bin, but it may melt if the appliance is not running. For longer storage, transfer the ice to a freezer bag and place it in the freezer.
Is the machine noisy?
The noise level is below 45 dB, which is comparable to a quiet refrigerator. You may hear the compressor and water flow, which is normal.
What to do if the machine displays an error code?
Refer to the manual for code meanings. Generally, 'E1' indicates low water, 'E2' a faulty temperature sensor. Unplug the appliance, wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in. If the error persists, contact customer service.
Can I repair the machine myself?
Some minor repairs like replacing the water filter or ice bin are possible. For any work on the electrical circuit or compressor, call a certified professional.
